Light Night was a free event for all to enjoy, which encapsulates the true spirit of the festive season: family and the community. Choirs and dance troupes from across Scotland performed on stages on George Street . The Christmas Tree on the Mound, a gift to the City of Edinburgh Council from Hordaland County Council in Norway, was lit as part of the Light Night switch-on.

Week 44: Another film shoot in Edinburgh
The studio 'In A Big Country Films Ltd.' are currently (2018-11-09) filming a movie called 'The Sopranos' on location near Castle Terrace in Edinburgh.
It is based on a book by Alan Warner which is set in 1996 and is about a group of choir girls from The Highlands who travel to Edinburgh for a choir competition.

A visit to the Royal Botanic garden in Edinburgh.
Still early in autumn, but the leaves on some of the trees have started to turn red or yellow.
If the weather stays nice, i.e. if it doesn't turn so windy that all the leaves are torn off the trees, it should be worth another visit in a couple of weeks time
