A bright smile spread across her lips, her eyes sparkling. She was glad to hear he thought it okay. Mana hadn’t been completely sure after the way her reacted. “Good~ I’m glad!” Besides, if they were stuck living in the same building so long, there was a good chance Mana would wind up hugging Kaiji again.

Her attention was drawn back to him as he started to play around with the coffee. Mana couldn’t see exactly what it was he was doing, but she leaned forward her curiosity getting the better of her. Her face brightened again, the curiosity leaving her eyes, when he brought her the cup. She curled her fingers around it, peering at the deep brown liquid contents. Strange. Mana didn’t think she’d seen anything quite like it before. Or anything that smelled like it, she mused as she brought the cup up to her lips, blowing on it a little. She could tell it was hot.

She gave Kaiji another smile, nodding slightly, “Okay! Thanks~!” With that, she took a small sip. Almost instantly, she scrunched her nose up, making a noise. She obviously did not like the taste of plain coffee.

“I-I think I should add some of that other stuff…” Definitely needed to.

Kaiji watched Mana fiddling with the coffee cup as he dropped two sugar cubes into his own. He couldn't help but grinning a little when he saw the results of the this tasting. The face she was making was quite amusing so he even gave a little chuckle. 

"A little tough for you maybe?"

He pushed the milk and sugar a little closer still grinning. 

"Here, you can add these all you want, I left plenty of room for that."

“T-That’s okay! I didn’t really think…if that would be okay.” She bit her lip, glancing up at him through her bangs. Sometimes she tended to act before she thought. She fidgeted a bit, not sure what to say either. Her eyes lifted to him in surprise when he spoke again, a small smile appearing on her lips.

“O-Oh! Okay!!”

At the topic change, a curious look entered Mana’s eyes and she peered at Kaiji, watching his movements as he checked the coffee.

A grin spread across her face as he told her it was almost ready - even if it didn’t show well, she was still very curious about the coffee. Unable to help herself, Mana slid to her feet, and leaned around, staring at the pot with wide eyes.

“Oh yay~!”

"It's...."

Kaiji had to pause here. He wasn't sure if he could honestly say if it was alright that would be a little too much for his pride really. He bit his teeth together and fuzzled his hair until a little growl escaped from his mouth. 

"Aaa, well... i-it wasn't the end of the... world or anything so... it's fine."

His attention turned elsewhere when the brewer stopped making it's steady whirring. Kaiji took the pot and after a little balancing he poured a little to both of the cups. For Mana he left quite a lot room for the milk and such but for himself he would just put few sugar cubes. 

"So... here it is, I suppose. And the milk and all is ...well, in front of you as you can see. Feel free to add them if you want."

He pointed towards the object he had placed there while ago before he gave the cup to Mana and took a seat back to the table again.

A small laugh left Mana, and she nodded her head, “Mm, s’fine. I don’t think I could really help you with it, really?” She nodded once, smiling reassuringly at him, as if to tell him it’s okay. “And it’s a little hard. But once you start learning…It gets easier?”

Mana gave him a squeeze, before pulling away, slightly surprised. She hadn’t been sure of how he’d react to her hugging him. But she hadn’t really expected him to get so flustered…or to really, yell. The way he was, at least. Pulling completely away, she squeaked a little, mumbling a quick ‘sorry.’

She sucked in a breath, letting a small smile return to her face, “O-Okay. I’m glad to hear, then…”

"I-i-it's fine, I was just...surprised and... um...."

Kaiji swallowed a little a bit unsure what to say next. He still didn't really get why Mana had suddenly hugged him but assumed she had noticed his mood being a little dejected. Yeah, that was it probably. He couldn't quite bring himself to ask about it but if he wouldn't say anything the mood might turn awkward. Not for Mana but for Kaiji. He wasn't even sure what exactly was wrong and he wasn't so comfortable about spilling his guts about all the problems he had. Therefore he went with trying to change the subject:

"Oh! The coffee! I-I'm gonna check that...!"

