She rode her Harley Davidson motorcycle to meet Michael on the Van Nuys Airport set of his short film “Ghosts” and break the baby news. Michael was getting ready to do a shoot but she convinced him to hop on back of her Harley so they could find a private spot to talk. “I said, ‘You’re going to be a dad!’ I was pregnant,” Rowe recalled. “He was so excited, he ran around the tarmac screaming.”

Next I heard a soft, high-pitched “Hello—“ Okay, in my mind, I was screaming, “OH, MY GOD”! This is Michael Jackson! Talking to ME! See, every black girl my age, who grew up listening to the Jackson 5, had a ‘husband’ from the group picked out. My sister’s was Jermaine and mine was Michael. So, as far as I was concerned, I was now talking to my childhood ‘husband!’ Yeah, inside I was a mess, but my outward demeanor was as unflappable as an AT&T telephone operator. I calmly responded, “Hello, how can I help you?”
