That’s still stealing hun, artists do not want their art reposted without credit. If you can’t find the artist then absolutely do not post it. It’s okay that you weren’t aware that this is still a form of stealing, but now that you know I hope you’ll understand why you shouldn’t do it. Artists work very hard to circulate their work and for someone to repost it without crediting them is taking the exposure they so much deserve and directing it towards yourself.
And then for you to tag it as Life is Strange or whatever fandom art it is, then everyone who looks in that tag will see it and think it’s yours and it will get reblogged and spread around without anyone knowing who’s it actually is and you are then getting credit for an artists hours of work, while they are somewhere out there working their ass off for the notes that are going to you. I’m not attacking you in any way, but this is very much a huge rule of tumbr and fandoms in general. You do not repost art without credit. And even then, it’s best to ask the artist’s permission before you post their art. I do understand where you’re coming from, but a lot of people do this sort of thing intentionally and maliciously, and it is probably the biggest problem for artists on tumblr. I just want to let you know what you’re doing so you can avoid the negative attention this will get you if you continue reposting art.
