What's Next on the Shop?
It's a brand new month! Which means it's time for an update on our inventory, we've currently been hard at work brainstorming, creating, and designing products just for you. This month it's all about taking a few more risks to bring everyone something unique to their style.
Bags, Bags, and more Bags!
If you're a regular viewer of our shop, you might have noticed that we haven't updated our purses & bags section in quiet some time. That's because we are being a little more picky in the merchants we use. We want to bring you products that last longer made with quality materials. However, if you're waiting for a section update, you don't have to wait any longer. Come July 5th we are added some adorable new crossbody bags that will have you swooning. Who doesn't want a quirky trusty bag by their side?
Vintage is the way to go!
Vintage is a personal style of ours, however, since the creation of our ebay page and depop shop. We've been a little inclined in the vintage wear department. Refashioning authentic items to restore them back to the former glory. It provides for that unique aspect we always push plus hello, who doesn't want a 1950's summer dress? These are truly one of a kind items. Keep an eye on our website update with the particular section. Date coming soon.
Where are the prints?
I'm sure there are a few people out there wondering why there hasn't been new prints in some time... or maybe not. Either way our graphic designer has been working hard on update our website so sadly print designs have been temporarily put on hold. Not to worry as we are still putting out content on our Tumblr and Instagram with handlettering prints. These are available on those outlets for now but we promise we are putting not new prints soon.
Tee Designs
Like our prints our shirt designs have taken a bit of a backseat with everything that has been going on. Not this month! New designs are currently in the works as we continue to make renovations. I can't say to much about what will be on the designs but I can say they will be inspired by vintage and retro styles. These designs will be in stock mid-July.
Finally! New sunnies
Just like everything else the shop's accessories section is getting a brand new coat of paint. Not only will we have custom one of a kind sunglasses but fun quirky sunglasses as well. For this section, I am the most excited about because sunglasses/accessories can give any outfit that extra punch it needs.
There is an air of excitement here at Mojave Designs as we get into the month of July. All new updates across the board will commences and we cannot wait to show you what's in store. Stay tuned!
Stay focus and work hard
We always need a little bit more donuts in our lives, am I right? From cute accessories to clothing and so much more, the doughnut trend is here to stay. So why not join in the fun with this simple DIY? It’s super easy to accomplish and you may even have some of the items around your household.
This is one of two DIY's we will be featuring with a donut theme. Stay tuned for next weeks mystery DIY.
What you will need.
Materials:
A sweater or long sleeve top of any kind
Felt (note: you can use any material of your choosing)
Glue or sewing kit
Scissors
Fabric paint
A round template (note: I’m using a small mason jar but there are tons of other templates on Google)
Preparation time: 10-40 minutes depending on whether you are sewing the pieces together.
Steps:
Step 1- Set up your template on the part that you desire for the base. I’m using a light beige color that will be the actually doughnut. I also recommend using size 9″ for your template, the size is not to large but not to small.
Step 2- For the frosting I’m using a bright pink color. There is templates for this part as well but it’s simple to draw free hand.
Step 3- Once you’ve got your items drawn and cut out, you can either sew the pieces together or simply glue them. Since I’m not very good at sewing I’ll be using an all purpose glue. You can utilize fabric glue or hot glue.
Step 4- Give the glue a minute or two to set and then grab some colorful fabric paint. Since my frosting is a bright pink I’m using colors such as white, blue, red, and green.
Step 5- This is the finally step and can be a bit tricky. Lay out your sweater so that the front is facing down and mark where you desire the patches to appear. I recommend putting on the sweater and marking for more accuracy. Once you mark your place either glue the patches or sew them. If gluing be sure the glue is strong for a better hold.
There you go! Your donut elbow patches are ready to show off. Remember you can tweak this design any which way you’d like. Use glitter card stock paper for a subtle look or bold fabric for a funky feel. Don’t forget to let me know how your DIY project turned out!

It's no secret that we use a lot of sources to help create our designs, Pinterest being one of the main advocates. This summer is all about bright colors, vintage style, and eye catching typography. Wicker bags a must have this summer and I've been obsessed with getting my hands on a few for the Ebay shop. They match any summer outfit and when styled right, it can give that prefect vintage vibe.

Currently we have sold and are selling tons of items with embroidery. It is the trend I've been loving seen the late 90's and I can't get enough. My favorite is bright embroidered flowers with a white background.

Vintage dresses are a dream come true and a personal must have in my wardrobe. Currently I've been revamping vintage dresses from the 1950's-1960's. Galaxy themed items are one my favorites list for a few months now, e.i our very own galaxy detachable peter pan collar. However, the new designer handbags for the 17' summer collections are out and it's all about the stars. I've been looking forward to designing my own bag, perhaps next month... hint, hint.