He bounced up from his chair his face still a bit flustered and then turned around to check the state of the coffee brewer. Just about ready - no longer than a minute, so he might as well stand next to it for a while. Turning around to face Mana again he repeated that a loud:

"I-it's almost ready."

Mana let another laugh leaving her, and she nodded again, humming in acknowledgement. “I guess it is amazing…? It’s just…normal for me?” She shrugs, tugging on her hair a little, “I’m sure if you wanted to you could learn…? I don’t think I could help you though…? It took Mahaad a lot of time to finally get me to do a proper spell,” After of course, Mana had blown a few things up, “But I’m pretty sure everyone has the ability…? Whether or not they can learn to use it depends on them?” They also needed the right tools.

“And no. I didn’t…” She frowned a bit, “But I can’t help but feel a little guilty…” She trailed off, pausing a moment, “And No. I guess it can’t be…” And she was laughing again, her eyes sparkling with amusement, “Maybe!! I don’t think Set’s ever liked me all that much, to be honest. But yeah…Oh.”

Her eyes went wide as she took in the smile he gave her, and without a second thought she got up and closed the distance between then, wrapping her arms around his neck in a hug.

"Ehhh... that sounds like lots of work... I think I'll pass."

Kaiji had never been a hard worker and in most cases in a normal situation. Studying had also never been his forte which was part of why he hadn't went to university. And since learning magic sounded really difficult and he would haven't had any idea where to start ... well, so many reasons to pass it. 

"I-I mean it really sounds cool and all but....uhhhh....a bit difficult."

He really doubted he would learn it but it would have been awfully depressing to say it out loud so he just listened as Mana spoke. It seemed like she was a bit cheerier again so maybe it had been quite good idea to shut up after all. 

"W...well, isn't that gr----"

Kaiji's words were cut by the surprise of somehow getting a pair of arms around his neck. At first he just sort of blanked out, next his face got all red and finally he started stuttering some incoherent noises that slowly turned into words:

"W-W-W-WHAT ARE YOU D-D-D-D-D-DOING?!" was the best he could mutter though. He also tried struggling against the hug quite a lot since Kaiji wasn't exactly used to things like that, at least not surprising ones by a person he had just met. It was just incredibly embarrassing.

"O-OKAY, YOU CAN STOP NOW REALLY, I'M OKAY, I'M OKAY AND....I'M JUST OKAY, OKAY?"

As he spoke the blush would just deepen.

Mana nodded in agreement, pressing her lips together. She wasn’t honestly sure how to reply to his response, so instead stayed quiet. She watched him curiously, wondering what he was thinking. How he was responding to what she was even saying.

She smiled at him, a small shy smile, her shoulder lifting slightly in a shrug, “I guess so…? It’s just something I have to get used to, I guess? Good training.” She laughed again, giving another small shrug.

“Eh? I guess!” Mana stuck her tongue out a little, looking rather sheepish, “It’s…kind of my fault? The spell that sent me here left some kind of portal, apparently. And he fell through it.” Mana did feel a little bad about that, she hadn’t really wanted Set to be trapped here either, but there was a part of her that was glad he was here. Because it meant she wasn’t completely alone. Even as Mana made friends here, she knew they could never replace those from her home. At least Set was still a part of that…

Mana blinked out of her thoughts, and returned his gaze with one of her own. Her lips parted slightly at his comment, and she went to nodding again.

“Mhmm~ I agree! Maybe one day people will tell us~” She giggled

"Ehhh, I see...."

Kaiji let out a short laugh pulling himself up looking at the girl. She seemed to have quite positive grasp of things. It wasn't really the type of thinking that Kaiji was good in. Kaiji wasn't entirely sure but from the way Mana was speaking it seemed like she was still learning this...whole magic thing but it didn't make it seem any less impressive. Kaiji could have read it wrong but he thought that Mana seemed to be quite enthusiastic about it too. Kaiji couldn't say he had anything like that at all. He had never had a goal or anything like that in his life. 

"It sounds sort of amazing though, I mean uh, I can't do anything like that at all... haha..."

Kaiji let out a nervous laugh. He couldn't really say that he had any special abilities like that. Nothing that Kaiji himself thought much of or anything he found worth mentioning. 

