Everyone just keep in mind, this man did this. There was no green screen, there was no padding. and he didn’t even flinch when the wall from the first gif hit his arm as it came down.
Buster Keaton appreciation post.
Buster Keaton is that dude
The Phoenicians started settling the [Iberian] peninsula only around 800 BC. At the time, it was a sparsely populated land of dense forests and open plains teeming with wild boars, deer, wolves, and bears. Among the many novelties the Phoenicians discovered, one small mammal caught their attention. It was similar to a furry, tailless Middle Eastern creature with round ears that they called a hyrax, except this version had long ears and long legs, and multiplied at an astonishing pace. The Phoenicians were evidently much impressed by these prolific little mammals. They named their new territory after them: I-shepan-ha, literally “land of the hyraxes.” Centuries later, the Romans Latinized this name to Hispania. And centuries after that, the name morphed into España. In other words, Spain’s names originally meant something like “land of the rabbits.”
Nadeau & Barlow, The Story of Spanish, p. 7 (via polyglotinprogress)
Long story short: if you want to play a flirty character on Inquisition, be particularly careful with Blackwall because the game is rather quick to read your intentions as super serious, which means you can’t even flirt with anyone else. Not because he would disapprove, you literally can’t. It won’t even appear as a dialogue option.
Not sure if it’s a bug in the script or just the way it is with him. But, you know. Just so you know.
yeah no kidding I cant even pick him anymore, theres an X on his card when I want to head out, I just gave me a mean greatsword and new armor and the asshole just ran off.
Woah there game, easy now. I just wanna put on some cute outfits.
Something tells me this came about due to what happened with Pandemonium Warden.
TL;DR: Over 36 players (more than two full alliances) spent 18 hours non-stop trying to defeat this single boss, only to fail when people started vomiting and passing out.
However, since that time, that boss has not only been nerfed, but the level cap has been raised, and players can now reach level 99—the same level as Pandemonium Warden. While I doubt it can be soloed (though it’s been claimed that a good, well-geared paladin could solo it), it’s highly unlikely that it would take a single party more than a half hour to beat.
Edit: I was right. They added this screen because of Pandemonium Warden.
FFXI is (was) a lot more hardcore than a lot of people gave it credit for.
That screen was there long before pandy warden ever was a thing.
I legit have a lot of memories of kiting Kirin for like two actual real hours with my husband as the Kirin tank and me as his healer, while the raid took their sweet ass time killing the damn gods and other adds.
Only to get wiped by it rolling over to Light’s Day and watching Kirin troll the raid by summoning fucking Carbuncle and wiping everyone.
Good times, good times.
Yep. That screen was there waaay before Pandemonium Warden. I look back and wonder how I had the time and fortitude to play FFXI like I did back then. Lmao
Echoing opheliona here, I’ve seen that screen since I started ffxi in october 2005. (Also, I wouldn’t really cite a wiki as a source)
Nobody took that screen seriously though, it gave me a few laughs!
Ffxi was fun because the difficulty made things way more rewarding in the end (to me lol). The challenge was addicting and a lot of times you needed actual skill discerning situations, being able to react within a second (stuns, anyone?), as well as social ability because it was a m u l t i p l a y e r game. Leading an alliance of 18 players with extra backup players outside the alli to switch in upon someone’s death? That was some of the most fun crazy shit I’ve ever done!
waiting 6 hours to get a party as a DRK in Jeuno wasn´t fun at all!
