The Moon squad is a squad led by Former Arc, Captain Glimmer under the Coruscant Guard. They rarely get off Coruscant, but they are still in shape and haven’t let their training go to waste.

The door to the medbay hissed open and the newest member of Moon squad walked into looking uncertain. He’s clutching a bleeding hand tight.

“Paws, you here?” Birch asked

Paws frowned as he wrapped a wound on a shiny from a gang member. "Your stable now, but don't move." He said adjusting the pain meds, before hurrying to the open room.

"ye-oh kriff." He hurried over and grabbed a roll of gauze from a tray. "What happened?"

“I dunno. I just looked down and it was there,” he said, “Can you patch it up quick, I gotta get back to my shift otherwise Fox’ll be mad again,”

Paws frowned and examined the cut. "Well not if I don't know what happened. Did you cut yourself?" He asked glancing at Birch.

"And Fox can be mad at me if he wants." He said with a small smirk.

“I really don’t know,” mused Birch, he could trust Paws he could always trust vod, “I wasn’t fronting much yesterday, it was there when I woke up. I don’t know who was fronting when we got it though,”

The medic frowned. "You woke up with this kind of wound?" He confirmed, carefully inspecting and cleaning the cut.

"were you with your squad?"

“Paws I don’t know!” said Birch, “I wasn’t out yesterday, Lucina was last I checked, but I honest to the gods have no idea how I got this wound,”

Birch was frustrated. This was frustrating. Lucina was frustrating. She was the whole reason Fox was mad at him in the first place.

Paws frowned. "Okay, I'm sorry." He said before cleaning and stitching the wound carefully.

"there. I'd be careful not to reopen the wound." He explained, gently wrapping the gauze around his hand."

“I’ll be careful, thanks vod,” he said softly before standing up and walking out of the medbay in silence.

He leads Birch into his office and offers him to sit down on the comfortable armchair before going to get Birch a cup of water.

Birch was trying so hard not to cry again so he took a deep breathe and let it out. He was okay. He was safe.

“First Lucina abandon the post then Bark runs out on Fox,” said Birch, “Gods this can’t get any worse,”

"I advise you to apologize to him and ask him to allow you to explain yourself, this is a medical issue, not laziness. He will probably tell you to get it under control. maybe send you to a medic, but that's it."

Birch glared at Thorn, rage shimmering

“I can’t fucking control this Thorn. I can’t do that. You try telling someone to just sit in the sidelines and not do a thing in life! I can’t just tell my alters to “get under control” I can’t do that. They’re their own people and I have no control over them,” hissed Birch, “If I could this would be so much easier,”

Birch froze and curled in on himself

“I’m sorry sir, I didn’t mean to yell,” he said, tips of his ears growing red.

Thorn is not surprised about the outbreak. Neither is he mad or offended or anything else that Birch might be thinking right now. He just smiles fondly and runs his hand over Birch's hair.

"I would like to say 'I know', but you know that I don't so just pretend that I said something more comforting than that, alright?", he doesn't want Birch to feel bad for speaking his mind, "And don't feel sorry, I understand that this is a stressful situation and I've had worse things thrown at my head than that I'm wrong about something."

“I think I’ll be fine talking to Commander Fox alone, I’ll comm you if I feel like I need any help,” said Birch, “Thank you, sir. I should probably go explain myself to Fox then”

"Do that, yes", He encourages, "Don't hesitate to call me in should he be cornering you or, I don't know, when you feel like someone else is going to take over, we don't want anyone to make it worse, do we?"

He gives Birch's hair a gentle ruffle before fixing it into a presentable shape. He's not going to send him away, though, if Birch wants to stay and get more cuddles he will gladly oblige. He knows how little gentle bodily contact some troopers get.

Birch headed out the door and towards Fox’s office.

A younger trooper wearing the armor of clone trooper Birch wandered the halls aimlessly. He looked almost lost and didn't seem to hear Thorn behind him. The kid twisted his hands and looked around nervously.

"Birch? Hey, Birch!", Thorn jogs up to him to greet the barely familiar trooper with the moon shapes on his armor.

"Hey lad, what are you doing over here, I haven't seen you in a while."

Birch? turns. He looks confused and disoriented

"Do-Do I know you? Do we know you?" He asked quietly

He was confused. Why was he here? It didn't make since. Gale usually stopped him so why was he here? Who was this strange vod before him. He didn't know. He hated not knowing. Not knowing was scary. Not knowing got him hurt time and time again.

"I'm.... Thorn? Commander Thorn of the Coruscant Guard? I'm your superior, how do you not know me? We talked a few days ago, you brought me reports, remember?", Thorn was very confused how his red dyed hair could be forgotten so easily? The rest, maybe, after all he got a vod's face, but he really tried to get some personality into his appearance as possible.... that just doesn't make sense to him, not if it is a brother he's talking to.

"Birch, are you alright?", he lays a hand on Birch's shoulder to ease his nerves.

"I'm Bark, sir," said Bark, "Something happened, Birch isn't out. I'm sorry. No one else is. No one wanted to deal with it. The vod with grey streaks was angry. Shouting and stuff. I was really scared. Why was he mad at us? What did we do?"

Bark's voice was almost child-like, nothing like Birch had sounded a few days back. Bark rang his fingers and shuffled his feet, acting like a skittish cadet.

Oh.... now that was something different. "You encountered Fox? About what? Why were you with him in the first place?"

