it’s with a heavy heart that admods have decided to shut down mokseongkrp indefinitely. we would firstly like to apologize to any of the current reserves, applicants and all our members who were planning on taking up a new muse, as this might be a bit sudden. we’ve spent a lot of time on this rp, building this universe in hopes of creating a place where writers can have a great time/experience. because of this, we have met some incredible characters with the sweetest muns behind them, so this has been a rough decision for us to make. but it’s been a turbulent three (almost four) months, and it’s taken too much of a toll on us for us to continue this roleplay in a good mindset.

we’ve tried our best to not let it affect us, but we’ve been receiving hatred for months. anonymous — for the most part — but also from within the rp. at this point, it’s starting to feel like we’re being ostracized from our own creation. and honestly? fuck that, lmao. we’ve tried to ignore it and carry on like usual, but enough is enough. to put it quite frankly: we’re not having fun anymore. for something that’s so incredibly time consuming — as we have put a lot of effort into keeping this rp afloat — it’s not worth the stress/anxiety we’re experiencing if we’re not enjoying it. writing is meant to be a hobby for us, not a 24/7 job. mokseongkrp has had over at least 50 members, and while we’re incredibly grateful for the run we’ve had, it’s obvious to us that the krp scene is incredibly small and we cannot accommodate each and every one of you without stepping on someone else's toes in the process.

the admins would like to thank mod a for helping us keep the main running, as well as watching over the server in our absence. she’s done a great deal for us and we truly appreciate it.

to us, rping is meant to be fun and stress free, a place to vibe and let our creativity run free. at this point it’s not, so we’re ready to exit stage left. we’re very sorry towards our members who’ll now lose this place for their writing, but we hope you understand. upon posting this, we’re planning on keeping everything up for another 24 hours. after this, the discord server will be deleted, and the main blog will be password protected.

another quidditch saturday here at mokseong university, and this time we are back to the same pair-ups as the very first matches of the season! meaning we’ll have toseong playing against geumseong, followed by suseong playing against hwaseong. last time it ended with a defeat for both suseong and toseong, while hwaseong and geumseong managed to secure the first wins of the season. we wonder how the teams will faire this time! the games are, as always, decided using a random generator to make it fair for everyone. the generated matches are streamed on discord every other saturday for those wishing to join. a spreadsheet with all quidditch info is coming, but for now, enjoy these two summaries of the games!

toseong vs. geumseong

expectations are high for today’s first match, toseong vs. geumseong! last time the two teams faced off, geumseong came out on top, but things might be different this time, considering toseong seeker park haejin’s stunt with the snitch last time. will he be able to pull it off again, we wonder? well, we’ve got no time to lose, so let’s see! sure enough, toseong seems to be starting off strong, with chaser park soohwa starting off the match with a goal. however, that seems to be about it for the points for a while, as what follows is a lot of misses, from both teams. park haejin seems to have his eyes on the snitch again, but the snitch doesn’t seem as eager as last time. trouble in paradise? while this is going on, the teams’ beaters fight it out amongst themselves, as toseong beater jeon yeonjun effectively knocks out geumseong beater lee jaeho. the chasers of both teams seem to have gotten their heads in the game, with chasers claude ahn and kevin seo of team toseong and geumseong, respectively, sticking out as the star chasers of this match! the beaters keep going at it, with toseong beater shin taeyeon now joining the fray. but, speaking of beater, has anyone seen geumseong's second beater nathaniel moon yet? between this and the last match, the captain does seem awfully distracted — perhaps worrying about where the season is going for his team? both team chasers battle for the quaffle, with no sights of the snitch anywhere, as it seems to have escaped park haejin’s grasp. in better news, though, the geumseong captain seems to have finally woken up, finally joining the game as he performs the... not so impressive feat of barely knocking the opposing beater shin taeyeon out. seems like the entire geumseong team is in dire need of practice. well, except for kim hyunki, apparently, as the geumseong seeker has suddenly caught the snitch out of nowhere, ending the match at 270 points to 90! perhaps a surprising end result for both sides, but we suspect it’s a welcoming experience for geumseong to finally reel in another win!

suseong vs. hwaseong

this is suseong’s second chance to prove themselves against hwaseong, and we hope they’re here to win today! let’s see if it actually turns out that way, hm? the hwaseong chaser team, consisting of xander maxwell, liz hwang and jung jieun are immediately thrown into the fray, scoring goals for hwaseong before suseong has the chance to do much of anything — with the exception of their own chaser, stephanie tanaka, who seems to be pulling the weight for her team in the beginning stages of the match. chaser and suseong captain callie lee soon starts scoring some points too, but the star of water doesn’t quite seem to be able to catch up to their fiery rivals. but— oh! what’s this? suseong seeker noh taejun seems to have his eyes on the snitch, but then— BAM! a bludger sent by none other than hwaseong beater gyeon kiyoung hits the seeker, effectively knocking him out. and there comes kang levi, aaaaaand he catches the snitch! what genius strategy, as expected from the star of fire! another short match for suseong against hwaseong, resulting in another devastating loss. the final scores come in at 240 points to 30! ouch, we feel for you, suseong!