The part about her friend dropping through the...gate thing sounded quite bad though. Kaiji tried imagining how it would be if he had lead some of the people he knew were here because of his mistake. It was an uncomfortably heavy thought so with a bit stuttering words he tried:

"W-well, it's not like you meant that to happen... I mean, it can't be helped now that he's here, right? I-I'm sure this... Set is at least happy to know that you're well... or something...?"

Then he gave a bit pitiful smile.

"And it's good not to be alone, right?"

“Intuition…?” Mana bit her lip as she responded, shrugging her shoulder a little, “But I guess it doesn’t matter…? We can’t change the past. Just make the most of the situation?” She flashed him a bright smile before continuing, “Besides…I think even outside, it isn’t possible to sense the…” She paused, her eyebrows drawing together as if she were thinking, “Evil…? I’m not sure if that’s it, but you can’t sense that outside.”

Mana lifted her eyes, letting her gaze drop on Kaiji again. Another bout of giggles left her, and she enthusiastically nodded her head, sending strands of her hair flying about her face and over her shoulders. “Mhmm~! I can! Well…kind of? I’m still learning. I don’t know how much farther I can get now though, since Mahaad isn’t here…” Sadness flashed across her face, but she almost instantly covered it up with another smile. “But I can sense things about this place, at least! The energy here is really heavy…it’s tiring to have to just be in it…” Not that Mana let anything like that stop her from being her energetic happy self.

“I see~” Nodding again, not quite as enthusiastically as she had before, Mana paused to hum a little in thought, “I suppose that makes sense that you’d think that’s where I’d be from too…? To be honest I was thinking maybe everyone was from Egypt. At least, until I saw all your strange clothes and everything…!”

“But also thinkin’ about how I got here, it makes sense there don’t seem to be a lot of other from Egypt too…Just Set, I think. It kind of makes you wonder how everyone got here, and where they’re all from, huh?”

Kaiji sank into the pile giving a sigh. It was rather admirable how some people managed to keep the positivity up so easily. Kaiji could only manage to raise it up at times but eventually it would plummet down to the lower levels. 

"I suppose..."

The latter part of Mana's talk made him raise his other eyebrow a little and tilt his head a little, still leaning to the table. It did sound awfully handy though. This.. ability to sense 'evil' did. He didn't quite grasp what was the thing Mana was trying to explain so he just muttered 'I see' as a reply.

And again she was laughing. Kaiji still kept quiet only frowning a little until the brief sadness appeared in the girl's face. Well, it was only natural that people would miss people from the..places they had arrived from. Kaiji himself could think some people he would probably miss though even in Japan there was no certainty for him to meet them again, they all had their own circumstances after all. Then she also mentioned how the energy or something was heavy here. Kaiji's face immediately wrinkled from worry.

"Wow, that sounds... tough."

It was a little hard to relate to it though since Kaiji's senses were ...quite normal. Keen perhaps (though Kaiji might have disagreed with that) but still not supernaturally so. 

Kaiji's face brightened a little when the girl mentioned her friend or whoever this Set was - that they were here. Not that Kaiji was happy to hear that more people were imprisoned here but that the girl actually had someone more familiar with her here.

"Ehh, you got someone you know here? That's ...sort of lucky."

Then his face turned into more thoughtful expression again as he started thinking where all the people here had came from and how they had arrived - just like Mana said.

"...yeah, it's sort of large thought, or how should I say it, haha."

He scratched his head a little.

Mana’s eyes went right wide, and she stared at Kaiji, obviously very surprised by his reaction. She sucked in a breath, before shaking her head, “I-I didn’t mean it was our fault for getting stuck. But just…f-for entering. Regardless of whatever drew us in we still decided to…” And for her, she should have been able to sense something about this place. That something was wrong.

She shrugged her shoulder a little, her gaze moving to the other wide of the room. “Mmm. Mhmm. As long as we keep trying…” She trailed off, then sucked in a breath, returning her gaze to Kaiji.

Mana’s eyes widened slightly, and she couldn’t help the laugh that left her at his reaction.

