I have not painted in years, not really since I used to paint the covers to the Faith and the Muse albums. I had a very amazingly sweet fan ask for a commission. This is a large cloth tapestry, it reminds me of old-timey side show banner. I am shipping her out tomorrow. I've been working on her for 6 months, I'm going to miss her!

wanna know the best thing about these trilobite beetles?

these are all ladies. 

males look like every other beetle out there, but are the same species. it was a huge mystery for the longest time what the hell a male even looked like, or if there even were males, until they issued a money reward and someone brought in a mating pair. and they couldn’t believe that they were even of the same species because of how different they look.

we have an irl species of giant monstrous ladies and tiny dainty plain males

Portuguese street artist Bordalo II (previously featured here) just made Surreal Sunday extra awesome with this fantastic new piece in Vila Nova de Gaia entitled Half Rabbit. 

As with his previous pieces, Bordalo II used litter and other found materials gathered from around the city to assemble his gigantic rabbit. However this time he only painted half of the piece, so the unpainted half reveals each of its component pieces and their original colors.

SO SAD that Steve’s arcaneimages.tumblr account has been terminated forever by Tumblr. People post and repost images, that's what's done, but somehow DMCA notices can be filed over someone’s priviledged scan of a movie poster or screenshot. No money is made on this site except for Tumblr, it's about sharing images. Stills from movies, comic pages, artwork, posters, oddities and the like - anyone who followed Steve's Tumblr loved it so much, it was unique, eclectic and full of amazing images. He promoted other creators' works, posted stills from obscure movies, unusual scenes from favorite horror films, and fantastic artwork, now all gone. :(
