we all know splat1's finalfest, callie said she was fine with marie winning & was happy for her. and she was! but overthinking about it made her feel worse about herself, like she's not good enough. she didn't want to be a burden on marie, so she didn't say anything about it, but it showed in her blog posts.
nonetheless, she decided to pursue an acting career, starring in primarily drama films and shows.
callie could never shake the feeling of someone watching her. even over the internet. she was too used to seeing all of her fans cheer her on in the crowd below her, that it bled into her personal life.
since callie is a famous pop idol, she was very sought after in the film business. she preferred the gritty crime dramas so she could separate her actress image from her "innocent" idol image. unfortunately, this meant at least one director would use having her on the show to their own advantage.
as much as it killed her, callie craved the attention. it made her anxious to step out of her own home and yet it made her feel wanted. she would make herself uncomfortable if it just meant a few extra people saw her.
when callie & marie were on their visit to calamari county, marie waited what felt like forever for callie to show up. callie had ditched the very last minute and didn't tell marie (or anyone at all), instead running off to "somewhere else".
news outlets pestered marie and their fans were in ultimate distress over the news of the disappearance.
switching the topic to hypnocallie; i think she saw the large amount of octarians that are squid sisters fans, and it made her super egotistical. she would make mean comments and say it was "nothing but jokes". she pestered octavio a whole lot to get whatever she wanted. she was annoying overall, and the whole glamour of having the callie cuttlefish hang out around you, very quickly wore off.
she didn't show it, but hypnocallie was a little aware of herself. she didn't want to be seen vulnerable ever.
after getting the hypnoshades off, callie barely remembers anything she said or did, but she has a deep sense of regret. she didn't want to talk to anyone because she felt like she had wronged everyone she knew.
she dealt with frequent & intense mood swings and physical pain. she couldn't even shake off the feeling that she messed everything up and that her public image was completely tarnished.
callie couldn't stop thinking about how she'd fallen far from grace, that she was disgusting for exposing herself like that for attention.
she stayed inside her room / apartment and marie took care of her for around 2 years while callie was getting back on her feet. fans sent her letters, but she rarely even read them. they sent best wishes to callie over the internet, but she never took those to heart.
it took another year for her to begin to resume her acting work; though it started to feel like the scripts were written as a mockery of her own life. she could barely even tell what was part of her show and what's real.
and as much as it hurt her, callie wanted to wear those hypnoshades again. they distracted her and cleared her mind from the rampant intrusive & negative thoughts. she had picked up drinking as a means of coping, but it just couldn't erase those thoughts.
by the time of splat3, callie is mostly fine. she forgets to take care of herself every now and then, but she has no problems meeting up with fans or performing. she's happy she no longer has to perpetuate any fake image that an agency decided for her.
she's stressed that she'll eventually make the wrong move and everything will come crashing down.
