shedding season for borlochka is a nightmare. he's heavily double coated since he's from a cold environment and blowing out his coat is a huge rigamarole twice a year. he eventually drags himself to a salon that has a high velocity dryer and asks them to please help. the furricane that ensues is catastrophic

andy also sheds, since wolves and bats both do. doomwing once complained that andy left clumps of fur in the dorm room shower drain AGAIN. andy said that he could help andy brush his coat out if it bothers him so much

funnily enough, some harpies don't have the same waxy coating on their feathers that most birds do. this is because some harpies are suited for diving and swimming, and have webbed talons to match. aulus however DOES have waterproof feathers. showering is still a bit annoying because they have to wash all their body very separately; hair gets shampoo, skin parts get body wash, face gets face cleanser, feathers get rinsed or occasionally a little dish soap or baby shampoo if there's gunk stuck in 'em...

also molting season for any harpy is an absolute shitshow, and it happens to every harpy at once. tbh, it becomes everyone's problem, because the city gets littered with shed feathers, and every harpy alive is grumpy and miserable because with their pin feathers coming in they look roughly like this

Yeah I'm good, it's just, like.... time-consuming and difficult to be an entire person sometimes. I'm still chugging along on this project as slow and determined as ever, though :p

there's no option for the player character to be explicitly cis, that's for darn sure

here's how player character gender works in the game: your character can choose he/him, they/them, or she/her pronouns. body types, outfits, facial features, etc are NOT limited by pronoun. you can be big naturals gandalf if you want

I've been watching (patiently) for updates about the game and I'm so glad to hear you're still working on it! Please take your time and take care of yourself! I'm excited to date some monsters, but not at the expensive of your well-being. 💖

this message means a lot to me. not to be emotionally open and vulnerable on the internet or anything, but i feel.... guilt, and shame, that this project has taken me so long. i feel scared that when it's finished, it's going to underwhelm people who have been waiting a long time. people who may be expecting more from it because it's been so long.

I will say I've had to prioritize my well being especially much for a long while, but im finally getting to the point where I'm having more good days than bad. it's been therapeutic to get back to monstra city and work on it every day :)

i welcome most character headcanons and will largely refuse to confirm or deny them. EXCEPT doomwing being trans and callaneiro being autistic. those things are both firmly textually canon and i cannot condone headcanons to the contrary
