As an element, carbon is fundamental to life; similarly, Carbon Dragons are often regarded as a symbolic foundation of biological existence, reflecting the fact that all known life on Earth is carbon-based.
Carbon Dragons display a wide range of physical forms depending on their structural variation or based on who they bond with. Common traits include:
- Scales resembling graphite or diamond
- Diamond-like speckling beneath the wings
- A trailing spine that may appear gaseous, coal-like, graphitic, or in rare cases, crystalline (diamond)
- Diamond horns or jaw mandibles
This Carbon Dragon is Methane, a single father raising four hydrogen dragonets. This reflects carbon’s strong bonding affinity, particularly with hydrogen. Thus Organic Chemistry.

Carbon: The newest elemental, she’s eager to prove she isn’t half-baked. She’s stubborn to a fault but works well with others. Hydrogen’s deemed her the new leader of CHNOPS (So she can avoid responsibility)
Nitrogen: One of the older elements, she’s developed a reliable, stable personality. This is contrasted by ALL of her neighbors… sorry Nitrogen.
Phosphorus: Excitable and high-energy, this explosive element will quickly lose his cool. Though I’ve heard he’s been getting into meditation lately
Sulfur: Disagreeable and very judgy, Sulfur excels at gossip, confiding with other sulfurs, and sinking in water.
Hydrogen: The first element, Hydrogen used to singlehandedly maintain order over the periodic table. Now, she frequently avoids doing anything… other than forming compounds.
Oxygen: flirty and empty headed at a glance, this element is responsible for 90% of CHNOPS problems. Oxygen follows her heart. (Which tells her blowing up people is nice) as a result, she’s fairly unpopular to many.
Carbon & Phosphorous shred waves, Nitrogen’s here to relax, Oxygen & Hydrogen came to show off, and Sulfur… well he can’t exactly swim.
Unlike those funny metal elements, these guys are perfectly fine with the wind & waves… though I guess when you’re composed of the stuff it’s a different story.
All of these guys are essential for organic life, though I guess they found time in their “totally” busy schedules to take time off… hold on… they’ve never had jobs at all!?!?

Iridium is about 2.8x heavier than Iron, harder, and is one of the most corrosion resistant metals. When you're that aggressively anti-bond, Anything looks like a problem. Iron meanwhile rusts, is softer and is MUCH lighter. The other elements are still unsure if there's going to be anything left.

How Oxides form? Why Fluorine is… well… why she’s like that? Now you can! Read a bit more about em down below!
Hydrogen (She/Her): The oldest elemental, this absentee elemental holds incredible amounts of star-like energy. Too bad most of her energy is devoted to oxygen…
Helium (They/Them): Frequent Partygoer, Helium can always be found where the party is. They enjoy this pastime with Beryllium!
Lithium (She/Her): constantly working, lithium attempts to hide her reactive and explosive side. This isn’t helped by the fact it’s fairly easy to startle and provoke her…
Beryllium (He/Him): Carefree and sweet, Beryllium consistently ditches whatever he’s doing to go slack off with Helium. This has caused him to be absent from many a compound… not that he cares about it.
Boron (She/Her): Gentle and calm, Boron holds immense strength and force within her. Owing to her incredible 9.3 Mohs rating, she’s tough as a rock and can hold her own in a scrap.
Carbon (Coal: She/Her, Diamond: He/Him): necessary for life itself, these two are constantly at odds with each other. While flawless and “perfect” Diamond’s rigid and inflexible nature makes it easy for cracks to show (both physically and mentally) while coals combustible and stubborn nature is… VERY apparent.
Nitrogen (She/Her): Formed from an incredibly strong triple bond, Nitrogen is actually two elementals who have stuck together almost as long as she’s been formed! While frigid and cold physically, Nitrogen is a sweetheart and cares a lot for life and the people around her.
Oxygen (She/Her): Oxygen is a FLIRT. Breathtaking, bold and very much has her head in the clouds, this shallow Elemental bonds with most elements she meets. This reputation has made her increasingly disliked among some of the metals, though she herself doesn’t seem to care…
Fluorine (She/Her): Sporadic, animalistic and violent, Fluorine’s imperfect 7 electron shell makes her prone to jumping at any chance to complete herself. This has made her a wildcard, incredibly hard to understand, and a walking natural disaster. While just… the worst, much of her behavior comes from her nature which… I guess makes it better?
