Holy moly, you reminded me of the scene with Shuu the punchbag boy... What would it look like? Shuu laying on the ground, listening to sweet classics, doesn't give a shit at all while being booted xD?

I don’t think the route specifies what Shuu did to piss off… whoever they were; but, it likely had to do with the fact that he was listening to music and ignoring them. I didn’t really find it funny because I don’t think it’s easy to just sit there and endure being kicked, and who knows what else, to the point of being covered in bruises and cuts.

I’m sure people would brush it off as “oh he’s just that lazy”, but I disagree. Yui comments about why he didn’t defend himself. Shuu’s response is along the lines of “what? Did you want me to kill them?” This, along with Shuu’s past with Edgar, suggests he has a soft spot for humans. He knows how weak and incapable they are compared to himself. Though, “not giving a shit” is pretty accurate. He has a tendency to just let bad things happen to himself.

I remember that part in Maniac 2. I think part of that also has to do with how he sees himself as being guilty for Edgar’s death. I don’t remember if this was explicitly mentioned, but I believe that part of the reason he didn’t defend himself, that Yui didn’t know at the time, was because he probably felt like he ‘deserved’ it. Which really gives you a window into how damaged he is if he justified the assault to her or himself (I don’t believe he actually did however).

We like to joke around with Shu being a petty, mean adult-child, but he is just as complex as any of the other characters. He can have his moe moments, and he can also have those terrifying moments (remember the time when he told you that if you wanted to follow him, you had to give him one of both of your eyeballs? Ahh…（*´▽｀*）and the part where he wanted you to cut yourself? Lol).

Loving any of the characters is about taking the good with the bad and vice versa. That doesn’t mean you can’t gush about the parts of them that remind you of their vulnerability - hope, insecurity, fear, jealousy, etc. If the vampires behaved sadistically all the time, this wouldn’t be a popular franchise in Japan nor would they be very multidimensional characters that you can attach to. ¯\_(ツ)_/¯

At today's「DIABOLIK LOVERS MORE,BLOOD」SADISTIC NIGHT 2017 event at the Maihama Amphitheatre, lots of news about upcoming new works were announced!

A new situation CD series titled,「DIABOLIK LOVERS Para-Selene」will be released consecutively over 13 months, starting 26 April 2017! All the CDs will utilise the dummy-head mic as per usual, and priced at ¥2,200 each. The situation CDs will be released in this order → Ayato, Kino, Kou, Shin, Laito, Subaru, Reiji, Azusa, Kanato, Yuma, Carla, Ruki, Shu.

A new drama CD series titled,「DIABOLIK LOVERS CHAOS LINEAGE」will also be released from 26th July 2017 onwards! It’ll see all the characters shuffled, and will be released over 3 CDs over 3 months! Each CD is priced at ¥2,200. The CD details are →

The new visual (above) that has been revealed, also features the characters in their new CHAOS LINEAGE outfits.

A 3rd best album, that consists a collection of songs from the series, titled,「DIABOLIK LOVERS Bloody Songs -SUPER BESTⅢ-」is also confirmed to be released on 26th April 2017! There’ll also be 3 new songs by the Sakamaki brothers, and come in a newly illustrated jacket, along with special bonuses. It is priced at ¥3,000, and contain 2 CDs per set.

Last but not least, a new DIABOLIK LOVERS stage show is also in the works! Following last year's「DIABOLIK LOVERS～re:requiem～」, the new show currently has not revealed any details yet, but it is highly anticipated.