“i’d be signed onto a professional team in the quidditch league.” a lie. he’d catch a glimpse of himself caring for a hippogriff, a smile beaming across his features. “my team would go on to win the world cup.” he smiles, ignoring visions of him pursuing a career in magizoology. “i’d be happily married with a beautiful family and then i’d retire as the greatest quidditch keeper in history.” he tips his head with a polite smile. “i really hope all of that comes true.”

03. describe what you saw the last time you saw a boggart. if you have not ever had the displeasure of running into one, describe what you think a boggart would show you.

“i came across a boggart one time when i was younger.” the horrifying image of his screaming grandmother crosses his mind, a vision that continues to haunt today. “it took the form of this huge snake, fangs bared and everything. god, it was terrifying.” for his sake he hoped he was becoming a better liar.

04. describe the wood and core material your wand is made up of, and say something about what you think this says about your personality.

“i have a chestnut wood wand with a unicorn hair core, and to be honest, i don’t really know what this says about me.” a hand rubs his nape, a sheepish smile curling the corners of his lips. “i read a book on wands probably back when i was a grade schooler but if i’m recalling it correctly, chestnut wood wands typically prefer those who are skilled in flying, herbology, and those who have a proclivity for magical creatures…” he pauses before clearing his throat. “i don’t really remember anything about cores but think i’m a pretty good flier so… my wand says i’m a good flier i guess?”

05. now that you’ve been sorted into a house, why do you think this particular house was chosen for you? please mention which qualities of your house you feel you represent.

“they say those in geumseong are fairly open minded, compassionate, and non-judgemental and i think - well i hope - that i exemplify all of those.” he nods, puffing his chest in pride. “i’d like to think of geumseong as a safe haven - there’s always a place for anyone and everyone. i hope that others also see me as such - a safe place where they’ll always be accepted no matter what.” he presents a soft smile, eyes crinkling slightly at the corners. “people are always welcome to seek comfort in me, just like my house.”

“my patronus is a dog – a st bernard. st. bernards…. i think used to be rescue dogs. like they used to go find people stranded and bring them back. they’re large, kind and loving dogs. really loyal. i never really pictured myself as a dog person before but i feel like it does represent myself and who i am as a person. i’m always giving one hundred and ten percent to everyone i’m close to. i wouldn’t go as far to say that i rescue people but i don’t think a patronus is supposed to be literal, right? more metaphorical….i never gave it much thought before.”

“i think if i ever saw one it would be different than when i was younger. i’m not sure if the mirror changes as you mature or something but i know that if i were to look at it right now i would see my family. all of us would be happy and healthy and together. and my younger sister natalia….she’d have all the newest clothes and be so excited with everything she gets to have. instead of having to struggle growing up like i had, she’d get everything she’d need and want. i know for a fact that would be the only thing i’d see now.”

“i– okay, i don’t like talking about my boggart. i only did it once in ilvermorny but i was so horrified by what i saw that i cried. my professor had to step in and shoot the spell. i was embarrassed even if a lot of kids couldn’t perform the spell the first time but my boggart had freaked out some other kids too. my boggart is the exact opposite of what my mirror or erised image is. that’s all i can say without picturing it in my head again.”

“i have a thirteen inch english wood wand with a phoenix core. this is actually my third wand. my first two were unicorn hair cores – the first i broke over the summer because i was being particularly careless with my neighbourhood friends. they thought i just snapped a stick and threw it out for me. had to get a new one. the second one i had broken by messing up a spell. it was mended a few times but you can’t keep mending a wand forever so i had to choose a new one. i wasn’t expecting to get a phoenix core one since my previous two had been the same despite the different woods for each. i guess it means i’ve evolved as a person. or maybe i’m still evolving. i’m unsure what it means. maybe i should look it up or ask a wand making major.”

“i feel as though i fit toseong to a tee. it’s how my mother raised me, after all. dependability, hard work and ambition are probably my core traits. i have to make it or else my entire family is just going to waste away to nothing. i feel like people in toseong who truly exemplify the toseong spirit are hard to come by. we’re rare and few between but when you find one of us then you’ve probably hit the jackpot.”