“Yep~ Egypt.”

She shifted, reaching down to tug her skirt properly over her legs. She didn’t really understand why he seemed so surprised by her being from Egypt. She thought it was obvious! But she supposed that was because she knew that.

“No…? I was home, in Egypt before I was here.” Mana blinked, looking slightly confused by the question. Japan. Takao had mentioned the same place when she spoke to him, hadn’t he…? “I messed up a spell and it sent me here. Apparently that’s how Set got here too…” Mana looked a little sheepish at that, but shrugged it away, “Why? Are you from Japan…?”

Kaiji of course had no idea that Mana was able to sense things like that as Kaiji himself had never really experienced anything like this before arriving to the hotel, let alone having any powers.  All these ghosts and still seemed awfully unreal to him at times. The whole situation was so awfully even though Kaiji had somehow settled in to the place and the situation. At least somehow.

"How would I have known not to enter?"

He didn't raise his voice this time, just leaned his chin to his hand moving his eyes to side again. Actually the muttering was meant more to himself rather than Mana.  He actually realized that he hadn't been acting very civil.

When Mana suddenly started to laugh Kaiji raised his eyes again looking slightly irritated as he did. He didn't say anything just stared the girl like that until she started talking again.

And when she spoke the next thing to do for Kaiji was to process all the things that she said. Not that it was difficult to understand but rather something that was slow to  sink to his head. By the last part his slightly peeved expression had turned into large astonishment.

"Um... spell? You mean... you can do... magic and stuff?!"

At this point Kaiji had thought that he wouldn't get surprised by anything anymore but in the end he just couldn't quite settle into that whole thing. Of course he would get used to each person having their own powers but still. Like now the girl had completely surprised him with this spell deal.

"Uh, yeah... I'm.. from Japan."

Ask the character/mun: Ask the muse whatever you want for them to answer IC; or ask the mun a personal question to get to know better or to get an OOC answer [although we would like to keep these at a minimum]!

Mana jumped slightly at his sudden outburst, clearly surprised. She hadn’t expected him to react as he had. From what she could tell of him so far, he just didn’t really seem to be the type. Or at least not often. A small frown appeared on her lips and she nodded in agreement, a small sigh leaving her.

“I suppose that would be true? Although I guess it’s also our own faults for entering…” She glanced away momentarily, looking thoughtful, “this place just has a bad feel to it…” To be honest, Mana was surprised she hadn’t sensed anything right away when she first approached the hotel. She bit her lip, then glanced back at him, “I guess we’ll just have to be patient until we can figure something out? I’m sure we’ll find some way to leave, one day.”

Brushing strands of her hair off her shoulder with a hand, Mana let her smile fall back into place, albeit not quite as bright. At his compliment, her eyes took on another shine.

“Oh thank you~!” She felt like she should say something else, but the words left her, leaving her unsure. But he continued, saving her from that feeling. Tilting her head in curiosity, Mana nodded, letting him know it was okay to ask. Whatever he asked, she doubted it would really bother her. There seemed to be a lot of things in this hotel that she, specifically she - and probably Set too now that she thought about it, didn’t know about. Maybe it was just from where they were from.

Hearing his question, she couldn’t help but laugh.

“Uhm~ To be honest, I don’t know…? We just don’t have it in Egypt.”

During the first sentence of the girl Kaiji lift his head growling. He wasn't actually looking at Mana as he spoke since it wasn't really her that he was angry to. It was more of his piled up frustration escaping from his mouth. It wasn't very unusual him to blow up like this.

"Our fault?! Just how is it my fault if some lunatic or ...whatever it is that draw us here... it's THEIR fault if anyone is to blame! I mean, just how I was supposed to know this place was practically a jail?!"

Kaiji drew a little breath and yet another sigh escaped from him. Her realized that he had went a little overboard but apologizing would have been a bit embarrassing. That and he didn't really think he had said anything wrong. So, Kaiji looked awkwardly away and replied to the other part that Mana had said:

"Yeah, I suppose that's all we can do."

He sank a little into his chair staring the table surface. Mana's words almost escaped him but after a while the last phrase finally sank in. 

