Nick chuckled at the other’s attempt at a threat, finding it quite cute that he even tried. “We both know if you wanted someone dead, they’d be dead.” The whole agency was aware of what their leader’s son was capable of but they were also aware of what he was incapable of doing. “But isn’t that the reason why you left?” He added as he squatted down, placing his hand on his former partner and freezing him into solid ice. He shattered the frozen body before looking up to the other and adding, “You couldn’t do that?”
A sad truth, but one the other male was right in. With a swish of his hand he could watch a person’s body shatter into nothingness, except the only people he’d been able to do that to where the people that attempted to keep him from leaving Sentinel Services. A bitter and angry chuckle escaped him, “No, I left because unlike the rest of you pathetic idiots I had the capacity to feel...the capacity to see that what I was doing was wrong.” He explained, not expecting it to have much effect over the male in front of him but either way he needed to correct him. “I couldn’t kill innocent people..my own kind. But push me and i’ll have no issue killing you or anyone who comes looking.” He knew the things they’d done, if he had to defend the people he cared about or himself...if it needed to come down to that. Then he’d do it. “Don’t you get tired of playing the lackey?”
“i’ve practically turned it into a art form.” She said bashfully. “Getting caught in my own world…” She gave out a sigh. “Thank you though, for being a understanding person.”
“Someone needs to be right?...especially around these parts.” Linc added with a warm smile now, sometimes he found himself wondering just how he was capable of it being who he was and all.
Nicholas watched boringly as his new partner was soon on the ground unconscious. He never would have expected to see a former Sentinel Service operative harm one of his past brethren, especially the son of their current head of the organization. “Lincoln.” He said plainly, his eyes tracing back from his frozen vegetable of a partner back to the other. “Sadly, that sack of stupid on the floor is my new partner.” He sighed, seriously contemplating on leaving him like that on the floor. “What are you doing in New York?”
In all earnest he’d considered freezing his former ally and making a run for it but somehow with him already being seen, it all felt one step too risky and he certainly didn’t need his dad or more likely his lackeys, turning up at his door. “Just..passing through figured i’d stick around for a while; hotel food kinda sucks but it’s better than nothing.” He knew how they worked and he also knew Nic wouldn’t give two fucks just like the rest of them because that’s how they were. So he was just panting a picture where they couldn’t follow it up. “You should tell your new partner to stay outta my way, otherwise you’ll be needing another.”
After the incident that had set him on his course of turning his back on his father and SS, he often refused to use his powers to harm people; instead and not too unlike the guy that now lay out cold on the ground, Linc just froze them long enough to knock them out.
“You should seriously be more careful...-” he gestured toward the guy on the floor. “They’re not known for being the kindest people.” Take it from him...he knew first hand just about how unkind they truly were. “You good though?”
“You know what’d be great right about now? An actual bottle of anything strong.” Clarice mumbled under her breath. Anything, to forget that awful nightmare, to brush the memories under the rug once more.
“Yeah that’s kinda a big mood if I ever heard one...-” Scotch maybe? Bourbon. Sometimes it felt like he didn’t drink enough with all the shit he’d been through, though it was far more to do with not getting the chance.”Absinthe is bomb is you wanna feel that hit straight away: that stuff is like insanely strong.”
“Yeah, don’t worry Charlie I’ll be home soon.” She assured the girl on the other line. “Yes, I love you too. By–” She collided with another, her phone going flying. “Crap.” She turned to face the other. “Sorry about that.”
The collision caused him to jump, though he was able to gather himself enough to freeze the phone before it fell to the floor and indeed move to hold it out to her. “No biggy...trust me.” Lincoln added with a small smile. “I can get wrapped up in my own world too sometimes.”
One moment he was leaping free of an explosion on the ship. So much for trying to keep things quiet, Steve thought to himself. He tucked his legs under him and somersaulted, spinning until he came straight down, aiming for the desk. A perfect three point superhero landing. Only it wasn’t the deck of a ship. He was kneeling on the ground… a bit of asphalt, it seemed. His head raised, blue eyes starting to take in the surroundings. He wasn’t on some ocean somewhere anymore. Buildings around him were in ruins. Smoke rose from distant fires out of sight, but the sky was darkened enough from it to cast everything in a dim, hazy light. It smelled… of the city. Steve had seen enough in World War II to tell the wreck of a city fraught and destroyed by war. His senses went on high as he slowly rose to his full six foot two height and he took in a calming breath. “Where am I… and what’s happened here?” he asked, certainly, more than ever, a man out of time.
