     she knew what she was asking for the moment she even spoke to the young echidna, but she couldn’t just leave him to take care of a wound of that size. the way that knuckles turned from her, she couldn’t help but see some of sonic in him, her little hedgehog use to think that he could take care of his own injuries as well, but they could always use a motherly touch every now and again.

          “you don’t have to take this weight on your own, you know?” she spoke, keeping her wings at a distance for now, not wanting to cause anymore grief for the warrior. longclaw knew the guilt that he was carrying all too well, she too regretted what happened that day, and knew that it would take more than just patching up an injury to make it remotely better.

          “let me help.”

Longclaw, when you killed the echidnas , how many of them begged for their lives?

     the screaming, she could still hear it to this day when she tried to sleep at night. how many hours did she get these days? two? maybe three if she was lucky? that day didn’t have to happen, they could have left her and sonic alone, she did what she had to to survive as did the echidna’s, though, she knew that battle had more casualties than she cared to admit.

           “what kind of sadistic being are you that you want to know the answer to something like that?” her words were soft, but they had a heavy feeling to them.

Longclaw it's all your fault that Sonic had to scrounge up a living in the wilderness like a goddamn animal on earth all by himself. You threw him to the wolves. He had to survive by himself and live in fear for a decade. He constantly had to flee predators that tried to eat him or worse. He spent 10 years in total isolation on a planet that would hate and fear him if they were aware of his existence!

          “i know..i don’t deserve any forgiveness from sonic..and i’m not going to make any excuses for myself.” she wanted nothing more than to be there for him while he grew up, if the poison didn’t effect her as much as it had, she would have found a way to protect sonic, to bring him back to her. but she also knew that if she had things for the little guy wouldn’t be the same.

          “he has a family now, and i fear if i had brought him back--he would have just been running for his entire life from those who would take his power.” she couldn’t imagine the life he had led before he found that sheriff and his wife. “what’s done has been done and i can’t take it back. i can only hope that one day i can make it right with sonic.”

      her feathers ruffled just from the way the stranger even spoke to her, she knew how those who wouldn’t understand would perceive her. nothing but a monster, she saw herself that way at times, killing those echidna’s wasn’t something she wanted to do, but to keep sonic safe as well as the emerald---she felt as though at the time she had no choice.

      they didn’t want to listen to her.

            “you think i wanted to harm them? i had a son to protect at the time, i would have done anything to make sure that he survived. i wanted nothing more than to be able to come to a peaceful agreement, but with an arrow through my body, it was hard to do that. i still hate myself for what i did, is that what you want to hear from me?” her voice had more depth to it than a moment ago. “i heard that there was a father amongst that group, had i known that when i did i would have let them kill me so that his son wouldn’t have to grow up with the anger that he had.”

“Oh! Hello, there!” Tails holds out one of his chili dogs. “It’s a popular human food, made from a hot dog - which is … a pork thing? Plus chili, which is beef and beans and tomatoes. And cheese! You can have this one, if you want!” 

     that sounded intriguing, so, longclaw let a wing reach out and grabbed one of the chili dogs that tails had offered and sniffed it before biting a chunk of it off.

     the flavor was amazing! something that she’s never had the pleasure of experiencing before, and she loved it!

          “my my, this is very delicious, and you say that human’s made this?”

How do you feel about Sonic befriending a stinky echidna, since echidnas were longtime enemies of yer people?

      the thought of sonic befriending an echidna, it never crossed her mind before she heard about it, but knowing that she trusted sonic to make his own decisions, she didn’t worry about his safety.

       there was still a hurt that she had put on that young echidna, something that she never thought he would ever be able to forgive her for.

             “i was the one who killed the echidna’s whole tribe that day after getting sonic out of that situation. so, if anything, i’m the one who he should hate, not the other way around.” if there was a way to reverse time and talk things out with the echinda tribe, she would. “from what i’ve seen, sonic has the power to change hearts, and i feel proud of him to make a friend out of an old enemy.”
