Hearing someone call his name, his eyes scanned the area till they landed on his former friend, Chris. At first Dan could only stare. Then the awkward silence became too much, he stood up and started yelling, “Well if it isn’t Mr. I’m going to abandon my best friend and leave him to die on to the side of the road, cold and alone.. Tell me.. Have you divorced that bitch wife of yours yet? I know how much you like leaving people behind.” Dan stopped his rant to scratch at the dried crusted blood that was itching his arm. Another reason why he needing to find someplace to wash.

Chris took a step back from the man. “Dan...I don’t think that’s really any of your...No, she’s just away for a few weeks.” He said looking at the other, the guy really did look worse then when they had been friends. He thought maybe the guy would find a job, or atleast improve his life. “You really shouldn’t be using duct tape on your skin like that.”

It had been sometime since Dan* had seen Chris, and what he had said the last time he spoke with him still rang true. Dan* had absolutely no issues with Chris or Elise. Well, maybe with Elise, for tracing his transmitter but…

"Hey yourself!” Dan* greeted the taller man, and lifted the pie he had baked earlier today. “Sure is. I figured I’d stop by, say hello… and apologize for causing you and your wife trouble.” He tacked on a bit of a sheepish grin as he recalled Chris and Elise landing in one of his traps during their last confrontation.

“Oh it’s nor more trouble then Dan gives us. Come in, come in. I’m sure Elise would love to see you when she gets back.” Chris said smiling taking the pie leading the other into his home. “Though probably in the afternoon Dan will come bursting in.” Chris said sighing moving towards his kitchen to find a fork.

Dan was worn and ragged from a day of digging through dumpsters and ripping copper pipes out of the building walls. It was rough work and he sported a few more cuts and bruises while he collected. Out of energy, Dan chose a bus stop bench rest while he bandage up an open wound with a roll of duck tape. He needed to find a place to wash up before it got infected.

Chris sighed rubbing the back of his neck approaching the bus stop. He needed to get to a lunch or something. He gripped his brief case tightly, he was thankful Elise was out for the night. He paused in his walk to the parking garage. “Dan?” He said looking at the man sitting in the bus stop. Was that duct tape around his hand.
