Jamie Adams’ “Blondie Bubba” at Jonathan LeVine Projects.

Currently on view at Jonathan LeVine Projects in Jersey City, New Jersey is artist Jamie Adams’ sensational solo exhibition “Blondie Bubba.”

Jamie’s paintings for “Blondie Bubba” are the reconstructions of his father’s youth, divined from mythical family tales and his father’s own embers of memory as well as the artist’s dreams.  Adams says of his work, “for me painting’s expressive potency is bound up in its bi-locations—the complication of illusion and material presence, and how it at least doubles as actual material presence, but also as the trace residue of a prior one (the artist). It’s not unlike the function of the death mask or how some seek to preserve belief through the physical remains of reliquaries such as the Bursa or Buddhist stupa.”

“Blondie Bubba” will be on view until June 9th, 2018.  If you’re in the area, absolutely stop by!
