Based on Miss Peregrine's Peculicar Children movie and (lowkey) Supernatural + other shows:
Background: in this world if a person's phobia is strong enough, it can manifest as a creature. These creatures cannot be seen by others and are often called [wip]
These two⬆️ Carmelo and Alma made a "safe haven" for these creatures.
They help the person to get rid of these phobias or, at the very least, not letting it become too strong. If the phobias become unattached, they can wreck havoc so Carmelo and Alma decided to create a home for these creature.
Me the first half of The Backrooms: "oh I get it. He's a down on his luck failed architect and even more failed furniture store owner who's trying to better himself. He'll probably be fascinated with the furniture/architecture of the backrooms and start selling the items there for money + notoriety. And eventually he'll go deeper and deeper to get more and more items until he gets trapped and encounters The Horrors. A classic tale of hubris :) "
Love your backrooms art ^^ What are your thoughts on Clark from the Backrooms? I would say he’s great NPD coded representation in my opinion, and I honestly felt bad for his character in the end. Clark is a nicely written character, but, opinions? >_<
Clark was my absolute favorite. he was such a good take on narcissistic tendencies and how they made the backrooms kinda reflect on how he thought was SO freaking cool.
he reminded me a lot of one of my other favorite nacissistic characters
The movie was such a fantastic representation of the psychology of someone who was literally stuck in the same place.
It was a stagnant life and one that Clark refused to move on from. It was a beautiful representation of a man who was so stuck in his own world and convinced himself that moving on from it would only hurt him.
What literally walks into the room with him when he comes to that conclusion? An idealized bigger form of HIMSELF.
And it eats him.
He is quite literally destroyed by his own inflated ego. The rooms looping over and over and getting more distorted, its a view on how in adult life we find ourselves in these loops. But the only one who was moving on was Mary, which was shown when she literally took the stone from her childhood home and SMASHED it over the head of the ego itself, shattering all that she was holding onto into pieces to move forward.
And it put her right back to where she started anyways.
YES! YES! I watched it yesterday and I was like "mmm this reminds me of bendy" Im kinda disappointed when I go on tiktok and people say "that it was mid/boring/had no story(?)" Everything from the emotions and the backstory intertwined so beautifully. Really shows how amazing the writing is. (Both the movie and this au)
A fanfic about my au guns & rubies that’s set in the 1930s where toons and humans coexisted with each other which was inspired by “Who Framed Roger Rabbit”. And also Cuphead and Bendy’s first meeting.

The sound of automobiles and motor-buses driving through the cobblestone streets, the lingering heavy smoke that’s pumping out the vehicles making it hard to breathe at times though maybe that had to do with his smoking habit, Cuphead let out a long sigh at the memory of his brother taking his last pack of smokes and forbidding him from taking another cigarette.
He then chuckled quietly as he fished out a singular cigarette from his pocket and lit it up then inhaling before exhaling the grey smoke out, it’s cheap tobacco filling his lungs and his taste buds.
He kept walking, and the further he went the street became more darker and the atmosphere seemed to be more hostile, but it didn’t deter him from going to this “special musical performance” that would be held at a nearby café. An area that he wasn’t all too familiar with and when he was asking for directions he got a couple of queer looks from some folks, though he didn’t think too hard on it and continued on his merry way.
As soon as he saw a café that seemed particularly lively which must’ve been the place he was looking for, he quickly threw his cigarette onto the ground and stomped on it, and when he got closer there was a poster that read “The smiling demon performing tonight!”
He struggled at the name thinking that it was the musician’s performer name and he walked into the café the soft chime of the bell ringing behind him.
It was a bit dark where he was only able to make out figures sitting at the table and not what they looked like, but he took a seat in the far back since he still smelled of cheap tobacco, as he sat in his seat a waitress came to his table and asked what he wanted to order and he ordered just a hotdog.
And when the waitress left he noticed that she looked less human looking.. and more cartoon, which made him look around that basically everyone in this café was a toon and he was the only human here, he slowly sank into his seat realizing that he practically walked into a lion’s den and he hoped nobody looked too closely at his human characteristics. Cuphead knew he could be a dolt at times and did things without thinking. Which would have Mugman saying that way of doing things would get him in some type of trouble one day, and now he’s dealing with the consequences of his actions, he hopes Mugman doesn’t mind much if he has an limp missing or one less brother by the end of this night.
But then he saw three figures on the stage and everyone else seemed to have quieted down, one was a wolf toon he was tall and lean with some muscle and he sat with a cello leaned against him, the other one was a women with dark shimmering hair and she had a glowing halo with tiny black horns and she was holding a saxophones. And finally the one between the other two and was he tall, taller than the wolf and angel as well as giving a whole different aura.
The half of his face was obscure by a hat and the right side of his face was dripping ink, and a permanent smile was plastered on his face which showed off sharp canines and he was holding the microphone that radiated confidence and class, like he was made of money.
