       [   “Are you ready Selene?!”  ] Storkules procalimed with much bravado—fists proudly planted at his hip.

        [   “I pleaded with father and he’s decided he’s willing to let us go anywhere we please outside of Ithiquack borders for the whole weekend!”  ]

      [   “No god duties! No responsibilities! We’re relieved from all of that for this weekend!”  ] He’s all too excited at the thought of actually getting permission to have fun!

      [  “We should hang out with plenty of mortals! I was thinking of picking noble Donald up! You should see if your dearest friend Della Duck is willing to join you as well!”  ] Did he already have the chariot called up and on the way—yes he hath.

Did this surprise Selene? Yes, it was very rare their father to give them even a day off but two days and outside of Ithaquack? Even Selene who were more on their Father’s good side never got a permission for this. One reason she may or may not have been sneaking out at times. But ssshh, that’s a secret.

Selene smiled a shook her head a little at his brothers enthusiasm for finally getting out of this island and meet up Donald. Sure Selene was also hyped for this, but she restrained herself for showing it out too much. “Of course! We’ve really earned these few days off” she replied as she climbed in the chariot, taking a seat.

“I would be more than happy to spend time with Della. Last time I saw her was at our door when they wanted- . . . either us to help them or hide in the pantheon” it was still very unclear for her. Since Della usually would be the one who’d fight back but-... Selene was sure she was pleading them to hide Dels and her kids. Weird. “Hope she’s not too upset thought” Selene added as she fell silent for a moment.

“- . . . I was thinking of getting a new haircut! Maybe dye my hair with some very bright color! And then go for a shopping spree for new clothes and such. That’s what mortal girls do, right?” Not that she thought Storks would know about this any more than she does. “How about you? What have you planned for the weekend? Besides hanging with Donald?”

Selene couldn’t help but to let out a chuckle at Donald’s reaction. She have been around a moment and it took this long for him to notice this.

“Usually yes but it’s actually nice to get out of that island for a moment. As much as I love my family, I still need a short distance from them at times. Besides sitting in the pantheon all day long- . . . you don’t know how boring it can get back there” of course Selene didn’t just sit around, she was the one who made the night appear on Earth, her job which wasn’t exciting at all but it’s something she had to do many times in a day.

“I’d would call this a ‘vacation’. And what would be the best way to spend a vacation you ask- . . . well to be with my favorite none gods of this planet” she smiled happily.

“How are things for you and the rest of the family. I haven’t seen you in ages, and last time I saw Della and the kids when they tried to either hide in Ithaquack or get our help with the invasion”¨. Of course father didn’t want any of that to happen” Selene rolled her eyes at that. Zeus was such a piece of work at times.

“Selene, not often I see you out of Ithaquack. From what Dell told me, aren’t you supposed to be grounded or something?” The mortal teased lightly as he shifted the bags that rested on his arms. He was just in the local supermarket picking up some groceries but definitely hadn’t expected to bump into the Goddess of the Moon.

Selene had her own ideas of how to spend the time being grounded and it was not staying indoors and doing nothing. That was just not how it goes for the goddess. Sure his father would be super mad if he ever finds out about Selene sneaking out like this, just to spend time among mortals like she was one of them. The goddess was on her way down town, just to check on what’s the life like in Duckburg until a familiar voice made her stop on her tracks.

“Well as far as everyone is concerned I’m currently locked up in my own room and sulking in a corner while sitting through the punishment” she chuckled a little. “On serious not tho, even gods gets bored on sitting still and father grounding us was just something I don’t need in my life at all. So I took a liberty to sneak out, hoping no one would notice my absence” if she was being grounded for an actual good reason, Selene would take it like a strong goddess she is. But since Selene and Storks were grounded only because they aided McDuck family, which was such a reidiculous reason, Selene wouldn’t just sit still and do nothing.

“So what are you up to, Donald? What do you mortals do for fun? Since you don’t have any godly duties to fill and keep this planet alive and working”

Selene was just standing there. She wasn’t as optimistic about him closing the door unlike her brother was. Selene knew Louie closed the door so he didn’t have to deal with the gods, not that she was complaining. bet the little one had his reasons. With a shrug Selene was also gonna make her leave with Storks but was stopped on her tracks by Donald who opened the door, letting the two best friends having their talk.

