When I first got into the Monkees, Peter was the first one to catch my eye. He looked like the kid from Cory in the House so I guess that’s why. Even though he was portrayed as somewhat of a dummy on the show, he was actually remarkably brilliant. He was one of the more experienced musicians of the group and while it sometimes seemed like he didn’t take things seriously, he was always serious and dedicated to what he was doing. I had the privilege of seeing him 3 times in concert, and he was always filled with so much joy every time I laid my eyes on him. I honestly cannot believe that he is gone. His gentle, loving demeanor will never be forgotten, and neither will his irreplaceable talent and peaceful spirit. Say hello to Davy up there. We’ll miss you so much.
Rest in paradise, sweet Peter ♡
