>It's a bath?! [Hilbert]<
Hilbert just laughed, his smile widening into a grin. Joltik peered at the girl from under the fabric of the boy’s hood, shivering excitedly. “A swimming suit! Ya know…the clothes you wear to go swim?? Er…” Biting the corner of his lip, he tried to think of a way to explain the article of clothing, or rather somewhat lack of, without sounding weird. “Uhm…wait. If you don’t know what a swimming suit is then why’re you at the pool?!”
Perhaps wherever the girl was from didn’t even have such things. His amber-like eyes surveyed her briefly, taking notice of her clothing and accessories. She did seem a little out of place, or rather out of her time. “Where are you from, by the way?”
Mana’s eyes flashed, and widened with more curiosity as she noticed the small creature hiding in his hood. She stared in amazement, before moving her eyes to Hilbert’s face. “Ah…? I don’t think we have something like that…?” She frowned in thought; swimming wasn’t a common thing she was used to; there were pools, sure, but for bathing and some for occasional rituals, cleansing - not something she’d have ever used, but even in the bath, it didn’t matter if it were full or not; it wasn’t like anyone’s naked body bothered anyone else.
“I was exploring. And I just found it odd that the bath was in such a location…? At least there only seems to be one…” She trailed off, obviously thinking on the subject at hand.
She jerked her head up again at his question, eyes wide, “Eh? Egypt! What about you?”
The trainer tilted his head, but nodded in understanding. “Could be that you don’t have ‘em, or maybe you’ve just never been to one? We don’t have many where I’m from neither. Most people swim in the ocean or in rivers an’ stuff.” He snickered a little as she referred to the pool as a bath. “Well that makes some sense, but if this is a bath, sure is biggest one I’ve seen. And coldest! There should be a bath attached to yer room. This is just for swimmin’ in!” The boy shivered a bit, feeling a sense of unease washing over him. At least he hoped this wasn’t the bath. If it was he wasn’t going to be doing any washing up for a while.
When Mana’s eyes found Joltik, the little spider jumped, burrowing backwards into the fabric a moment before scuttling out onto Hilbert’s shoulder, bobbing up and down while watching her curiously. ”Egypt? I’ve never heard of that before. Is it far away?” Interest sparkled in Hilbert’s eyes, and his smile returned. “I’m from a place called Unova. I’m thinkin’ it’s pretty far from here too.”
"Maybe we don't have them....?" She frowned, thinking back to her home which was a lot of...well, desert. "We have the Nile river but that's the only big source of water around where I live...? Other pools of water are usually reserved for something else...?" Mana shrugged as she spoke; truth be told, she didn't really go swimming...ever. There was a time when Mahaad, Atem and her snuck out to their little hiding place, and they swam there but it had been a few years since she had even done that. "And...I guess...? In Egypt our baths were...large like this, but not quite so big...? They also had better location..." She trailed off, thinking about the baths in Egypt. Somehow last time she had a bath she had dragged Mahaad along with her...
"Eh? Is there...? I guess I'll have to look? There are a lot of strange things in the room so I may not have realized that it was a bath...? We didn't have anything just for swimming back home so...!"
She squeaked, her eyes going right back to Joltik as it moved to Hilbert's shoulder. Mana had honestly never seen anything like it before --! Not even a KA. Her eyes sparkled with wonder.
"...I don't know if it is? I don't know where here is so..." Blinking, Mana's eyes jumped back to Hilbert's face, "And I see...? I don't know where that is either! What's it like there!?" She nodded, "Probably!? I think this place is in another dimension...?"