“my patronus is a falcon! funnily enough, it was actually my mothers first patronus until hers changed according to my father. i think it’s fitting for me, they look quite fierce, don’t they? they have that look about them, really mysterious and deep eyes, they always look like they’re ready to pounce. kind of like me, always ready for a new adventure. they’re fast, good hunting skills, prey animals too - my father says a falcon suits me. he says it shows i’m confident, determined and ready for a challenge. but honestly? i don’t care all too much for the meanings, i don’t want to think into it too much, i just think a falcon is pretty sick. get a picture of me and a falcon, put them together and compare. it works, right? hey now, calm down, stop staring at me.”

“honestly? myself. best version of myself, on the right track and right road, doing well. not much different from myself now, just.. better. there’s nobody else, but i can tell my friendship group is solid, sort of like a sense. i’ve learnt a lot, and i’m advancing. i’m an excellent wizard, just like my mother was and.. not having to abide by my father all of the time. i can just be myself.”

“the last time i saw a boggart.. really wasn’t a pleasant experience. mainly because my father was there, and my boggart was literally.. my father. he definitely wasn’t happy, but what does he expect when he’s blamed me for my mothers death ever since? of course i’m not gonna be best friends with him, especially with the way he treats me. constantly overbearing, pushy, barely holds a conversation with me other than when he forces me to do something, and amongst other things. not really something i like to publicise though.”

04. describe the wood and core material your wand is made up of, and say something about what you think this says about your personality.

“larch wood, with phoenix feather core, ten and a half inches. apparently larch like, instills confidence and courage and those are two things that would be associated with me. when i first got my wand, i was told that it’s quite powerful, and nice looking, but also quite hard to handle which i definitely figured out not long after i got it. but it’s said that once it’s paired with someone, it’s a solid match. phoenix feather core, picky when choosing owners, hardest to tame, suits me considering i love adventures and a challenge. is this a unique mix? maybe, i don’t know. when i was being told about the core and wood, it felt quite.. deep? considering our wands are sort of drawn to us, say a bit about us, now looking back it feels like my soul was being looked into. it’s a nice wand, i like it. i don’t plan to get a new one.”

“ah, hwaseong! i knew it. no other house spoke to me the way hwaseong did, so i’m not surprised. confident? that’s me. adventurous? count me in. bold and reckless? for sure, i like to keep people on their toes. where’s the fun if you always follow the rules? i need some excitement in my life, and if anybody ever needs a change or to do something a bit daring, you know who to come to. i’m excited. i feel like hwaseong is the best place for me, and i can just, be myself.”

“i’m always in shock when i say this but my patronus is a phoenix. a phoenix rises from it’s ashes and i like to think i’ve done the same given everything i’ve been through. but it’s not just the fact that a phoenix rises again; a phoenix is also loyal and can carry heavy loads. a close friend of mine had told me my patronus was the perfect representation of me. he said, ‘you’re different. we’ve been together our whole lives and i still can’t figure out how you manage to cope with so much loss and harshness the world has to offer. you could be carrying the weight of the world on your shoulders and i don’t think you’d ever ask to switch places with anyone.’ that’s what he thinks, and i have to say, he read my mind.”

“i would see a simple house on a hill. there’s a nice garden in the front yard while the back is covered with little toys and a swing set. there are children running around with bare feet, feeling the grass between their toes and there’s another figure. a woman carrying a baby. she’s laughing, smiling, as if there wasn’t any harm in the world. it’s a loving family and everyone is happy. i guess i would be looking at love and happiness.”

“fortunately i’ve never had the displeasure of running into one but, i’m sure the boggart would show me my father’s body in the middle of the street, my mother’s body at home, or the orphanage in flames. i’m sure i would be confused, but much more frightened and in shock. i think if i saw any of these things, especially if i saw them when i was a child, i would think of a plan to try to prevent these things from happening. now i wish i saw a boggart when i was younger…”

“my wand is thirteen inches, made out of mahogany while it’s core is from unicorn’s tail. i’ve learned that a mahogany tree symbolizes strength and protectiveness while having unicorn’s tail hair as it’s core can make it pretty loyal to me.” “like my wand, i’m protective of people, especially my friends and family. i don’t like seeing people get hurt, especially when i know i could have done something to help. i’m just… there for people. sometimes you just need someone to be right behind you to help you back up to continue the fight. i had many people in my life that helped me up, and i want to do the same for others.”

“truthfully, i thought i was going to be sorted into tuseong. there were plenty of qualities i thought matched well with me, but i was sorted into suseong instead. not like that’s bad or anything because i think it’s a great house. i heard that those in suseong are loyal, kind, and passionate. i think loyalty is important and i’ve always tried to be loyal and kind to everyone i meet. i’m not just loyal to people but also loyal to beliefs—take for example, i believe you can do or be anything in the world if you put in the effort. i’m passionate about helping others and trying to do good. i don’t want people to get hurt.”
