ethan’s seeing in black and white and jack’s across the room asking “you better now?” giving him time to recuperate and get up to continue their chase like it’s some fun bonding thing to him he’s such a dad i missed him

one of my absolute favorite scenes from biohazard is during the first jack chase when he severs ethan’s leg / ankle with his shovel and places a med bottle across the room, beckoning and encouraging ethan to crawl over to get it from him. and i know i’m looking into this too much but this little part always stuck out to me because of how.... paternal he really seems? at face value it’s just developing the character and perhaps a little creepy given how the bakers just accept him that quickly, but i feel like it could be seen as like... a mold rebirth for ethan? (as well as the beginning of how easy it is for ethan to regen health after severe injuries like that) like a parent encouraging their child to take their first steps. given that ethan is dead from the start i’ve just been thinking about this small part in particular and how much harder it hits
