why are there so many slot machines/online slots inspired by ancient stuff?

so, i live in an area where casinos are legal (some are state-sanctioned even !!), so there are lots of adverts for slot games, often featuring zeus or somesuch. the white pharaoh image came from an online slot game as well. so why are slot makers so obsessed with ancient egypt and greek myth? is it some sort of psychological thing or is everyone just copying something? genuine question