“Dollar bill? No, I think we have some Greece currency, euros that is” Selene tilted her head a little. “I somehow feel like those won’t do us any good here huh” well this sucks, did she really have to go back to Greece to have her shopping done? But it was so close to Ithaquack, she didn’t want to be found by their father, not yet at least.

“Is there any place to exhange the money or- . . . is our shopping trip doomed for good?”

Louie had been listening the adults talking, peering at the golden coins Storks showed, while listening. “No, you can exhange the euros, and pawn those golden coins to get some dollars in your hands. Or be me and take money from my uncle- . .c” this is when Louie stopped on his tracks. “- . . . . from Scrooge I mean” he had to clarify it just so Donald wouldn’t get too upset.

“Oh that’s great- . . . where can we do all this? I’m more than thrilled to try out this shopping thing you mortals do” yes, Selene was more than hyped now. She didn’t have to return back to home empty handed after all.

Of course Selene knew they had lots and lots of golden jewelry and artifacts back home at Ithaquack, but those can’t be the only kinds of the world right? Maybe they sell new artifacts at the store that Selene or Storks hasn’t ever seen before. Something that Selene could decorate her room with?

“Well I hope they have something new we don’t got back at home” she said with a single shrug. Little did Selene know they had a lot more in the stores that she could ever imagine. “Currency-.. you believe they don’t accept our golden coins as payment?” Well this would be bit problematic. Selene had taken some golden coins with her in a hope that those would be enough to get some new things for herself.

“We can always ask your bestest friend. Bet Donald knows better, or Scrooge. He knows everything about money” Selene couldn’t help but to let out a small laughter. “Imagine farther’s face if he heard us, talking about asking advice from Scrooge. He would so explode, literally. And take us with him in that explosion” it was fun how their father hated Scrooge so much for being better than him on some random games and such.

“What would you wanna buy from the stores? I heard they sell-… ‘everything’, which is kinda hard for me to understand. Mortals are so weird”

    [  “That is why we’ll never tell father of this conversation!”  ] Storkules said cheerily with a nod.

    If Zeus knew of the fact they were merely contemplating asking not only a mortal for advice, but people in the McDuck clan for help? He would probably  banish both of them to eternal damnation in the underworld.

    [  “I don’t know what they hold in stores, so I can’t really tell what I’d want! I’d have to really look through this mortal construct before finding my special thing.”  ] Being a god left Storkules way complacent with almost everything around them being of godly level.

     As the chariot approached McDuck Manor; it slowly descended down behind the gate, allowing for the two to step out.

    [  “Amazing… It’s really been such a while since I’ve seen this humble abode!”  ] Storkules commented out loud as he begun to walk forward to the manor door. [  “Would you like to knock Selene?”  ]

Not even Selene knew what was in the stores. She had heard that you can buy ‘everything’. So for her that meant the stores had nice golden jewelry and artifacts, maybe from gods of other countries? Who knows. That is something they’d find out later on.

As they got to the manor, Selene stepped out of the chariot as she gave a good look around. “I say, nothing has changed last time I visited here which was-.... over 11 years ago” Selene said as she walked to the door with Storkules. As she was given a permission to be the one who knock on the door, she took a deep breath before giving four loud knocks now waiting for someone to open the door up.

“What if they are on some adventure? You know this family, hardly stays put and is always having something going on, on their lives” Selene pondered out loud. Maybe they should have called first. But after a short while the door opened up as a small duckling in green hoodie glared up at the duo.

“No- . . . just no” he slammed the door shut as quickly as he had opened it. “We don’t want any adventures today! Go away!”

Since Storkules and Selene are confirmed to be siblings, are we going to see them interact in the future?

Selene gave a nod at her brother. Shopping was something she had always wanted to try but since they were gods, they haven’t tried everything that mortals had invented. Such as riding a car, eating in a fancy restaurant or-.. shopping.

