Admin Introduction

Hi, my name is Jo! Though, alternatively, you can just call me Yasha(that is a genuine alternative name I've given myself. That should tell you enough about how much I like YASHA, no?). I use he/him pronouns, and I have been in the YASHA fandom for about three and a half years. I consider myself the 'leading English-language YASHA expert,' but only because I have not found anyone else who has dedicated themselves to archiving and informing people about YASHA as much as I have. You are free to prove me wrong, I HOPE you prove me wrong! One-up me, please!

I live in the US, I only speak English(unfortunately). I have one collaborator currently, @toichinagae, who has been immensely helpful in this project. Please send them some gratitude!

If you would like to follow me outside of YASHA(I have no idea why you would, as I act very differently outside of this blog,) my main tumblr account is @tummytastic, and I have a personal website where I show off more of my less YASHA-centric personality.

The Great Merging - Honestly This Should've Been How The G.D Worked From The Start

Lately I have thought quite a bit about the Google Drive folder I set up for our archive. At the start, I separated the paper materials(manga editions) from the CD and TV dramas into their own separate Google Drives. In hindsight, I should have just corralled all of the materials into one folder, and had the CD/TV dramas split into subfolders, like I have the different manga language editions set up.

So I did precisely that!

Now, you can find the CD and TV dramas in the same drive folder as the various languages of the manga!

You may also notice that there is a brand new folder as well, labeled "PROMO"! Right now, this folder contains scans of various ad pamphlets and paper ribbons, scanned by a very helpful follower of the blog @0zone-or-baldspaceuser3254 ! I intend to make a separate post about these pamphlets soon, once I can find the time to translate them and research them a bit further. I also intend to get a few more scans from my own japanese editions of some ads and pamphlets that 0zone's editions didn't have, and get those translated as well.

Sorry for the lack of updates in the last year and a half or so. My life has gotten extremely busy and, as much as it hurts to say it, I lost quite a bit of steam after our work on the Chinese scans ground to a halt for a while. I still have hope that one day we'll be able to find Indonesian and Korean scans, but as of right now it's seeming more and more like a pipe dream.

I hope to do more with this archive and it's blog soon enough, please bear with me :)

Ok this just came to me there now cuz I was looking at the Yasha film stuff… why not, instead of using the google drive… also put it on YouTube? Mayhaps it wouldn’t work but

Unfortunately, I worry that we would be subject to copyright takedowns. I have been keeping track of uploads on Dailymotion and Vimeo(of which there have been a few) and many of them have disappeared lately. As of now, Google Drive is probably the best place to host them.

A Long And Difficult Battle Was Won! - We Have The Chinese Scans!

Good morning, everyone! I come with very very good news. After a long battle(namely @toichinagae's hard drive giving out on them and losing half of the scans, then another of their computers dying, and the repair place taking a long time to get back to them... etc.) our arsenal of YASHA editions has just grown!

We now have English, Japanese, Turkish, and Chinese scans in our archive!

A note on these scans, they are noticeably of lesser quality than our English and Japanese scans.

I'm not sure if this is an issue with the Chinese editions themselves(I'd have to own a set of them myself to figure that out, and that's a pipe dream at the moment lol), or if whoever scanned these editions did so with a less-than-stellar scanner. But either way, we finally have them!

We're alive! Sorry!

Hello everyone, deepest, deepest apologies for the radio silence as of late, both I and Prin's lives have been quite busy! Not to get that much into it, but I somewhat-recently moved into a new place, and I have been busy with getting stable since, so I haven't had much time nor motivation to work on the archive or on YASHA research in general. Prin also had some computer issues, and lost quite a few volumes of the Chinese translation, which they are currently re-downloading by hand. Indonesian scans have yet to be found, still.

There have been some breakthroughs(mostly found by Prin @toichinagae, I'm quite rusty with research and haven't found much lol), but we don't know enough about them quite yet for me to write a post about them. Please stay tuned for the future!

Slow Goings, But Still Working Hard

Since it's been about a month since I last updated this blog, I thought I'd make a short post showing where we're at in the archival process.

I am still attempting to find Indonesian scans. Nobody has reached out to me about the Indonesian translation since I made the previous post, and as far as I'm aware we have yet to start downloading the French translation. I still have hope that we will find scans of the Indonesian translation, but if need be, we will create some ourselves.

Prin is very close to finishing renaming and converting the Chinese scans, and it's very likely that they will be added to the archive in the coming days, at the latest.

Prin has also sourced a translator, and the cd drama is being worked on. I can't give more details than that at the moment, but stay tuned. ;)

They've also told me that they have a lot in store when it comes to YASHA features in magazines, so keep an eye on @toichinagae, too!
