Mikey and Nicky dir. Elaine May // The Ultracheese- Arctic Monkeys
"Opening Night:Ā Myrtle must confront her inner demons, her fear of aging, and her inability to distinguish between her own life and her stage persona to pull off the show." link
Myrtle fails to show up on time for her call on opening night. When she finally arrives, Myrtle is so drunk that she can barely stand. With the audience growing restless, director Manny Victor demands the show go on. Myrtle struggles through the show's opening scenes, collapsing before her entrance and again on stage. As the show continues, Myrtle finds something of a rhythm. By the end, she and Maurice go off script and improvise the play's final act, to the producers' chagrin and the audience's rapturous applause.

guyeppel: @ arcticmonkeys @ glastofest 2005. BACK IN THE DAY: This was one of my favorite sets Iāve seen the band play. Between the new found euphoria that was growing for them and the way they nonchalantly went about playing their music yet with vigor. It felt like whatever will be will be to them, but we arenāt bothered. It felt like hereās a band that are gonna do it on their own terms. Mostly. You gotta play the game to a certain extent. Each song of the set the crowd grew until it was beyond capacity and the tent was overflowing. Felt exciting to be witnessing the start of Monkey Mania & I was lucky enough to see them play all sorts of different stages as their career took off. I miss the popped collar days, aināt gonna lie. Things evolve and change though. Who as a fan has been there since day numĆ©ro uno? If so can you share your favorite Arctic Monkeys moments or albums with us?
My cocteau twins singles collection box that still smells faintly of clove cigarettes because I bought it off an old woman named Molly who was a heavy indoor smoker
rkellyphoto: @/arcticmonkeys at @/emiratesot 2007 This unpublished shot of Alex was taken during the sound check on the first day of their 2 nights at Old Trafford Cricket Ground and I wanted to get the sticker of Cliff Richard and his quote with Alex and his guitar. I wonder if the sticker is still on a monitor when they tour now?
āI knew then with absolute certainty that I wanted to sing; and be part of this new world of rockānārollā
when fiona apple asked āhow can i ask anyone to love me when all i do is beg to be left aloneā. well i have not found an answer but if anyone else has lmk

āHELP(2)ā was recorded through āa close collaboration with Abbey Road Studiosā mostly during one week in November 2025.
āWhen James Ford called and asked if weād contribute to the āHELP(2)ā album we set to work on a song idea and assembled in Abbey Road to record it,ā said Arctic Monkeys in a press release. āWe are proud to support the invaluable work War Child do and hope the record will make a positive difference to the lives of children affected by war.ā
Arctic Monkeys share new song āOpening Nightā from indie all-star āHelp(2)ā War Child album, NME, 22nd Jan 2026
I was really hoping Opening Night was going to be an homage to Cassavetes but it feels like a Humbug b-side with an Eagles harmony so I can't be mad
warchildrecords: Thursday. 3pm GMT. New track from @/arcticmonkeys & more info about our upcoming project to support children living through war
Nick Cave not even mentioning the genius of AM's Red Right Hand...
iāve been keeping tabs on the rumors about arctic monkeys being done, so i thought i would compile the ones i've seen here (as much as it hurts to see them all together)
the most recent update. this person also leaked the oasis reunion news before it was announced. no idea if they're otherwise reliable. they say their source is someone in the music industry.
worth noting that AMās manager has confirmed a war child album x
a couple comments on the reddit post:

interesting that this person, in november 2024, also heard from someone who leaked the oasis news. (doesn't mean it's the same person, i'm sure many people in the industry knew about it.) x
nobodytoldme (strangedaysindeed on other sites) has some kind of connection and has provided reliable info for years. his response here was from january 2025 after AM dissolved their touring LLC, which has never been dissolved before. he also added this comment to his video of the end of the car tour:
previously the description said āthis tour,ā and he removed that. x x
unfortunately i didnāt see this in time to listen before bbc removed the interview. x
blakejp (arcticmonkeysus on other sites) also has connections and has provided reliable info for years. this response was after AM changed their recording LLC name from Bang Bang Recordings LTD to Bang Bang Music LTD in august 2025. i was very hopeful about this, but now i'm thinking it might have had to do with the song for the war child album. x
i think maybe this also could be about the song for war child, since it's not a new song, it's supposedly an old, unreleased song. x

none of this is confirmation of anything, but there's enough for me personally to believe there's probably some merit to the rumors. i doubt AM would make any kind of public announcement about being done, but i think they probably treated the last show in dublin as their final show, and at least for now don't have any intention of coming back. i'm holding out hope that even if that's how they currently feel, they could still change their minds. it also sounds possible that they're done touring, but not necessarily done making music. but maybe thatās too optimistic. (and again, this is all speculation.)
