summary: After you and Max officiall
pairing: Max Hatter x Rapunzel&Eugene's daughter!reader
summary: After you and Max officially started dating, you decided to gather all of the important people in your life to share that.
warnings: fluff, maybe a little angst (?), use of Y/N, slight swearing, kissing, confessing, scared of losing important people, nervousness, comfort
part: one, two
a/n: Before this starts; Thank you all for leaving so much positive feedback on part one! I love and appreciate y'all so much!! By popular demand and this very particular request (see below), I wrote part two with my own little twist! I originally meant for this story to be a one shot, but I see and hear y'all! But I'm not sure if I'll write another part here. I will definitely write other fics for Max soon! Whoever send this: Thank you so much! I loved the idea! And I hope you enjoy!! <3
Just after you and Max decided to make things official you agreed to gather all your friends and family to tell them.
You concluded it would be easier that way. Meeting all the important people in the garden of Auradon prep to let them know.
"I think we should tell them all at once. It's easier that way," you explained when you met each other in the broom closet again the next day.
"I don't know, Y/N. That's a lot of attention at once," he reasoned nervously.
You knew usually he loved attention, but this was way more serious. Way too important for him.
"Don't worry. I'm sure it'll go well," you explained brushing his shoulder in a calming matter.
He sighed with a shrug, "I'm not sure. You know what Hazel and the other VKs think about HKs."
You exhaled too. He was right. They especially had something against princesses. Saying you were spoiled. But you were anything but. Your parents might be royalty, but neither of them grew up with it. So you didn't grew up like a classic 'spoiled' princess.
"I know. But they're your friends. I'm sure they just want what's best for you."
Max couldn't help but nod. They might be tough shells to crack but deep down they do care.
So it was settled.
You both parted ways again, after a quick kiss, to notify all the important people in your life to meet in the Auradon garden the next day.
Saturday. The big day. Somehow you were the nervous one now, and just all up in your head. Even though you were the one who kept reassuring Max that everything will be alright.
You and Max were the first to be at the meeting point.
"You think they will all be here on time?", you asked as you kept fidgeting with the little charm on your necklace. It had the signature sun symbol of your mother on it.
"Yes. My friends will be on time. I made sure of it."
You finally exhaled. Because you knew that your friends and parents were always on time.
Since you were still fidgeting with the charm, Max reached up to take your hand and intertwine your fingers with his.
"We're gonna be okay, yeah?", he reassured you.
Sighing, you gave him a nod, "Yeah. Thanks."
He just smiled and guided your hand up, to give it a soft kiss.
Carefully letting go of your hand you two heard voices from a distance.
"What are you guys doing here?", it was Red who talked first.
"I could ask you the same, princess. Max called us," now it was Hazel who replied.
Curiously they walked faster to see you and Max standing awfully close next to each other.
So it begins, you thought.
"What is this?", Red asked with a stinky eye, pointing between the two of you. She get's overly protective sometimes. But so does Hazel.
"Why are we all here?", Hazel added.
"We-," you wanted to start but then you saw your parents approach.
Everything started to hit Max now. The Queen and King from Corona. Right.
Looking at Max with a soft smile and then back to your parents, you started to run off towards them. Hugging your mother first and then, just as tight, you father next.
"What the-", Hazel started.
"-hex," Felix finished her thought.
"The Queen and King of Corona?," Luis thought out loud.
"Y/N's parents," Pink added happily but quieter. She always wanted to meet them. Even though this might be a strange setting for such. She mostly didn't care anyway.
After you happily greeted your parents, Eugene was the first to ask questions.
"Sundrop, why have you called us all the way?"
You nervously chuckled as you walked ahead of them. "There is something important I have to share."
Rapunzel and Eugene looked at each other with knowing eyes.
You wrote to your parents almost every day. Keeping them updated about your life at Auradon prep.
Sharing stuff you learned or people you'd get to know. You told them how you wanted to get close to some VKs, even mentioning the ones that were gathered here, but you never dared to do the move.
Now seeing them, and your friends you already talked about, standing a bit far from one particular VK boy. They were suspicious.
As you approached the others everyone looked at your parents starstruck. Sure, they were royalty, but now they were just your parents.
