It was the fifth time Mads had uttered that phrase in the past 10 minutes, and Ghita had had enough. Granted she was currently eight months pregnant and waddling everywhere, but climbing down a flight of stairs did not require presidential levels of caution. 

However, Ghita had failed to consider that if she was stubborn, Mads could be an absolutely obstinate mule. She sensed a change in his tactics as Mads rounded the corner, gently taking a hold of her arm as they descended the final steps. 

"You know, its your fault I'm in this situation" Ghita grumbled, narrowing her eyes at Mads' ever growing smirk.

"You're not entirely wrong…but I do vividly remember you being an extremely willing participant at the time." 

Screw him. 

"You should be nicer to me, considering I'm currently growing our child in here! Miracle of life and all that…"

"And for that I am eternally grateful to you Darling."

Mads' words had their intended effect as Ghita softened, the tension leaving her shoulders as Mads gently pressed a kiss to her forehead. The hospital quieted around them, creating another one of those quiet moments that solidified how much she truly loved him, annoyingly protective instincts and all.
