This gif is totally wrong. First of all the asymptotes graph is wrong as they don't go away afterwards, but instead they will meet at the infinity and will stay together forever. It is probably the best kind of love. Secondly, two straight lines, if not parallel to each other, would only come across each other once. It is even sadder than the tangent which is at least having a "touching" moment. Indeed, tangent may actually be the most romantic one. Lastly, for people living on earth, the world is not flat, so one day even parallel lines will come across each others. Just keep going and looking ;)
