Melly (@dreamgirlfrienddiary) made this survey awhile ago, but I have been swamped with adult things recently and haven’t had time to participate. Thankfully, things have calmed down for a bit, so here we go!
When did you start playing DG and what was your first event?
May 12, 2016, which also happened to be the first day of the World Travel Event! That’s still one of my favorite events.
What was your first ever MR from the MR gacha?
Charming Little Magician. That MR makes me wish we had more cute magical girl stuff.
Who was your first girl, and why did you choose her? Has she changed since you first started the game?
I can’t remember what her original name was, but the girl who is now Eclair was my first girl. I developed the idea for girls with sweets-related names after I got my second girl Chocola (I had just played Nekopara at the time), so I renamed them to what their names are now and continued that pattern with Lolly and Sorbet.
What was your first ever NP gacha MR?
Hybrid Magical Girl. I love the design for that MR but wish the colors were a little more lively. I’d love a recolor of that outfit.
What was your first ever monthly limited MR?
Blue Margarita. I know, I know, that was basically yesterday, but you would not believe the absolute crap luck I had when it came to monthly MRs.
What was your first ever Gacha Bonus MR?
The Perfect Wife. I got so excited when they included a similar outfit in that recent booster pack.
What was your first ever App Pack MR (if you have ever bought one)?
Summer Boldness. I didn’t think that the background it came with worked very well with the outfit, but I love the outfit itself.
What was your first ever hairstyle?
Loose Pigtails Red. I don’t use that hairstyle nearly enough.
What was your first ever hairstyle other than the hairstyles from the shell shop and Momoka’s hair?
Dark Queen’s Hair Black. I’m not a huge fan of the Dark Queen’s hairstyles, but I’m never opposed to more black hairstyles in my closet.
(If you ever have), what was the first event you ever ranked in, and what did you win?
I somehow managed to rank in the World Travel event, which, as I mentioned, was the first event I ever participated in. I think it helped that I had several friends that were experienced players and gave me great pointers on how to rank (although I doubt I would have been able to do that now with how many people play DG these days). That outfit has a special place in my heart because it reminds me of those friends that stayed up with me on LINE, giving me a pep talk and encouraging me till the very end.
What is your favourite MR outfit?
AAA this is so hard??? I’m going to go with Little Loli Lady Red. I’m secretly a shameless cat lady despite never owning a cat in my life.
What is your favourite non-MR outfit?
Dress With Pup Pink because pup.
Have you reached level 100 yet? If so, when did you reach level 100 and how long did it take?
I reached level 100 on April 16, 2017. It took me close to a year (again, I started in May 2016) because I was on hiatus for approximately four months in late 2016.
How many friends do you have?
75/75. I really need to get more friends list slots;;;
How many items are in your closet right now (click on Sort the Closet)?
1937. I don’t have much due to my hiatus, my love of trading things in at the Premium Shop, and synthing.
How many girls do you have now? Do you have a favourite?
I have four girls right now. I love that my girls’ personalities balance each other out, and it’s for that reason that I can’t pick a favorite. Eclair is Sweet, Chocola is Yandere, Lolly is Princess, and Sorbet is Intelligent, and I think that that balance makes them all interesting and special in their own way.
What is your favourite personality and why?
Gosh, another hard question! I’m going to go with Princess. I just adore some of the conversations. My favorite is the conversation in which she kicks your ass at a fighting game. It makes me think of me and my boyfriend playing video games together.
What are you most proud of achieving in DG and why?
This is going to sound silly, but when I first considered playing DG, I fell in love with the Twin Spirals Gold hairstyle when I saw my friend’s girl wearing them. Once I started playing seriously, I developed a wishlist and included the Twin Spirals Gold on that list, thinking that no one could possibly be interested in trading them away. Almost a year after I started playing, someone in my current group traded me the Twin Spirals Gold. It seems a bit materialistic of me to consider getting an item the proudest moment of my playing history, but that item was something I had wanted since before I even started, and to finally own it made my play experience that much richer.
Why do you enjoy playing DG?
I have made so many great friends through this game. Unfortunately, I no longer am in contact with those friends that originally encouraged me to play, but I’ve made new friends via this app and those friends have made my experience so wonderful. This last year has been one of the most challenging to me due to IRL circumstances, but I am glad that I have DG and the friends I’ve made from it as an escape from those hardships.

I still haven’t gotten a freaking pacifier
How do you think the game could be improved?
Expanded ranking brackets, for the love of God. In my opinion, the game would seriously benefit from expanding the highest rank bracket to 400-500. What used to be a fun competitive experience has become insanely stressful, and, as I mentioned before, I and many other players use DG as an escape. Stressing about ranking is not what I would consider an escape from stress.
