Hey. Why isn’t the moon landing a national holiday in the US. Isn’t that fucked up? Does anyone else think that’s absurd?

It was a huge milestone of scientific and technological advancement. (Plus, at the time, politically significant). Humanity went to space! We set foot on a celestial body that was not earth for the first time in human history! That’s a big deal! I’ve never thought about it before but now that I have, it’s ridiculous to me that that’s not part of our everyday lives and the public consciousness anymore. Why don’t we have a public holiday and a family barbecue about it. Why have I never seen the original broadcast of the moon landing? It should be all over the news every year!

Sorry just watched Howl’s Moving Castle for the first time and I do have to say that I love that Howl’s first big meltdown is because he became ginger

So actually it wasn’t just because he “became ginger”, it was also a breakdown of the carefully constructed mask he has been hiding behind.

The hair is simply the trigger

This is our first real glimpse at all his insecurities and fears he carries deep down about his own appearance and identity!

His entire persona is built around the idea of being insanely beautiful, in the book he is even completely obsessed about it. His looks are a means of control and projecting an image to conceal his true self. It goes even further: his hair becomes a physical representation of his emotions and inner conflicts.

All of his looks changing represent his actual wellbeing and the change he goes through in the movie! I really recommend watching it again and looking out for the changes in hair and his temper, it is amazing. One of the best art pieces out there!
