Girls’ Generation’s Seohyun made a surprise appearance at Samjiyon Band’s special performance in Seoul for the PyeongChang Winter Olympics and Paralympics. She joined North Korean singers on stage (including the woman who is considered North Korea’s best singer) and performed “Our Wish”, a song that yearns for the reunification of the two Koreas.  The South Korean presidential office selected 1,550 people to attend the concert: state officials, the mayor of Seoul, representatives of international organizations, reunification organizations, foreign affairs ministry, leaders of industry, and culturally-important artists. In addition, the North Korean ensemble requested Seohyun specifically on the same day the concert was to take place. A pianist of the ensemble stated that, “In North Korea, SNSD is really the best of the best… and North Korea doesn’t have a group that sings and dances, right? Please stop and see, it’s SNSD.” (trans)

As expected, Girls’ Generation is really THE Nation’s Representative Girl Group, and Seohyun remains our pride. I am eternally proud to be a SONE.
