SHE DOESN’T WANT TO go home. not when the skies are so pretty –– almost as pretty as the man at her side, and that forsaken look that’s always on his face. and ESPECIALLY when she might as well be at home already ( but can a person be a home ? ). she knows this feeling thick in her stomach already ; it’s not new but it’s thrice what she’s used to and she can never stop the thrumming in her chest or the way she’s always searching for his hand. “ have i ever told you how cute you are ? you’re too nice to me, sunshine boy. ” he’s nice, and she likes that about him, but what’s a trouble-making, chaos-causing woman like her good for a nice boy like that ? and yet he’s there, because he’s always there when he knows she’s not the good girl she looks like. but she giggles a familiar kind of giggle that fills the space between them quickly anyway, far too fond and far too flattered. “ babe. school’s more important than me. you can’t FAIL me. ” she’s sincere, because she knows the time’ll come when they have to leave and she’ll pout as long as she always does when he declines sleeping at her side –– yet she won’t mind for she’s strangely invested in his education even with the distractions she’s eager to provide –– but that alone doesn’t stop her moment of weakness. fingers wrapping around strands of hair, tugging loosely as more of those same giggles flutter out. she’s content, painfully so, from the way he’s clung around her, to the breeze waving that smell of his around ( then again, he always smelt good ) or even the simple fact alone that her staff L I K E him. IT takes a minute, the words that string along from those nice lips of his… her neck jutting back so she can look at him entirely. maybe she’s reading into it more than she should but she watches him fondly anyway, blinking a few times at the oh so casual sentencing. “ are you trying to make me your GIRLFRIEND, kim moonkyu ? ”
THERE’S SO MUCH to do, so much stress that builds up upon moonkyu’s shoulders at this time of the year because it’s midterms –– it’s assignments and exams, and moonkyu’s anxiety usually bares this stress head-on to the point where it’s uncontrollable, how much he has to go through this alone, but ever since yumi had sporadically entered his life ... moonkyu barely recognizes the face of his disorder because yumi had been everything in his life that he was willing to sacrifice because she makes things easier on him. there are no worries or constant upbringings about university with her, it’s always simple smiles and the soft fleeting touches of her hands that makes something inside of him swell with adoration; and moonkyu’s sure that he’s in love. “ i’m not anywhere near to how cute you are, princess –– ” he replies stubbornly whilst hands reach up to remove a stray piece of hair that lingers upon her face, tucking in behind her ear whilst huffing a laugh of content. she’s perfect; she’s so, so perfect with this ray of sun that flutters against her eyelashes or the small, petite body that slants perfectly against his. the grin that’s etched on his lips soon turn into a lopsided smile as he continues to pull her closer onto his, back settling against the blanket underneath as her weight shifts onto his. “ baby, i can afford to lose school. ( i really can’t. ) but i can’t afford to lose you. ( i really, really can’t. ) ” he smiles through his words because it’s all true, remotely, to the point where he’s smiling down at her adorning features, ignoring the setting sun that begins to hide behind massive trees that linger around them as an arm snakes around her back and pulls her until lips press against the crown of her head. though, he tried to play it off –– he’s thought about this. her. THEM. he wants them to be the real thing and all that second-guessing, that desperate hope that she likes him more than just physical comfort, moonkyu’s hands clam up as brown hues meet his own and moonkyu offers a small, sincere smile whilst shrugging. “ i just ... i dunno. i really, really like you so –– this is me. officially asking you to be my girlfriend. ”