"...ehh?? Egypt?"

Kaiji's eyebrows arched quite high in surprise. He hadn't actually talked about the whole different dimension thing with anyone yet so it sounded awfully absurd to him. So, of course he had also no idea that Mana was talking about ANCIENT Egypt at all either - that would have made him even more confused. Right now it was quite confusing about how a girl from the Egypt was there in the same room with him.

"....um, I'm not even sure how to ask this but how? You're not...vacationing Japan or something...?"

Kaiji had an inkling that it wasn't the case here. He wasn't quite sure where the thought came from but it was awfully strong. Like his intuition was telling him it wasn't that.

“I guess that’s true…” Mana glanced down at the floor, her mood shifting slightly at the thought of that truth. There really wasn’t much…freedom at all. “Maybe soon there will be something better to do…?” She honestly didn’t know, but it didn’t hurt to hope.

She blinked, her shy smile returning with a nod of her head. “Mhmm! I suppose so~” Mana trailed behind him, glancing around the room curiously as she did. From what she saw, it really wasn’t much different from hers. Perhaps items in a few different locations, but that seemed to be the gist of the differences. Taking note of that didn’t take her any time, and she returned her attention instantly to Kaiji. Mana flashed a bright smile at him, and sat in the chair he has gestured to, her eyes staying on him the whole time. She couldn’t help but lean forward in the chair, staring curiously at the strange machine he was looking at.

“I see…?” A small look of curiosity passed her face as she glassed at the milk and sugar cubes, not entirely sure what they were as she had never seen them in that kind of packaging before. She figured she’d find out soon.

“Oh!” A gasp left her, and Mana flushed a little in embarrassment, “It’s nice to meet you, Kaiji!! I’m Mana~”

"Ha! If they wanted to make us comfortable they wouldn't have locked us here in the first place!"

Kaiji raised his voice when he said this, his face twisting into a deep frown. Thinking about the matter made his blood boil fast. He was quite temperamental to begin with 

he thought he had used to dealing things like this happening but apparently he really hadn't. He still couldn't talk about it very lightly, despite having spent quite a long time in the hotel already. 

Sighing Kaiji picked two cups from the upper shelf. He wasn't quite sure if they were for common use but it should be alright as long as he washed them after. One more check of the coffee and finally Kaiji sat down as well. The girl was there still beaming so he answered to that and gave another half-smile. 

"That's a nice name."

He was quite sincere complimenting the girl though it was also to pull the topic away from the hotel a little. He shouldn't just vent to strangers like that after all.

"But um, is it okay... if I ask, uh..."

He wondered how to present the question without coming off mean. There were cases in which Kaiji could insult people without really feeling much remorse about it but this wasn't such situation really.

"Uh, well, how come you don't know what coffee is...?"

Mana’s bright smile returned to her face and she took a few step forwards, entering just within the threshold of the room. Her eyes were once again wide with curiousity as she peered over his shoulder, wondering if his room were like the one she shared with some others, down a few floors. She turned her smile back to him, glowing. “Ah! I’m glad! I wouldn’t want to bother you if you were busy or anything…!! So I’m glad~~!” A small giggle left the girl, and she hooked her fingers together, swinging them a little.

It pleased Mana quite a bit that this stranger - who she hoped wouldn’t be that way much longer - was kind enough to let her in. Since she had lived at the palace as long as she did, she had grown to know a lot of those who came and went, so very little people were considered strangers to her. They all knew who she was, and she could pretty much come and go as she wished. Except for a few exceptions…Like Set. If she just went into his room for a chat, he’d probably have gotten mad at her. There weren’t a lot of people who denied her access. So suddenly having such restriction on her would be something she’d have to get used to.

Her eyes were wide, shining with the curiosity that bubbled in the girl. This…coffee stuff he spoke of sounded…strange. Mana didn’t know what to think of it. She nodded her head a little, eyes not leaving his face.

“Sure…? If that’s all right. It sounds strange though!”

When the girl beamed as much as she did Kaiji couldn't help but smile a bit as well. There was still a hint of nervousness on it though. 

