Bleeding tooth fungus, scientific name hydenellum peckii is a fairly uncommon fungi located in the northern hemisphere, whike widespread its rarely seen in large groups and very sensitive to soil changes.
The mushroom gets it nanes from a discharge it produces, the mushrooms absorbs to much water from the surrounding soil and roots, throigh a procces called guttation ibternal pressyre builds up causing it to 'sweat'. It apears red due to the water mixing with natural pigments in the mushroom
Inside the pigments is atromentin, a natural anti coagulant
It grows in acidic and mossy soil in confirous forests near tree roots