“You don’t know what shopping is? I’m not one hundred percent sure how it works, but-.. there are things called stores where mortals buys stuff with something called money. They give money to get what they want from the store” Selene explained happily. Maybe these stores had something she would want or need. Even thought Selene wasn’t sure what the thing was she wanted/needed in her life. Maybe a new weapon? Who knows!

“I’m so exited! Mortals has so many weird customs and things I want to try! Hope they have lots of cool artifacts or golden jewelry in these places they call stores”

That sounded like such a good advice. Selene was waiting much worse, but she won’t complain. “Ah, noted. Throw people to the moon if they annoy me, gotcha” she let out a chuckle

“Hey wait a minute, what other people?”

    [  “The moonlanders. The entire civilization living on the moon’s surface. You… don’t know of them?”  ] Donald questioned.

    He knew she was goddess of the moon, so she should know about the people living on there? Well, that was what he assumed for the most part.

“Oh those guys who invaded Earth and made Moon the main ‘planet’ and Earth orbiting it” Selene said with a chuckle. That was sorta cool but then again she hated the fact that moonlanders took over the Moon and tried to play gods.

“Have to go with no. I only noticed their existence when the invasion was going on. I may be goddess of the Moon but it’s beyond me what’s happening on it’s surface unless it’s being in grave danger. It’s my duty just to make sure Moon stays on it’s place and safe from destruction, balancing Earth so the very core won’t kill you all, and provide the night time on you all”

“If you are willing to live with that I guess we ha-…” Selene couldn’t even end her sentence before her brother punched the door open. Well, it seems Selene’s plan worked. She gave a nod and followed Storkules out of the pantheon.

“You made a good choice there. I know father hates us doing mortal stuff or hanging with our friends but in the end we are the new generation, we need more space and liberty than-… father and his brothers did back at our age” meaning the oldest gods. Besides now that they were together in this, they could stand a chance against Zeus for not smiting them with lightnings as a punishment.

“So, what should we do first? Pay visit at Duckburg? I know you want to” for Selene it was actually one and the same what they did. She just needed to get the hell out of this place for a moment.

    Storkules had listened as he rushed out to the beach, wasting no time to let out a sharp whistle that piereced through the air.

    [  “Yes! Onwards To Duckburg!”  ] Storkules nodded in agreeance, rocking happily on his feet. Was he nervous? Definitely, but he was also more than giddy to be doing this! He felt like he was starting a great rebellion against their father. That left an unsettling feeling in his stomach; however, he also knew he didn’t want to never see Donaldl again. 

    Just ten + years of not seeing him was complete agony for the stork.

    Soon a white chariot came beckoning down from the heavens, parking in front of the two.

    [  “Let us make history!” ] Storkules said, beginning to go forward to the chariot before he paused. [  “Halt. There’s something I must do!”  ] He ran off, gone for a good moment before he returned.

    [  “I just had to make a note to father about our absence and rebellion. I feel this will make things less bad on our end!”  ] Storkules smiled, before entering the chariot.

Selene couldn’t help but to smile at his brother. Duckburg was nicely far away from this place and it always offered such a weird adventures whenever Selene visited there. Maybe this time she would like to check the city and not stay in the McDuck manor area the whole trip. “Y-..yeah! Let’s make history! Let’s show how the gods should be now a days!” Selene said at his brother and was about to get on but got stopped on her tracks by his brother. “A what now?” she asked and looked after Storks. Maybe it wasn’t anything she had to worry about.

Selene sat inside the chariot as she waited Storks to come back here. After hearing what her brother did, Selene glared at Storkules with huge eyes. She so wanted to give him a piece of her mind but- . . . instead she let it slide. Maybe it would make their father less angry, but then again- . . . Storkules may have just painted Zeus sized targets on their backs with this. “Good job, bet father will understand us now more” Selene knew her brother was bit simple, good hearted but not too bright. She didn’t want to hurt his feelings.

“Okay! Now to the Duckburg to spend at least one day out before being locked back indoors!” Selene stated before the chariot started to transfer them towards the Duckburg.  “I know that the first thing we do is to visit at McDuck manor, but after that I want to try this mortal thing called ‘Shopping’. I’ve only heard of it and noticed many mortals loving to do it” Selene never had an occasion to do this before, now might be her last chance to go and shop things for herself.

