For those who didn’t know, Gaten has actually worked on Broadway since 2011–he played Gavroche in the 2014 revival of Les Miserables!
And as if that wasn’t fantastic enough, Caleb McLaughlin also worked on Broadway before doing Stranger Things! He played Young Simba in The Lion King cast from 2012-2014.
Joe Keery and Charlie Heaton also used to both be drummers in rock bands, Finn Wolfhard plays guitar, and Millie Bobby Brown has already shown her singing (and rapping!) skills on everything from Youtube to The Tonight Show!
Bottom line is, we need a Stranger Things musical episode immediately.

my female main character: has mentioned being in love with her female best friend, is disappointed when she seems to be interested in someone else, makes lowkey romantic gestures toward her that are reciprocated; in the love interest’s chapters she talks about having always been in love with her and both of them just being worried about ruining their friendship by saying anthing
well-intentioned reader: so will there be any romance for the main character? can i suggest [male character vaguely set up as a brother-like figure to the main character]?!

they commented on an interaction between the Gal Pals that they hope they stay just friends because they ship the mc and the guy (they are going to be so very disappointed in the next chapter)
so they did notice a little, but somehow the relationship that has been entirely platonic seems like a better ship to them than the girls that are mutually pining over each other

gay people can look at canon that tries so hard to put m/f couples together (usually badly) and still see a chance for f/f
straight people jump through hoops to justify why “these two female characters are just very close friends but their hearts lie with this other male character”
i swear you could put a giant flashing neon sign over two characters with arrows and everything saying “THESE TWO ARE GAY FOR EACH OTHER” and some dumbass straight reader will just put on shades and point to an unrelated male character going “hey i think they’d be nice together”
make shit clearer for everyone’s sake. make them #married af. make the male character one hell of a wingman or something if they’re not established yet. better yet make him gay too.
straight readers are either completely clueless or they know EXACTLY what they’re doing by passively suggesting an m/f ship despite your intentions. fuck that. do what you want. make it so clear they’re gay the only way a straight person can miss that sign is if they close their eyes and ignore your entire story.