"Eh, well... it's a bit hard to keep yourself busy here."

He ended the sentence with a sigh. The happy expression faded and was replaced by a dispirited one. It was like the mere phrase had drawn the energy out of him again. With a bit of an effort he managed to pull it back though it didn't seem as content as before.

"Uh, well... You'll see I suppose."

Kaiji gestured for the girl to follow after him. He thought that the rooms would be identical but couldn't say for sure so he just made sure that the girl followed him. Not that there was much to walk and surely she would have found the way herself - the rooms weren't that big but he figured it would be normal thing to do.

So, Kaiji took the few needed steps to the coffee machine and pointed a seat for the girl to take. With that he took a closer look at the coffee machine to find out that it was still brewing. Moving to the fridge he pulled a milk carton out placing it there on the table already. Next to it he placed the sugar cubes next to it.

"Um, it's quite bitter so....

Then he remembered that he hadn't still introduced himself. 

"Kaiji. Uh... I mean, that's my name. Kaiji Itou."

Mana’s face almost instantly brightened in response to his okaying her presence there, and that he opened the door wider. She peered at him with curious eyes - taking in his appearance now that she could see him a little better.

She lifted her gaze back to his face, her green eyes still bright with curiosity. She pressed her lips together, not entirely sure what to say. Even though she had decided to meet people, she realized now she hadn’t made a plan for what to say to any of them. How silly of her. 

Besides, it seemed he needed a few moments to adjust to the fact she had just…sprung herself on him.

“Oh!” A gasp left her, and she clasped her hands together, her body leaning forward slightly, “I-is that all right?!” she mentally shook herself, realizing Mahaad would probably chastise her for her lack of manners. Taking another breath, Mana nodded her head, “I-If you don’t mind, that would be fine….?” She smiled at him, seemingly shyer now then she had been only moments. Even with his partial invitation into the room, Mana didn’t move, waiting until he gave room for her to enter. She blinked a moment, the rest of his words sinking in

“….What’s coffee…?”

Oh no, now he had made the girl nervous as well but realizing that didn't really relieve Kaiji's restlessness at all. Sure the girl's visit was quite abrupt but there's no reason for her to get nerve wrack as well. Kaiji felt a little bad about it so he gave a few nervous coughs and then tried to collect himself just a little.

"Uhh....ummm....."

He took a deep breath moving further from the entrance. 

"Umm, sure, I mean... it's fine. I wasn't doing anything in particular anyway so... it's fine."

When Kaiji still had his apartment he hadn't really had many guests besides occasional acquaintances and a certain debt collector. Before that Kaiji hadn't really let any strangers in so easily - not that he was a loner or anything but  he just liked having his own personal space. 

 However right now a little distraction from his thoughts was more than welcome. Also, this girl didn't seem very suspicious either... Ah, well, looks could be deceiving but at least Kaiji didn't really think this person had bad intentions. She was just probably stuck here, perhaps bored. Something along the lines.

The other question from the girl took Kaiji by a surprise.

"Eh?"

  Kaiji shifted his eyes to the girl blinking. She didn't know what coffee was? Well, she did seem foreign but Kaiji thought that coffee was known almost throughout the world. Of course a thought that the stranger was from another time never even occurred to him, he was actually still blissfully unaware about how different the worlds people came from where. 

"You don't know wh--- um."

Well, it would be useless to ask about it.

"Uh, it's ... a drink? Wanna give it a taste?"

Mana had decided she wanted to try and meet someone new. She had only met a handful of people since entering the hotel, and it seemed there were a lot more she hadn’t met. Having come to this conclusion, Mana decided she was going to go to a random floor and knock on a random door to see if she could meet someone new!

Picking a door, Mana knocked on it and waited, a smile growing on her face. She hoped someone would answer! And that they were nice!

She heard the door start to open before she saw it, and her attention turned to the small crack that had appeared. Her eyes went wide with curiosity, and she leaned forward just a bit.

“Mm~ Nothing really! Just to say hi? I wanted to try and meet people I haven’t yet so…” She trailed off, a small giggle leaving her as she leans over slightly, trying to get a better look.