He was startled out his thoughts when the waitress placed his hotdog in from of him, he quietly said his thanks and then looked back at stage more so specifically at the demon toon, he grabbed the hot bun where the steam gently hit his face and took a hearty bite from it when they began to play their instruments. And when the tall toon started to sing, Cuphead almost dropped his hotdog and his bright red eyes stared in admiration it sounded so extraordinary.. his ears felt like they being blessed by his captivating voice alone.
Bendy’s voice soared, weaving through the crowd that felt less like music and more like a physical pull on the soul, everyone’s eyes were on him and him alone.
He was in his element. Singing that could melt away all your worries, and woes, his tall frame casting a dark shadow over the floorboards. Though his focus wasn’t on the inky crowd.
His senses were sharp unnaturally so.
Beneath the ink and the heavy velvet of his voice. Bendy felt a presence. Something that wasn’t ink nor paper, but a spark of something different, something warm. Something… human.
His ‘gaze’ looked through the crowd and spotted a man in the far corner, eyes wide and a striking red, he looked completely out of place yet he was staring at Bendy as if he were the only thing in the world worth seeing.
“A human.” He muse in his head as he sang. “And a beautiful one at that.”
The ink demon's tail gave a sharp, rhythmic flick behind him. He could feel the man's heartbeat from across the room it was fast, erratic, and delicious. He liked the way the man looked vulnerable yet captivated.
As the song reached a crescendo, Bendy gaze didn’t stray too far away from the red eyed man as he kept watch at every small reaction, he stared him down intense and unblinking.
And when the final note lingered in the air, haunting and heavy, leaving the room in a prolonged state of silence before it was broken by the audience’s applause, Bendy gave a graceful bow as he stepped away from the microphone and step foot off stage ‘eyes’ still fixed on the man in the back.
He wasn’t going towards the bar or exit, but rather he was going towards the man with striking red eyes in the back.
Cuphead blinked and the show was already over, he looked down then took another bite of his half-eaten hotdog and while chewing it suddenly became darker than it already was, his heart stopped beating for moment and he slowly lifted up his gaze and he saw the demon toon now standing in front of him with a slight till of his head and that ever present smile.
“A bit far from home, aren’t you?”
The voice was no longer the melodic, velvet croon of the stage; it was lower now, a smooth, gravelly baritone that vibrated in Cuphead's very bones. It was blunt, serious, and carried an intensity that demanded attention.
Bendy didn’t ask for an invitation to sit and simply pulled out the chair across from Cuphead, the wood lightly scraping against the floor, and sank into it with a grace that contradict his large stature.
He leaned forward, resting his chin on a gloved hand, ink ‘eyes’ boring into Cuphead’s blazing red ones.
“You were staring,” He stated. It wasn't a question. It was a cold, observant fact. A small, knowing smirk tugged at the corner of his mouth, though his expression remained largely unreadable. "Most people look with awe... but you? You looked like you were drowning in the sound."
He tilted his head slightly, his ‘eyes’ scanning Cuphead's face with an unnerving level of detail, as if he were memorizing every line and feature. "Tell me, red eyes," he murmured, his voice dropping to a private, intimate level that made the rest of the café feel miles away. "Are you lost... or were you looking for something specific?"
Cuphead broke into an embarrassed smile which show off the small tooth gap between his teeth and awkwardly rubbed the back of his neck.
“I uh.. heard some special musical performance was gonna happen here and I thought it would be neat to go to.” he mumbled softly though there’s still a hint of brightness in his voice. “Until as I sat down that I wasn’t supposed to be here. Though after hearing your voice I couldn’t think of anything but listening..”
He then brought his hand out to the other. “My name is Cuphead, you?”
Bendy stayed silent for a moment, his gaze narrowed then a sharp grin spread across his inky features, and he gently took Cuphead’s hand with his large clawed one. “Bendy Darling, it’s a pleasure to meet you, Cuphead.”

is it just me or is shoji being most commonly headcanoned as aroace (when not shipped w tokoyami) just another form of aroace people always being seen as monsters/aliens/robots/etc
bc he's a more quiet reserved character who doesn't show his emotions much and isn't "human" (in appearance)
which is also spitting on everything his character represents and stands for
on a similar note i hate how donnie in rottmnt is constantly headcanoned to be aroace despite being literally the ONLY ONE OF THE MAIN CHARACTERS to have shown interest in romance aside from SPLINTER AND BIG MAMA
i know it's bc he canonically has autism and low empathy and it pisses me off
it's yet another case of the stereotype that aroace people can't feel love or like. can't feel it "properly".
i'm aroace and i'm very lovey dovey with the people i care about. i tell my family i love them every time a conversation ends. i give out compliments to strangers. call me a loser for saying all of this, i don't care - aroace people can feel love and care just as strongly as alloromantic people even if we've never felt love
whether or not a person has interest in romance has NOTHING to do with their level of vulnerability, affection, anything like that. people who don't like affection can want a relationship, and people who do can not
just. please actually consider WHY you think a character is aroace before putting it out into the world. some negative stereotypes can really be permeated even if you have good intentions
