THE DEATH AND LIFE OF MARSHA P. JOHNSON (2017)
History isnāt something you look back at and say it was inevitable. It happens because people make decisions that are sometimes very impulsive and of the moment, but those moments are cumulative realities. ā Marsha P. Johnson
Queens started being filed out and being put into police cars, and guns had been drawn. Molotov cocktails were flying. And Iām like, āOh my God, the revolution is here. Thank God. Youāve been treating us like shit all these years? Uh uh. Now itās our turn.ā ā Sylvia Rivera
THE FIRST PRIDE WAS A RIOT HAPPY PRIDE | BLACK LIVES MATTER
iamhalsey:Ā Itās become very clear to me that some of you need to see what Iāve seen. Please swipe through this. These pictures and videos donāt even scratch the surface. Itās easy from the comfort of your home to watch looting and rioting on television and condone the violent measures being taken by forces. But what you donāt see is innocent peaceful protestors being shot at and tear gassed and physically assaulted relentlessly. You think itās not happening, itās only the āthugsā and the āriotsā, right? The police are keeping you safe right? Youāre wrong. This is happening everywhere. And innocent people exercising their rights to speech and assembly are facing violence and abuse of power. With all of our medical professionals being CONSUMED and EXHAUSTED with Covid, there is little to no medical attention available. I have first hand treated men women and children who have been shot in the chest, the face, the back. Some will lose vision some have lost fingers. I have been covered in innocent blood. My father is a black man. My mother is an EMT. This week I had to put those two associations together in ways that have horrified me. This is NOT a virtue signaling post. But I HAVE to show you what I am witnessing with my own eyes. With Trumpās decision today to enforce the mobilization of armed forces on our own citizens, this has escalated beyond your privilege and comfort to not care. Please care. We are begging you to care. This is war on Americans. This is everyoneās problem. Everyoneās.Ā #BLACKLIVESMATTER
Knowing how to self reflect without beating yourself up mentally is so crucial
Once you become a certain age, it is your responsibility to unlearn behaviors that hinder your growth as a person.
when florence welch said āthose heavy days in june when love became an act of defianceā
What just happened on CNN? Im at work and so wasnāt somewhere I could watch
Sure Iāll sum up.
So there was a very good peaceful protest byā¦. Lafayette Park? Right outside the White House. They were chanting, they had multiple reporters in the crowd, it was fucking CHILL, people were waiting for Trump to do a speech in the Rose Garden.
Then, out of nowhere, truly NOWHERE, the cops closed in from three directions and threw gas into the crowd. They used rubber bullets on the crowd IMMEDIATELY. One dude told the reporter āThey donāt care about new, move.ā They drove out the totally fucking peaceful, pre-curfew protestors.
They moved them all out, and Trump started speaking, and you could hear the fucking gas going off over his speech. CNN fucking did a splitscreen to show the peopple being shoved back as the motherfucker stood up there and said he would protect our rights and would mobilize the military against people.
Then back to the reporters, and everyone was forced further and further away. One woman on a bike told the reporter āThey are getting the water cannons ready, you wanna move.ā
TURNS OUT.
ALL OF THIS.
WAS BECAUSE TRUMP WANTED A PHOTO OP AT THE CHURCH ACROSS THE STREET. HE WANTED THEM OUT OF THE WAY SO HE COULD STAND WITH A BIBLE IN FRONT OF A CHURCH.
Even CNN is calling him a dictator, at 7PM.
Then the Illinois governor came out and called him a racist, xenophobic, misogynistic failure.
Oh my fucking god
And she aināt playn āš¾
Here are a couple more photos of her...
Her name is Brianna Noble and her horseās name is Dapper Dan.

i really hope that no protesters/rioters know that grabbing the bottom of a police officers riot shield and flipping it up will push the officer on his back, rendering him immobile due to the weight of his riot gear :(( that would be an awful thing to know and terrible information to spread :((((
on another note, i really hope protesters/rioters donāt find out that you can buy plywood from home depot from 9-30$ and make your signs out of that, and use it to deflect and shield yourself from rubber bullets :((( noooo donāt do that :(((

yāall, i feel like i need to remind yāall that thereās a huge difference between ignoring whatās going on, and taking a mental break because youāre exhausted with trying to keep up with the situation in the country right now. this shit is no joke and is weighing incredibly heavy on people such as myself and if you need to take a break from this and just log out, please do. please take care of yourself and donāt feel bad that youāre not keeping up with things at every second of the day.
god i keep reading the notes on this post about being privileged to take a break and i feel the need to explain a few things. one, a black man wrote this post. two, i clearly emphasized the point of ignoring whatās going on. I understand that non black people have the privilege of being able to ālog outā and not be effected by this. black people like myself donāt have that privilege of just being able to log out. what iām trying to say with this post is that you shouldnāt be feeling like shit all day and having anxiety attacks and generally feeling incredibly overwhelmed all the time. taking care of your mental health is not up for fucking debate and I donāt care what the color of your skin is, this applies to everyone. take care of yourself mentally and physically. i canāt believe I have to argue that people have the right to care for themselves amidst all the shit going on in the world today.
