the weirdest part about fallout 4 is the few glimpses of someone on the writing staff actually giving a fuck

like there’s this one trailer park where you can find a bunch of tapes of a children’s story which is a very deliberately unsubtle metaphor for “you can’t trust those Reds, report your local subversive or east Asian today kiddos” and it’s like… yeah. That’s what pre-War society would have come up with, absolutely, and IIRC it was one of the only moments in that game that really had an emotional impact on me because it was genuinely disturbing, both in the fictional context and when you think about the kind of lessons they’ve tried to teach us in the post-9/11 United States IRL. Hell, it got to the point where I was looking over that place with a fine-toothed comb just to find the remaining holotapes, even though there was no actual reward for doing so.
