I'm in the Monkie Central discord server and I want to spread some corrections. Alex either left or was kicked from the server at least a day ago, if not earlier, because when this news broke last night they was already not a member of the server anymore. Someone shared the doc in the server unprompted today and the admins had to announce in the main chat they are already working on an announcement together. Ownership has been completely transfered already.

I’ve been sent this post by an anon, and, as someone with a semi-large following, I felt like the responsible thing to do would be to make a proper post about this.

Document

CWs for the doc: alleged grooming, manipulation, NSFW topics, racism.

Critical Notes:

I am someone who personally goes through the documents I share WRT callouts with a critical eye. I’ve seen far too many online hatemobs leaving people traumatized to share docs like this uncritically.

I will say that this document does do some misleading things in its recounting of events, which I will list NOT in an effort to discredit the victims, but to make sure everybody is able to view this document with clarity, and as accurately as possible.

It states that Alex is 24 at the start, but then neglects to do the math and be open about the fact that a lot of events shown took place in 2017, which makes him 16 at the time. For this reason, I find the claim of pedophilia incredibly misleading. (Literally not what that word means, guys.)

Some testimonies do have aspects of, or heavily rely on, the idea of ‘he was always just really weird’, which does make my eyebrows furrow. For example: “Nice and wholesome responses felt faked and they had several instances where they were completely going on about nothing.” There is also a whole section dedicated to said “ramblings”. Given that the doc, and multiple people in it, openly dismiss the idea that any of this is because Alex is autistic, and state that anyone bringing it up is just using it as an excuse, testimonies like these make me feel... a certain type of way.

The doc does the thing where all remorse shown by the subject is automatically labeled as guilt-tripping. (People can be genuinely remorseful, and that doesn’t mean you have to forgive them.)

The conclusion openly seeks to silence any critiques of the document, and shut down any and all critical thinking. Never listen to someone when they do this.

All that said…

What is alleged is still very concerning. He was 16, yes, but that is still a big age gap with a lot of the victims, including one as young as 11.

I, personally, can also testify to the fact that Alex has a habit of harassing others, as mentioned in the doc. Multiple of my friends have been victims. I have no proof of this on hand, as my friends’ accounts have been deleted, so please feel free to take my word with a grain of salt.

Alex in relation to LEGO Monkie Kid

This is the reason why I shared this here. Alex is a huge figure in the LEGO Monkie Kid community. If you are in the LEGO Monkie Kid fandom, here are some places from where you may know him.

He is the main mod for Monkie Central, or @MonkieKidNews on Twitter, which is the source for LEGO Monkie Kid-related updates. It currently has 24.6k followers.

He was one of the major people with access to episodes soon after they released in Mandarin, and who was able to share them with the community. For this reason, now that he is in the process of leaving the internet, it’s likely that future LEGO Monkie Kid releases will be much slower in getting to us English-speakers.

Do NOT harass anyone for any reason mentioned in this post. Block and move on, and please remember to use your best judgement.