He gently wrapped an arm around Birch-Bark's shoulders and guided him down the hallways towards his office. The trooper he spoke to must've been a rather young one, stressing him out about anything would not get him anywhere. So he made sure to sound forgiving and motherly when he spoke.

"Is that who that? He scared Birch so badly he stopped fronting. Then Lucina fronted and got scared too and she retreated, then Bolt tried, but it was too much. There was so much rapid fronting and then suddenly I'm fronting and I'm being yelled at and it was too much so I ran away. He was so loud and scary and I couldn't take it so I ran. I ran away. I don't even know why we were being yelled at in the first place," whispered Bark, looking anywhere but Thorn, "Did we do something? It can't have been, this is my first time fronting it a while. I have no idea what's going on. Where are we, what is this place?"

"You're on coruscant, dear, I'm Thorn. And you are safe from the scary man with the grey streaks, no worries. Do you know where you guys are supposed to be right now? I can take you there and make sure someone knows you are lost."

He heard of that before.... the... multiple people in one person. He's never met a.... system? like that before. And frankly he was a bit worried, the person he talked to seemed like a child. Or at least very young. And if not that, then the insecurity was doing its parts on that.

“I don’t know where we’re supposed to be…” he trailed off staring blankly in front of him, swaying slightly. It lasted a minute before he blinked and glanced around.

“Ah shit,” said Birch, “Um, hullo Commander Thorn. Um what the kriff happened? Oh no, did-did Bark walk out of Commander Fox’s office? Shit shit shit Fox is going to kill me!”

Birch’s breathing quickened and he looked very worried.

“Fox is going to be so mad at me,”

"Bark?", Thorn asked carefully when his brother didn't answer anymore, "Are you okay?"

When he started talking about himself in third person Thorn was confused for a moment before he remembered that Birch must be in there just as well.

"I-I don't know, he said he got scared because Fox was yelling at him for no reason. What happened? Fox doesn't yell at people just like that?" He tries to act as normal about the change of personality as he can even though he wishes to ask if it is Birch again who he is talking to. Probably, though, because Birch is the only one of the mentioned people he ever met before.

“I-Lucina fronted. We walked by an art store and saw the supplies and the next thing I know, it’s seven hours later, we left out post. I get a comm from Fox and he’s mad. I left my post, Thorn because Lucina got distracted. Usually Glimmer smoothes this over, but I guess Fox heard first,” whispered Birch, “I’m so sorry Thorn. I’m sorry. I tried super hard to prevent Lucina from fronting but I failed. I’m sorry,”

"I'm Bark, sir," said Bark, "Something happened, Birch isn't out. I'm sorry. No one else is. No one wanted to deal with it. The vod with grey streaks was angry. Shouting and stuff. I was really scared. Why was he mad at us? What did we do?"

Bark's voice was almost child-like, nothing like Birch had sounded a few days back. Bark rang his fingers and shuffled his feet, acting like a skittish cadet.

Oh.... now that was something different. "You encountered Fox? About what? Why were you with him in the first place?"

He gently wrapped an arm around Birch-Bark's shoulders and guided him down the hallways towards his office. The trooper he spoke to must've been a rather young one, stressing him out about anything would not get him anywhere. So he made sure to sound forgiving and motherly when he spoke.

"Is that who that? He scared Birch so badly he stopped fronting. Then Lucina fronted and got scared too and she retreated, then Bolt tried, but it was too much. There was so much rapid fronting and then suddenly I'm fronting and I'm being yelled at and it was too much so I ran away. He was so loud and scary and I couldn't take it so I ran. I ran away. I don't even know why we were being yelled at in the first place," whispered Bark, looking anywhere but Thorn, "Did we do something? It can't have been, this is my first time fronting it a while. I have no idea what's going on. Where are we, what is this place?"

A younger trooper wearing the armor of clone trooper Birch wandered the halls aimlessly. He looked almost lost and didn't seem to hear Thorn behind him. The kid twisted his hands and looked around nervously.

"Birch? Hey, Birch!", Thorn jogs up to him to greet the barely familiar trooper with the moon shapes on his armor.

"Hey lad, what are you doing over here, I haven't seen you in a while."

"Do-Do I know you? Do we know you?" He asked quietly

He was confused. Why was he here? It didn't make since. Gale usually stopped him so why was he here? Who was this strange vod before him. He didn't know. He hated not knowing. Not knowing was scary. Not knowing got him hurt time and time again.

"I'm.... Thorn? Commander Thorn of the Coruscant Guard? I'm your superior, how do you not know me? We talked a few days ago, you brought me reports, remember?", Thorn was very confused how his red dyed hair could be forgotten so easily? His armor, while painted with the corrie guard colors, also had a small moon design painted on the upper left part of his chest piece, close to his shoulder pads.

"Ah, that is very kind of you, but please", he took the paperwork from the soldier's hands, "Thorn is fine, you don't have to address me by my rank, makes me feel old and ugly", he snorted about his own joke, skimming the report briefly for any critical information.

"What's your name, vod'ika?"

"Birch, sir," said Birch, standing to attention, "Is there anything else you need me to do, sir? I have a patrol to do and I don't want to be late,"

"Yes, please say hi to Glimmer from me", he replied with a smile, now looking up at Birch, "And please have a nice day." He goes in for a warm hug.

Birch retuned the hug, nodded to Thorn, and made his way out. He had a patrol to get to and he didn't want to be late.