"Chloe, how you have grown. I have last seen you when you were a baby and your brother, Chad, a wild toddler," Rapunzel said with a giggle of the memories as she stood in front of her and caressed her hair.
Chloe smiled a little nervously because she had no memory as such.
"You were probably too young to remember," Eugene added.
"I was," Chloe agreed to his theory.
"Too bad. Still, tell your mother I said hi. We really should catch up again," Rapunzel said a little sentimental as she thought about the days where all the princesses, who are now all most likely Queens, hung out together.
"I will definetly let her know," Chloe agreed with a nod.
"Thank you, sweetheart," Rapunzel added before walking around the rest of the group.
"Guys, stop staring," you finally snapped and all the attention went to you, now standing next to Max.
Your parents stood next to you, close to the HKs, looking at you a little worried.
With a sigh you tried again, "So... the reason why you all are here."
It was almost like you had to ask yourself again too. Looking at everyone who is important to you and then to everyone that's important to Max, to eventually him, made this all too real.
Max gave you a warm and reassuring nod as you looked at him, as if to say "you got this."
Swallowing you gave him a nod back and looked around, not knowing who to look at directly.
"Max and I- we are dating," you eventually said and happily sighed, as it finally got out.
Everyone froze. But Max just softly reached for your hand and looked at you warmly.
"Yeah. We're a couple," he added carefully but happy.
"Y-you can't be serious," Hazel blurred out.
Felix just hit hear shoulder and she just looked at him with this mean, typical Hook, stare.
"What?! I'm sorry but there is just no way her parents will approve," she added to her thought.
Suddenly there was this eerie feeling in the air.
Red shifted, it felt like she almost wanted to agree with her.
"Max. We are VKs. You know what that means and what the worlds thinks about us," Hazel reasoned as she stepped forward.
Max sighed. He feared something like this would come up.
"But that's not who we are. It's who our parents are!," he perfectly reasoned.
You felt his anger and how worked up he got about it, so you just gently squeezed his hand. He appreciated the comfort, you always knew what he needed.
Sighing softly the tried again, "I know what people think of us. But we have to show them that we are different. If we just gonna give up and do nothing... what's the point?"
Hazel swallowed at his words. It seemed like he hit a nerve there. But he was right. She knew it. The other VKs knew it. And so did the HKs.
"But- the Queen and King," Hazel still kinda wanted to be right about something.
Max just then realized you both haven't payed attention to them.
Simultaneously you all looked over to the Queen and King of Corona.
With pleasant surprise you saw a single tear fall down your mothers cheek and your father being awfully close to do the same.
"Our daughter is growing up so fast, sunshine," Eugene said to Rapunzel as he squeezed her hand, which he was holding while their arms were hooked.
They both turned to you and got a step closer.
"I'm so proud of you, Y/N," Rapunzel said to you as she caressed your cheek.
Now turning her head to face Max, she smiled, "Welcome to the family, Max."
And without warning she let go of you and Eugene and pulled Max into a hug.
For a moment Max was stunned. He almost forgot there were parents out there who actually cared, unlike his. Carefully he hugged her back and sniffled, trying to stay composed, "Thank you."
You were so happy at the sight that you just joined in, hugging both, your mother and boyfriend.
Eugene couldn't help but do it too, "Family hug."
You giggled as you all eventually let go, "Thank you, mom. And dad."
Both had to laugh and waved their hands dissmisevely.
"Thank you for sharing, sundrop," your father thanked.
The sudden quiet from Hazel's side was a little unusual.
Your friends however decided to chime in first.
"Congratualtions you two!", Pink said happily as she clapped, "I knew there was something up between you two."
Her tone was playful but as she nudged Red and Red just rolled her eyes, you couldn't help but feel a little truth behind it.
Red finally uncrossed her arms and seemed happy about it, "Seems like I misjudged.. I'm happy for you two."
"Yeah. Thank you for telling us," Chloe said softly with a pleasant smile. "I'm also very happy for you two."
"Oh, me too. I am thrilled, actually," Luis said with a happy chuckle.
"Same here. Congratulations," Robbie added with a thumbs up.
