Nearly two years later and more twists and turns than I prefer to count D is on track to become officially DC in the near future.

What they don’t talk about - as a foster parent to a child, especially a young child, the child bonds to you. No matter how hard you try to protect your heart, this little person bonds itself to you like you are the only thing it has in this world…because you are.

Nicus

It is crazy to think that over ten years ago a Women’s Hospital that focused its care on those who needed them had a nicu with private rooms, tv, couch, chair and even a door. But in my own city, in 2024, it’s still curtain holes in the wall.

Also can we discuss how long I can sit here in a room and no one knows I’m here. Or they know I’m here and I sit with no one checking in. And how this baby is wearing the same outfit 16 hrs later…

Great grandpa passed last week and two days later a baby girl was born. Currently in nicu. Hopefully will come home soon.

Kids have been missing baby P. Got a call tonight for two babies. Will see if either actually end up coming.

Got baby back from a weekend with family. Family who didn’t know their own culture’s holiday… Baby came back a hot mess and a half. Off to urgent care we go…

Rocking the sweet sleeping baby never gets old. Hard to think this maybe the last one.

Drove an hour one way to find WIC approved formula today. Did get the kids ice cream and fries while we were there though.

A day in the life of a foster family- when the foster care worker runs over your cat in the driveway!

She didn’t say anything, just left it there

And she’s getting paid to look after the well being of kids?!

Foster care in a nut shell - today alone,

DHS worker postponed/cancelled on me.

bio dad broke his hip falling on the ice, so tomorrow visit probably won’t happen

DHS wavier worker postponed due to being ill.
