the whole shebang of it all is that bdubs is just a common inspector, sent over to investigate an unusual incident in an abandoned building by his negligent boss ( whoever it is!! ) he then digs a bjt too far into the building, and finds a roaming grian, spreading his weird spores and hyphae around or whatever and rooted to the floor. he is deduced as Probably Really Really Bad by bdubs, and is brought over to the precinct for interrogation !,

in the middle of said interrogation, grian persuades him with words to let him go ( obliviously flirting (( he really just thought he was flattered by the “ humans are weird and disgusting “ leader of the mycelium resistance saying he looked perfect )) ) and since then, they have unusual encounters as they slowly try to pull each other into their sides. longs to shorts grian feels betrayed when bdubs forcefully puts him and his resistance to recovery but he gets over it and the spores and they get together Oh Joy 🥹 i truly enjoy them