Growing up under the control of the organization that deemed the Avengers no more than a symbol of what not to be, had often meant the mutant’s judgements were conditioned but even as a child it had been hard not to envy or even idolise some of what that team did...not that he’d ever been allowed to admit to such things openly while his father was still a part of his life. So of course when a rather familiar figure rose from the ground, he found himself emitting a chuckle.
“Well buddy, this is New York..2033 but if I was you i’d get out of that costume as soon as possible...-the Avengers aren’t big around here anymore.” That was the short and simple truth.
LINCOLN BURROWS.24.MUTANT. SON OF A CURRENT SS LEADER.From 2033:
Is the reformed son of an SS leader that turned his back on them four years ago, after he saw the error of their ways. He’s also the roommate of Abby. As well as the police partner of Andy who also happens to be another roommate.
Born in 2009 as the son of one of the people that would become a leader in Sentinel Services, he was soon conditioned following the discovery of his abilities to believe that what he would do as he grew up was right. His dad would often convince him that he was nothing more than a weapon to be used and that no one would ever care for him.
Over the years he had instances where he began to distrust the people he called family, but they were all he knew and when SS was set up, he followed the orders he was given.
Not too unlike other Mutants in the organization, his father forced him to take the drug Kick that made his abilities even stronger than they already were. So he could indeed use this to his advantage and be one of the most powerful members of the mutants involved in the organization.
He helped SS capture a great number of mutants but when he was asked to kill he refused and his father called him weak, forcing him into completing what he was asked (he still has problems sleeping because of that).
Eventually come the age of 20, Linc left; he’d seen all that SS was doing and he hated it. In his escape he killed several SS mutants and made a quick exit.
He changed his name to Burrows so that he couldn’t be found so easily and attempted to live the life he’d never got the chance to. Even more so finding a way to help people.
Powers:
These many unique and special abilities all have to do with anything and everything that all molecules and atoms are entirely made up of:
Molecular Acceleration: speeding up molecules to the extent that they either catch fire or melt or speeding one’s own molecules up.
Molecular Adhesion: the ability to cling to solid surfaces and move your body at will even without overt locomotive features.
Molecular Alteration: the ability to alter your molecular structure to the structure of anything you touch.
Molecular Cleaning: the ability to clean toxic or contaminated molecules. Ex: cleaning the poison out of water or the toxic molecules out of the air so you can breath.
Molecular Cloning: ability to have an advanced form of meiosis. All your cells and molecules duplicate themselves at the exact same time, creating a clone.
Molecular Combination: can mix the molecules of any objects.
Molecular Combustion: speeding up molecules so much that they tear causing an explosion.
Molecular Copying: the ability to copy another’s molecules and shapeshift into a copy of them.
Molecular Deceleration: slowing down molecules to make something move in slow-motion.
Molecular Destabilization: suppresses the atomic charge, that causes protons and electronics to disintigrate into dust.
Molecular Dispersion: splitting the molecules and sending them through space, destroying the desired target.
Molecular Distortion: ability to move through solid matter by disabling binding forces, causing the matter to crumble, or break down as you pass through it.
Molecular Immobilization: stopping the molecules of something in motion so that it completely stops moving.
Molecular Inhibition: lowering the temperature of molecules so that something freezes.
Molecular Manipulation: manipulating molecules to change the form of something.
Molecular Moisture Conversion: ability to transform people into moisture molecules and transport them over great distances.
Molecular Moisture Inversion: ability to freeze all of someone’s water molecules.
Molecular Oscillation: ability to vibrate one’s molecules at a high frequency.
Molecular Reapplication: can put dispersed molecules back together.
Molecular Replication and Creation: can literally create one’s very own molecules and atoms should they be disintegrated exponentially. Example: replicate or create new molecules of oxygen to can breathe in a close place.
Molecular Reversion: can revert any object or person back to its original form that has been tampered with by another Molecular Ability.
Molecular Separation: can separate molecules that are mixed together. Ex; separating air and water molecules underwater to create air bubbles.
Molecular Teleportation: can disperse molecules of an object or one’s self and move them somewhere else.
Molecular Transmutation: the ability to alter the molecular structure of beings/objects.
