Commissions for @indooie! Loved working on these.
Christmas collab with the SO of a friend! He came to me about painting their patronuses. He was very dedicated, even though we had to have 2 sessions instead of 1. Acrylic is not for me, so hard to use! I’ll try oil in the new year.
Ink updates. The latter image is a study of a quince tree. They‘re my favourite. The common theme for this post: Both drawings are depictions of fruit. I‘ll see myself out.
Prep drawing on lino, soon to be cut. The final print will read “Images &words”. Original of the hand is by halybs! Here’s the artwork I studied.

I underestimated linocutting. I was not ready lol (Also, the last one has a ton of white area covered in ink for no reason, and it still didn‘t print right.)
Printing is hard. I‘ve made maybe 15 copies already, and they‘re all trash! Except for one that I forgot to photograph. Gifted it, since this is a birthday present. It‘s refreshing to work in an irreversible medium that demands maximum concentration out of you just to cut a curved line, or to cut where you want, how deep you want. It makes you appreciate the freedoms in other media.
Something in ink to add to Redbubble soon. The symbolism in this image revolves around divergence, for instance the dragon holding its head, the flames parting, the upward distinction between frame and image and the meandering of the title and its typography. I imitated the shape design of Art Nouveau posters for the smoke and, weirdly, thought the Gothic style lettering had somethign of a Metal vibe.
Also, I thought finishing a sketch with a severed head in it would be fun for this season. It’s like the Scream meets Halloween
Old charcoal studies. I know I used digital art as reference for the tiger, but I wasn’t keen on keeping it all tidy back then so I got no clue where either are from.
Illustrated letter I began a while back. I wanted to upload an inktober drawing yesterday, but I was hit by pessimism. It‘s pretty boring, don‘t know if I should finish it. This here is kinda old but also way more interesting.
Arthur ref sheet is in progress!
Five miles meandering with a mazy motion
Through wood and dale the sacred river ran,
Then reached the caverns measureless to man,
And sank in tumult to a lifeless ocean.
Occlusion (Kubla Khan 1)
Inktober day two - mindless. This has been in the works for a little longer, but yesterday I realized this could be used for today’s prompt. So I went ahead! After this there’ll be a bit of a pause, because of family stuff.
Listen Monnsi I've said it before (i think) and I'm saying it again i fricking love your art it has so many details and!!!!!! Dragons are your jam!!! I love how you draw hem!!! Anyways yes hope you have a good week!
Oh that’s, aww, thank you so much! And ya know, this week is mah birthday, so I’m definitely having a great time. (Lol, Monnsi)
Day 1 - Ring
What I originally wanted to draw instead of one nimbus was one for each of the two, intertwining in a weird symbol of violent matrimony. But intuition made me divide one “saintly” circle of light between them ... I overdid it, yeah.
Today, I finished an old lineart I had lying around abandoned. But quickly colouring it to show it off better turned out to be tricky! It *came out* rather homosexually. But let’s be honest, that was in there from the start.
For The Lack Of A Word (John)
Inspired by the structure of Kelmscott initials that contain the entire word within the sqare - and also by E.L. Kirchner’s woodcut series titled Zwei Menschen (which adds corresponding elements to each composition to make it square).
I‘m kinda proud of the typographical work on the right here. John has a weird relationship with being human, so the letters form just that. The O is a nimbus (saintly head circle / light). The H, beside being a torso, is a solid form that is hollowed out in the middle, graphically representing an important trait of his personality. And ”ohn” is related to „ohne“ (without).
yet another WIP. I’d like to finish one of these? mhpf. #art #dragon
