Does this blog still have any followers who are actually active on Tumblr, or are all of you gravestone markers?
we need to bring back shows about four women who are friends again so badly. like for the culture.
everyone reblogging this saying 'yes but with dykes' are WRONG we are NOT talking about the same genre of show. sorry but i am referring to straight groups of women who are friends with no potential sexual tension between them. im talking about tv that is made for straight women and gay men it is CRITICAL to the culture. and before you accuse me (lesbian) of cultural appropriation (shows for straight women) know that i was introduced to these shows as a child by my straight sister like a skittish horse fed sugar cubes at the edge of a field okay. so i can reclaim.
I love an open window and some cool clean air
no one ever tells you to appreciate your knees not hurting while you’re there. whoever you are where ever you are in life if your knees don’t hurt right now just know and remember you have about 45 seconds left
neil has a lot of unintentionally funny moments in his narration but one of the top ten for me will always be when he's on the verge of screaming-crying-throwing-up at the fall banquet because riko knows he's the butcher's son, and then in the middle of all that his brain does a record scratch when he notices a volleyball game being set up because hOW DARE THEY USE AN EXY COURT TO PLAY VOLLEYBALL—

I think staff doesn't realize that all they have to do to make this website profitable is stop changing the UI, leave tumblr as it used to be and ask people to donate to maintain the server it runs on. Ao3 gets double and triple their donation goals because we are dedicated to keep it alive and it would be the same with tumblr. The first step is to accept that we hate change and none of us are leaving. Let us reblog our little images and stop trying to turn this website into a cash grab. This website is full of little freaks with disorders, we are not profitable but we are loyal. Let us have one place where we feel at home.
Where’s the downside to this?
whenever i'm on instagram looking at accounts that do stuff similar to what i do over here (i.e. posting medieval art and manuscript illustrations) i'm like... damn y'all live like this?? 🤨🤨
they'll post the most interesting images that get 1000+ likes, but then you look at the comments and at best it's like, 1-6 people leaving some fire and heart eye emojis... meanwhile whenever one of my posts on tumblr (with the exact same kind of content) reach that number of notes there'll be 50+ witty and/or deranged jokes in the tags, at least as many references to fandoms i've never heard of, people tagging their mutuals like "hey look at this", several people engaging in serious discussion around the subject of the depiction, asking or answering questions, people taking the images as mini creative writing prompts, adding memes, etc...
idk, there are so many people doing cool and interesting stuff on instagram but it just feels like such a fundamentally dead place to me. it's so divided into 'content creation' and 'content consumption' with little space in between for any real social interaction to take place... i don't like this genre of self-congratulatory tumblr posts about tumblr culture but honestly i wouldn't know where else to go 🤷

The way I snort-laughed at the last one was just unceremonious.
hard to believe that in 2016 we were all collectively clicking on Google drive links while waiting for subtitles so we could watch a Norwegian show about two boys and then that show got insanely popular so they made several remakes in Europe- further proving that yes there are other isaks and evens in the parallel universes and yes the curtains are different and really queerness is a long thread and we're all holding onto it and it brings us together minute by minute.
(also it did change the TV landscape because a show like young royals would never get made in 2016)
sir that is my beloved mutual with whom i have not shared a fandom since 2013
One thing I’ve noticed about people in or entering their 30s is they don’t make as many compromises anymore. If someone doesn’t meet them halfway, is not up to standard, is just not where they’re needed to be, they’re just like “ok cool” and they move on from the person. Which is not to say they’re less empathetic or understanding, but more that they have learned that time is their most prized possession and they’re not willing to make massive compromises on it. They are not obsessed w the idea of fixing someone (bc the concept of fixing a person doesn’t really exist). They simply move on to someone who is up to par. I want that. I want to always move w the awareness that time is my most priceless belonging and I can never buy it back. Ever. So I have to use it wisely
