For the conformity gaters, I did a rewatch of Donnie Darko and didn't realize it was the Directors Cut I was watching and not the original, and felt like I was having a completely different experience, because I was.

The theatrical release is a lot more open ended and open to theories, the theme being more of a psychological thriller, however, the Directors Cut adds an extra 20 mins of footage explaining more of the time travel aspect and it becomes more of a sci-fi film, and the interesting thing is it was released three years after the original theatrical release.

It would be pretty insane to do that after the buzz has died down on stranger things, three years is a long time to wait but... who knows, it was on the reference board...