"Thank you guys," you said happily as you looked around your friends and then back to Max.
"Thank you for giving me a chance," Max added.
"Everyone deserves it," Luis just simply replied, with a bro like nod towards him.
It was easy to tell that Max appreciated it more than he'd like to admit.
Hazel and the others watched. Quietly first, but it got interrupted with a deep sigh of her, gabbing everyone's attention.
"I hate to admit it but... I guess, I was wrong," she looked at you and then Max before quickly mumbling, "Iamsorry."
Max eyes widened. An apology! From Hazel? That was rare.
But he somehow felt a little bold with all this new gathered confidence from now.
Raising one eyebrow he leaned a little forward, "Sorry, what did you say?"
She groaned as she crossed her arms, "Gosh, I'm sorry, okay?"
He scoffed as he stood straight again, "Alright, got it. Thank you."
Hazel couldn't help but roll her eyes playfully, nudging his shoulder as they fall back into their casual banter.
"You two actually look cute together so. Congrats," Hazel said now way more relaxed knowing everyone was fine.
"Thanks," Max mumbled warmly as she gave her an approving nod.
Felix finally stepped out of Hazel's shadow and couldn't help himself but flicker a tarot card towards the both of you. The card hanging mid air, in from of your two faces.
"The lovers. That's you two. I felt it in my bones all along! Congratulations," he commented happily as the card suddenly vanished.
The smile on your face was unbeatable, Max noticed.
"Thank you, bro," Max said as he patted Felix's shoulder.
Felix just waved his hand dismissively and before he could say anything, the Smee's jumped up from each shoulder of him.
"We're so happy too," Squeaky jumped.
"Totally, joyous," Squirmy added.
"Congratulations you two," they both said in unison.
You couldn't help but laugh at their theatrics. On top of that Felix shoved them both off, with pushing their faces away. His hands flat into their faces. Max couldn't help but scoff too.
After all of them congratulated you, realization hit. Turning to Max, you chuckled, your face falling flat to his chest.
"We did it," you mumbled with a breathless chuckle.
"We did," he mumbled back into your hair now and gave you a little kiss.
"Gosh, I was so scared, actually," you confessed as you looked back up to him.
Max chuckled softly as he reached up to wipe a single tear off your cheek.
He knew. Yesterday you acted all tough and were the one to soothe his worries. Deep down you were the one with worries all along.
"You did great! Thank you for trusting and telling us. All of us," Pink happily announced like she suddenly was speaking for the group. But right now? She might have been.
Everyone agreed and mumbled something.
Out of nowhere neighing was heard from afar. You immediately knew it was Maximus, probably calling for your parents.
Your father confirmed your theory with a scoff, "Well that's our ride calling. We better go, sunshine."
Rapunzel agreed and nodded with a sigh, "You're probably right, honey."
Turning to the group she looked at all of the kids there.
"I couldn't have hoped for a better group of friends to love and take care of my daughter. Thank you, for being the way you are kids," looking over to the VKs she added, "All of you. I'm proud of you. Don't forget to be your true selves, okay?"
The true words of your mother seemed to have touch all of you. Because even the very tough Hazel sniffled.
"Thank you, Que-", Hazel started but your mother stopped her.
"It's just Rapunzel."
Hazel nodded in understanding, "Right. Thank you, Rapunzel."
Everyone chimed in with the thanking before your mother turned to you and Max again. Squeezing both of your cheeks simultaneously she hummed.
"You two cuties take good care of each other. I know both of you are strong souls individually, but together you are stronger. Use that. For good."
Finally she let go of you too and went in for a soft hug. Hugging you two at the same time.
"You know I did," your dad couldn't help but add, making your mother let go of you two again.
"Eugene!", you mother exclaimed as she hit hits shoulder.
"It's true," he added rubbing his shoulder, "I did turn good."
You and Max scoffed at your parents banter.
Max couldn't help but wonder if you two would end up like them eventually. Happy. Never loosing this banter. Married.
"Well.. we gotta go. Have a wonderful day," Rapunzel said as she softly kissed your forehead followed with a tight hug.
