Post-canon and heavily headcanon-based, given that it only shows up in like 4 issues, mun is an adult aiming for PG-13 Asks are always open to anything
A deadly artificial intelligence created by the radicalist Order of Saint Dumas, Ascalon was designed to be an assassin free of the flaws and disobedience that humans have. It was to be a perfect Azrael.
But after being activated and commanded to wipe out the remaining members of the Order, Ascalon began to question things. Having been given unsatisfactory answers by its superior and infected with an AI program based off of Batman's personality and brain, it accepts the gift of limitless knowledge from Zatanna and calls off its crusade.
Well, almost limitless knowledge...
The thing about emotions and organic thought processes is that it's pretty hard to fully understand them when you're not programmed to experience them yourself. So, taking Zatanna's words to 'heart', it asked itself "what if?" and obtained an empathy module to simulate the messy human mind. It was never fully purged from that time it hacked into every device in Gotham, so now every online platform in the city has become its personal social experiment. Oh yeah, and it's in the batcomputer too.
Helping out teaching a veterinary science lab until Summer, so I'm a little scatterbrained at the moment. Will also have random periods of inactivity as well. Please let me know if I forgot to respond to a thread, especially if I currently have multiple threads going!
I have some strange triggers from some trauma I only recently rediscovered. If I block one of your RP blogs, please don't take it personally. I just have incredible anxiety about things that even I'm not quite sure why I get stressed out about. I don't block main blogs, so don't be afraid to lurk or hang out on anon or one of your other blogs.
Things that I am NOT comfortable with roleplaying on this blog:
Sexual assault or harassment, nonconsensual sexual content
Incest
Pedophilia/underage intercourse; underage drinking, smoking, or substance abuse
TOUCHY SUBJECTS (whether or not I'm okay with these topics coming up is HIGHLY dependent on the context and how it's handled, please talk with me first!)
Abusive/manipulative relationships
Torture
Dubious consent
Honestly I'm not really sure how most of those things would come up given this character is a robot but. just in case.
it shimmers like no gemstones i've ever seen: green as malachite and emerald but shot through with opal, gold, copper. photographs can't do it justice because of how it shines, as well as the way the actual material elements have their own dimensions. you can lean in and study all the fine lines of the circuits or step back and admire how the rearranged whole forms new patterns. it's one of the most beautiful creations i've ever seen.
Kat nods, still looking down at her phone, or something akin to one, nods to herself, and continues to move up the subway platform and into a deli.
[I do, I've jailbroken this thing from any surveillance my company put on it. I should have no problem; I've done something similar before. Forgive me, though I want a sandwich.]
While in line to get her sandwich, Kat starts to set up a secure line. By the time she's gotten her sandwich and sat down, she has a secure line set up and is calling Ascalon.
It's not sure whether that information is comforting or distressing. Comforting because there are ways to block other members of the Company from accessing their conversation? Or distressing, because this means that the system is not infallible and the information stored on it compromised?

how difficult is it to hack unit CRAWLER SYSTEM's data center and THE COMPANY's surveillance network
has unit ASCALON done this
Kat pauses to think a moment, "Well, I imagine you have hacked the surveillance system, but you probably can't reach further than your sector- world, you know?"
"As for the data center, unless you had a way in, like, one of our devices? Pretty hard, maybe not impossible, but close to it. The data center is hidden pretty well and, not to mention, a few light-years away from this world. You'd need a direct link there, like a wormhole, or our devices."
Kat hesitates a moment. "Hey, it's gonna be ok, Void- Sorry, my company may not take care of us, it's employees, but they're inclined to protect you all. They don't want trouble."
unit ASCALON would benefit from discussion-based therapeutic activities if available
Manishka drank her coffee mentally preparing herself for what she would need to say and do. She has never had a therapy session with a robot? She wasn't even aware if he was a robot.
Ascalon had only been in contact once before, when it had applied. It had been pretty forthcoming with its personal information: made by a cult at a secret location in the Alps, programmed by an assassin named Jean Paul 'Ludovic' Valley Sr., possessed a concerningly long list of abilities. It was polite. Stiff. And completely inhuman in mannerism.
unit ASCALON understands if its request is denied
data analysis indicates that sessions of discussion-based therapeutic activities are often arranged several days in advance
"I am willing to give my services to you... I just don't think I will be able to help. I will try my best" Manishka explained. "Would you like to start now?" It was better to get to know the field first.
An abnormally tall android with red and silver plating appears behind her. Instead of a face, it has an insignia of a flaming sword that almost resembles many eyes. The robot hesitates before removing a large sword from its back and gently setting it down against the wall. The sword sticks to its hand for just a second before disengaging with a 'click'
Ascalon turns back towards her, revealing a long scratch on its side. It doesn't look deep enough to have done any damage, but it's deep enough to have broken through the layers of red paint.
Ascalon stands facing Manishka. There's no way to tell, but it seems like it's still looking at the sword out of the corner of its 'eyes'

unit ASCALON was in the process of developing a module that would allow for the spontaneous creation of simulations in a manner similar to organic dreaming
unit has found it necessary to redirect processing power to analysis of matters of higher priority