    [  “My spine is most intact Selene.”  ] Storkules corrected sternly–not exactly getting she wasn’t saying he literally had no spine, but was instuating he was being a coward.

    With the mention of Zeus being at some god meeting, Storkules stared down in contemplation–a hand rubbed his lower beak–before his eyes widened at the statement of NEVER getting to see his beloved chum Donald again!

     Hearing that, the god wasted not a second to punch open the door to the pantheon; it practically flew from its hinges and straight into the ocean with a hard splash.

     [  “Come Selene! We must escape our prison at once! I can’t never see my bestest friend again!”  ]

“Hey Storks, I know we are forever grounded for helping Scrooge and his family but I could really need a fresh air. Could you keep father busy for a moment-.. like few days? That would help a lot”

It hasn’t been more than few days but staying in Pantheon really started to take it’s toll on Selene. She didn’t like to stay indoors this long. “Of course you can join me if you want to. What’s father gonna do, ground us again?”

    Storkules was a goody two shoes. If Zeus said they were grounded and there was no looming threat hanging over there heads—then he will bite his tongue and follow said order.

     Thus why he stared at Selene—wide-eyed and in disbelief of her request to him. To deceive father again. Isn’t this how they ended up grounded forever in the first place?!

    [  “Dearest Selene, I do not mean to scold but hath we’ve already received punishment from father for disobeying his orders? Why would you want to sneak out and risk the chance of making him madder?”  ] Storkules practically whimpered. Who knows what kind of harsher punishment lie in store if he agreed to this.

Storkules’ reaction did not surprise Selene, not even a one bit. Sure this could make their father even more mad than he already was. But the whole point of sneaking out was to-.. well sneak out without Zeus noticing that they were gone.

“Oh c’mon Storks, where’s your spine at? We could just sneak out for a moment and get back before father notices anything. Besides he is stuck on his god duties so there’s a higher chance for him not to notice our absence” Selene tried to protest back at his brother. Hoping he would just go with it.

“Besides being stuck in this pantheon forever would drive me crazy. I need something else to do than sitting in my chamber for the rest of my life.” yes Selene did have her own duties but she could do them elsewhere while having a break from this punishment.

“Don’t you miss Donald? If you are gonna follow father’s orders, you won’t see him ever again” Selene did know his brothers weak spot and it was something she’d always use against him if needed.

While Donald wasn’t trying to accuse Selene of the Invasion, he was still trying to get some of his facts right. After all, if she knew about the people on the moon, there was a chance she knew about Della being on the moon and neglected to tell her mourning family. Or she may have known Donald was stuck up there and didn’t tell anyone. That didn’t seem like something the Goddess would do, however, so Donald just wanted to settle somethings first.

“Got it. Sorry, it was all just so bizarre and fast that I’m still a bit confused. Cause honestly, the job ‘Moon Goddess’ does make it sound like you control things moon related. But I guess that’s not how it works, huh?”

Selene blinked once in confusion. That’s exactly her job, to control over the moon, to make it cope so the Earth wouldn’t be in any danger but what happens on it’s surface, individuals landing there, meteors crashing on the Moon, that was not her business, until Moon was in grave danger. Then it was Selene’s time to act, like during the invasion.

“You are not wrong there, Donald. I do have, almost full, control over the moon, but not when it’s about the surface and people landing in there. I get alerted only if moon is in danger, which in this case did not include Della crash landing or moonlanders living in there at peace” Selene replied with calm tone.

“Trust me, whenever an asteroid storm approaches, that’s a real struggle”

"Did you, like..... Know there was a whole civilization up on the moon or did you just find out from the invasion? Cause a heads up would have been nice."

“I did not know this before the invasion started. Sure I’m the goddess of the moon but I don’t know anything that happens on it’s surface, until someone or something is being a threat to it. And what I noticed, these invaders weren’t any thread to the Moon to begin with” Selene explained, somewhat feeling like she was accused for this invasion. But little did she know about it before the moonlanders attacked on Earth.

“My job is to keep moon safe and that it stays on it’s place so Earth wouldn’t be destroyed”