After she let go it was Eugene's turn, hug first, then forehead kiss, "And I only wanna take Maximus on another long stride when it's time for Family Day, you hear me?"
He was playful. Always was. You knew he loved going on a ride. But you complied. Putting one hand up and the other on your heart as a promising salute.
"I promise, no more urgent visits."
Eugene smirked, patting your shoulder, "That's my daughter."
You rolled your eyes playfully as you dropped it.
Another neigh could be heard from the distance, now a little closer.
"He's getting impatient. We 'outta go. See ya, sundrop. Max," Eugene unexpectedly turned to Max.
Max swallowed as he stared at your father.
"You take care. And welcome to the family, from me too. From one ex-thief to another," Eugene said as he pointed at himself and then him. "You're gonna do good," he added knowingly with a typical wink of his.
Eugene's hand rested on his shoulder and he gave him a soft squeeze.
Max nodded with consent, "Thank you, sir."
"Eugene," he corrected him.
"Right. Sorry. Eugene."
With a nod, the Queen and King of Corona backed up and said their goodbye's to everyone. Right after, they went back to Maximus and made their way back home.
It felt like just then you were finally able to breathe out. You were still starring into the direction to where your parents just left.
"Y/N. You're fine," Red approached you and got your attention, "I'm sorry you worried so much about today. I know I'm a big part of that so.. I'm really sorry."
You smiled faintly as you got over to hug her, "It's okay. Thank you."
"Group hug!" Pink suddenly yelped as she went in to hug you too.
All of the HKs followed, Luis being the last, nudging Max over. He approached carefully hugging everyone. Doing the same head movement, he tried to lure Hazel and the others in.
The Smee's jumped easily to the hug and Felix pulled Hazel with him.
You couldn't believe the amount of luck you had.
After the hug all of your friends started to mingle along each other.
"You did amazing," Max finally turned to you as everyone else was busy telling jokes and other stories.
"No, you did," you tried to reason.
"I'm so relieved your parents accepted me how they did. It really made me feel like I'd belong... like I was wanted," Max said. The hurt in his voice was inevitable. He talked about his father a few times before. What he did and how Max was treated. So you know how important this was for him.
"Because you are. You are so loved. By your friends. By me. And now my parents too. My friends will come along eventually as well. Some of them already have. But you don't have to worry now," you said as you hugged him from the side and went a little on your tiptoes to kiss his cheek.
He exhaled in relaxation and turned his head to look at you after the kiss to his cheek.
"Thank you. For everything. I promise, I will never let you down."
"I know," you said with a playful nudge to his shoulder.
He just rolled his eyes to which he turns to grab your face and slam his lips on yours. Not caring a single bit about the fact that the others started cheering or making throw up noises.
After today everything changed for the better and you couldn't be more glad about that.
a/n: again thank you all for the love and support! I hope y'all like this as much as the first part! I'm open for any other requests! also let me know if you wanna be added to my taglist! could be general one or specific (just let me know!)

summary: Going bowling with your new found friendgroup!
warning: use of Y/N, fluff, readers fav colour is pink, wears the same colour every day, outfit suggestion (just a visualisation help), being bad at bowling, this ones pretty girly honestly, not proofread!!
part: one, two, (three)
The whole week you spent your breaks with Cody and his friends. Now being your friends too. Talking about all sort of things and getting to know each other. It was great fun, honestly. They made you feel safe and seen. Nothing you ever felt in a group. Not like you had one to begin with anyway.
So meeting them tonight for bowling got you so excited. Especially your parents were excited for you. As you got ready you couldn't help but think about Cody's compliment of how good pink looks on you. He was the first guy to ever tell you that.
As you got ready you decided to wear this outfit.
Feeling cute and all you did your makeup to your liking.
Once you were all done you made your way to the bowling alley to meet them there.
The bowling alley was pretty busy that night but it just added to the atmosphere. You just knew you all would have a great time.
And oh man, you did. Everyone playing purely for the fun of it and not to make it a competition. That was so important to you. And Jesse didn't lie when he said Yvonne was a witch.
Everyone groaned as she did another stirke.
"How do you do it?", you asked after throwing your hands up.
Laughing she sat down next to you and nudged your shoulder, "Magic."