“Is that…okay…?” She realized now she wasn’t sure if the others here would feel offended by her actions or not.

It soon transpired to Kaiji that the uninvited guest was a girl - teenager to be more strict. From what Kaiji could see through the gap of the door she had a big smile on and somewhat foreign looking clothes. 

When she leaned closer Kaiji instinctively pulled back but soon enough let out a sigh and opened the door a bit more. She didn't seem that suspicious for now. A bit embarrassed from the first impression he had given he cleared his throat a bit.

"Uh, I.. suppose it's fine. It's not like I'm doing anything in particular so.... uh..."

Kaiji knitted his eyebrows a little. Would it be okay if he asked the girl in? It wouldn't come off as suspicious? Kaiji would really hate to leave that kind of impression but the coffee was brewing... uh, well, it would brew in peace even if he would leave the room. Some teenagers did drink coffee though yes? The girl did seem around 16 or 17, Kaiji couldn't say for sure so she could but... 

"Uh, so.. you want to come in or something? I mean, I have coffee brewing so... well, I don't know if you drink it or anything but...uh...."

He scratched his head frowning his as his eyes darted from the girl to the wall on his left. Well, the girl was the one who had came all in sudden so Kaiji did feel a bit threatened somehow. It would have been rude to blame the girl of it though. It was just Kaiji's awkwardness that got him so restless about the whole deal after all.

Idle (open!)

Kaiji was sort of stuck in his room. Of course it wasn't locked or anything and his keys were right there in his pockets. He just couldn't be bothered to move elsewhere than to eat and then occasionally visit courtyard to gasp some of the most fresh air the hotel had to offer. Occasionally he would even clean the room despite that the maid ghosts could handle that. Kaiji preferred things clean after all.

 The life here was getting all routine-like and Kaiji couldn't quite muster up any feelings to make himself a bit more alive.

This was how it always was when Kaiji had nothing to do. He just got himself stuck in the circle of lazing around and doing nothing at all. The kind of life that lacked the thrill of everything that had happened to him before. Not that he would want to get into any of that kind of trouble or anything like that, at least that was what he told himself.

You wouldn't depict the life in the hotel normal - normally people didn't get stuck in the hotel and normally there weren't any ghosts moving around the place. But besides that ... they didn't have it so bad here right?

No, no! 

Kaiji jumped up grasping his head and shaking it firmly. You shouldn't be swept into their mindset. This would never be okay! He could adapt himself into the situation but he should never think about it like that! 

Pulling himself to the edge of his bed to sit he kept messing with the hair until the thought perished. After that he sighed deeply and crawled up to his legs. He shouldn't waste time getting upset by this really. 

Coffee would do some good now. 

Without bothering to fix his hair he slouched to the machine and put some to brew. For a while he stared it with downcast expression until...

knock knock

A pair of rhythmic knocks made Kaiji wince a bit and his eyes immediately darted to the door.  Who could it be? Kaiji couldn't remember inviting anyone and the roommates would have had keys unless they had lost it or something. 

Hesitating he faltered to the door and upon reaching it placed his hand on the handle. He swallowed backing a bit and then opened it slightly peeking the person arriving. Then he took a short moment to fix his face into more calm expression and made sure that his speech was steady as he said:

"Um, wh-what do you want?"

Escape ☽ Kaiji / Gakupo

It was hard to tell what was going on in the strange and foreign hotel. Gakupo swore he saw figures or phantoms flash before his eyes, the lighting flickering every once in a while. This place was definitelynotthe average hotel you bring your family to for a vacation. Yet here he was, pacing through the quiet lobby with his sword drawn.

The quiet was only interrupted by his own calls to the powerful voice and another, even more unfamiliar person’s words.

In his state of frustration, he swiftly turned towards the source of the comment with a clearly annoyed expression on his elegant features. Noticing the stranger appeared to be a simple man besides a prevalent scar on his cheek. Kamui slowly relaxed his arms and sheathed his sword once again, keeping a close eye on the stranger as he did so.

