Dex (Bullseye) "OCD" problem

I’ve read/seen fics where they say he has OCD, but he doesn’t. "Why is his apartment creepily clean then" that’s an OCD stereotype, and no where does it explicitly say that he has OCD.

His apartment is clean because that is what Dr Mercer told him to do, to keep his space clean. A clean space/room is a reflection of your mind, but for Dex, it’s a physical representation of his mask, we see that when he punches a hole in his wall, the mask begins to crack.

He doesn’t have OCD, the mask of being put together is his coping mechanism, the tapes are a part of that as well.

PLEASE stop using this stereotypic version of OCD, it only sets the community back. OCD is intrusive thoughts, not the Tiktok version, but thoughts that completely go against your moral code, thoughts that are just that, intrusive, that you genuinely don’t want. OCD is repetitive actions, like washing your hands three times in fear of contamination or that something catastrophic will happen to you or someone you love. OCD is worrying you’re not who you’ve known you are, like you’ve been living a lie even though you know that you aren’t.

Think about this before you write OCD into your fics in general, or before you go and mischaracterize Dex, it’s not a headcanon if you’ve written it poorly.
