Working on the next embroidered bag- this one is mushrooms
A patch I made for my friend’s cat who passed away. I think I read somewhere that red poppies were memorial flowers but tell me if I’m wrong
The green bag is coming along! Just finished the embroidery. I think it needs a custom designed liner 🤔🤩💡
It’s not done yet, but I’m working on some stuff to embroider on bags.
There’s so many plants, I was like, okay…carnivorous ones it is…
I wanted to try and have a little “mascot” owl guy for my stuff. Still painting him! Otus
Collection of handmade mushroom charms/keychains
hey. it's been a minute.
I’ve been lost in fluorescent-lit offices for a while. Corproate life ate the part of my brain that used to get excited about mushroom gradients and tiny paintbrushes. i wasn't creating, i was just... surviving. clocking in, clocking out, telling myself the art thing could wait.
Well, it’s been…7 years? I can’t even remember.
But I’m back now, relearning how to make things because i want to, not because i need them to perform. still working through the anxiety spiral of "what if nobody buys this" but trying to let the joy come first and the sales part be whatever it's gonna be. monsternium was always about the weird little creatures living in the space between field guide and folklore.
thanks for still being here if you are. Here’s a Satan’s bolete mushroom in the meantime and more handmade mushrooms incoming 🍄

Reblogging this post for the update!
Reblogging again for yet another update! Newly added: Arachnology.

I will be having a pop up shop at the Art Institute of Orange County on December 9th! I will also be making ornaments to go into a group gallery show on the same date, so it would be a perfect time to come by and look for unique holiday gift as well as support your local artists! There will be food trucks and lots of unique art. I hope to see you there :)
New Kitsune enamel pins are now available in my shop!
1.5 inches with two pin posts for stability. Choose between orange, and a red and white color scheme.

In the first photo, going clockwise:
African Civet, Long-Eared Owl, Heliobacter Pylori, Japanese Rhinoceros Beetle, Bacteriophage, Manta Ray, Shaggy Mane Mushroom, Echeveria Succulent, Parson’s Chameleon, and a Dilophosaurus Skull.
It was really cool to see how @acornpress took my drawings and turned them into fun little charms. I wanted to come up with a set of pins that sort of coincided with my biological patches set, so I chose favorites from the ten disciplines and voila- cute, bright, little pins!