“Why is it pointless? Surely there is someone who holds the key to this hotel…” he insisted, narrowing his eyes. “Or have you been trapped as well?”

Gakupo refused to believe that he would be stuck in this beaten-up hotel when he had much better things to be doing: singing and pleasing women, for example. Besides, if he wanted to stay at a hotel for his life, he could have picked some better than this.

"!!!"

When Kaiji's voice reached him the stranger faced him still holding the sword up. The object and the sudden movement caused Kaiji to boggle and stagger there on his place for a bit.  With a yelp Kaiji's hands were instinctively raised to cover his face though it wouldn't have been any more pleasant to have the sword on his hands or arms either but Kaiji wasn't exactly thinking about that. 

"COULD YOU NOT SWING THAT ARO--- ah."

In the middle of Kaiji's words the sword was sheathed. At least Kaiji wouldn't have to start arguing about that now. He gave a sigh feeling immediate relief. The other seemed quite irritated though, though it wasn't really Kaiji's fault. People rarely were happy to find out they were stuck and in this case possibly even forever.

"It's not just me, there's lots of people stuck here, y'know."

Kaiji sighed. It sucked but it really couldn't be helped - he really started to feel bad for the guy. The feeling when one realized what getting here meant wasn't nice.

"Look, you see... No one here seems to know a way out really. It... really seems it cannot be helped. It sucks but you can't really do anything about it it seems."

Escape ☽ Intro/Open

He gazed down the long, outstretched streets for any sign of life in the still of the night, none to be found. The only movement besides himself were flashing neon signs for motels and fast food chains. Insistent on finding himself somewhere to stay for the night in the unfamiliar town, Kamui felt pulled towards a hotel:”Hotel 666”. It didn’t have the kind of ring he was hoping for yet the man couldn’t seem to leave once he had reached the door.

The violet-haired man steps into the lobby with a small push aiding his way, his head turning back to make sure there was no one behind him. He narrowed his eyes and approached the service desk with a slight smile however staying on his guard. There is no one at the counter, only the sound of an ominous laugh and words he didn’t wish to hear.

“Welcome to Hotel 666. Enjoy your stay, for eternity.”

Pulling out his sword in a swift motion, Kamui looks around him for anyone at all. “Show your face!” he called out with anger prevalent in his voice. As the man waited for a foe to appear or even a response, he received neither and slowly made his way to the door. Attempting to push it open was useless so he decided to find someone who would tell him what was going on and trekked onwards throughout the hotel while continuing to speak to the voice he heard. “You may have won the battle, but I will not allow you to win the war.”

Kaiji should have known that taking a nap in the lobby was a bad idea but then again it wasn't like he had fallen asleep in purpose. A while ago Kaiji had been gobbling food down in rather fast pace and had overeaten by accident - he couldn't help it really. It had been really good but eating too much had made Kaiji a bit tired. Originally the plan was to go all way to his room but when he had gotten to the lobby he just lost all the motivation to climb up or even use the elevator. In other words he was too lazy for that. 

But the reason sleeping in the lobby was a bad idea was because it was the place that everyone arrived to and they were often quite noisy about it. Kaiji himself hadn't been an exception to the rule and it seemed like this person wasn't very calm either. He wasn't the one who woke him up though. The thing that woke Kaiji up was that darned spooky voice that would be there to welcome every "customer". 

But really what was with the clothing and all the weird hair that people had here. Purple hair? Really? Were they all rebelling against something? 

But really.

PURPLE.

Now he was shouting something. Kaiji was still lying on the couch his cheek against the seat and he was drooling just a bit. Like that he watched the poor soul panicking. Normally Kaiji would have immediately ran up helping but he was still a bit numb from the sleep. 

But then the guy drew a sword out causing Kaiji to bullet up into a sitting position. This could be bad. He should probably calm the guy down but that seemed a bit dangerous now that he was swinging that thing around. Who knew what he would do once he spotted Kaiji. People rarely were rational when they were panicking after all. 

So there Kaiji stared trying to figure out what to do for a while. Hesitatingly he pulled himself up wiping the drool from his face. 

"Um. That won't do any good really."
