Portland, Oregon makes a lot more sense when you learn that most of the state of Oregon used to be sundown towns. It was literally illegal to live or travel there if you weren’t white. That carries into a lot of the states’ culture today even with how progressive it’s gotten towards other issues.

It's a shima-enaga (シマエナガ, Aegithalos caudatus japonicus), also known as a snow fairy (雪の妖精). Native to Hokkaido in Japan. The birbest birb to ever birb.

This is an American southwestern desert quail! AKA Callipepla gambelii. They are super shy and have unique calls and a very silly dongle on their heads. They are also exclusively prey animals, so its rather hard to get close. I grew up with them around my living spaces, so I learned to love their calls in the mornings and evenings as well as their tap-tap feet on the roof of my home. I’ve definitely made males angry without realizing I was impeding on their group feeding (oops 😅). Love these guys, and I still don’t know why their eggs are eaten at the size they are, and I’d feel bad having one even if it’s "ethically" sourced. They’re too adorable!

how do i know if something is AI? use your brain and recall what you learned throughout your life. i remember learning in school that most birds that are super young may not even have feathers yet. theyre blind, slimy, weird, and ugly. but besides that, i have literally seen hummingbird babies grow up. that’s not a baby. it’s just some pixar wannabe bullshit. the babies become as big as their parents when they develop their feathers and coloration. stop making this slop. it does nothing for anyone. thanks.