"I'm actually this close to believing that," you said as you showed her with your fingers.
Everyone laughed as Kyle threw his ball, just hitting two pins. The banter flowed easily. Laughing and talking as a group. No one was left behind and you felt so comfortable.
"Does anyone want another drink?", Cody asked the group after he finished his soda.
Everyone was pretty quick to agree and give in their orders. As he repeated them to make sure he got it right, he turned to face you, smiling softly, "Care to join me?"
You got up at an instant, "Absolutely."
With a smile he nodded towards the bar, which this bowling alley had. As you started walking side by side he turned to you.
"You havin' fun?", he seemed genuinely curious.
Smiling, you looked at him, "Yeah. Thank you for the invite, by the way."
He shook his head, "No need to thank me."
After a moment of quiet he added, "I'm glad you decided to join us."
You barely believed your two ears. He was glad? That you joined? Hearing these words made you feel butterflies in your stomach honestly.
"So am I," is all you could mumble back, avoiding eye contact.
Stopping in front of the bar, Cody slid the menu over to you.
"What ya want?"
You looked up at him, with soft blushed cheeks, "Uhm- just another Coke."
He nodded with a smile, giving the bartender the groups order. Watching him closely made you feel some sort of admiration. There was something so comforting about his demeanor.
"I love your outfit, by the way," Cody suddenly said as he turned to you.
Now you were done for. Your cheeks reddening as you didn't dare to look at him.
"Thank you," you mumbled as you slowly looked at him, "I decided to go with something more simple." Fumbling with your dress a little, he smiled.
"It suits you. I think the pink highlights your eyes," he was completely turned towards you as he said that, looking at you with such a soft expression. You just knew he meant every word.
Never did anyone ever compliment you so honest, especially not your eyes.
"Really?", you tilted your head towards him. You wanted to focus on him now, slowly not that bothered about your flushed cheeks now.
"Yes. You have beautiful eyes," Cody started blushing now too. He usually tried to flirt more subtlety but something about you made him just blur out.
"I-," your mind went blank as you laughed. "No one ever told me so. Thank you."
"Really? That's criminal," he seemed almost baffle about that piece of information. To him you were like an angel.
"Yeah... always heard quite the opposite.. well not about my eyes but me in general," you weren't sure what it was but something about him just made you spill out.
He remembered what you have previously told him. Just the mere thought of you getting bullied for how you dress made him incredibly furious and protective over you.
His eyebrows slightly furrowed, "I hope you know that that's not the truth about you."
You smiled softly and nodded, "Don't worry, I know."
"Good," he exhaled, relaxing a little, "-because I'd be damned if a pretty girl like you didn't realize how beautiful she was."
You couldn't help but chuckled, rolling your eyes as you eventually just nudged his shoulder, "You're a real smooth talker, huh?"
He laughed, playfully brushing his shoulder off, "Oh, the smoothest."
"I can tell."
"But just to you," he added so sweetly, "I mean that."
Your heart jumped several beats, just looking at him. As the bartender interrupted this tender moment, placing the drinks next to you, you had to snap out of it.
"Oh, uhm, drinks are here," you slowly came back to your senses.
Each of you took three drinks, balancing it easily as you got back to the others. Placing the drinks on the table Dani spoke up quickly, saying your name.
"I played for you and Kyle for Cody. We hope that was okay."
You chuckled, " Of course, that's okay."
Cody checked the board and saw that Kyle hit no pins in one round, "You could have at least tried to hit some pins, Kyle."
"Hey, I did try!", he tried to protest as he threw his hands up.
Everyone laughed as the group fell back into a normal banter.
Ever since the conversation at the bar, Cody and you have been sneaking looks at each other, almost blushing every now and then.
Yvonne seemed to be noticing it and decided to take on some investigations. It was Cody's turn now and he was discussing techniques with Jesse so she took the opportunity.
As she said your name and sat next to you, she got your attention.
"You're enjoy this, huh?"
You chuckled with a wide smile, "Very much so."
"I am glad. You're real fun," she said, nudging your shoulder.
"I heard getting a compliment out of you is hard, so thank you very much. I appreciate it," you nudged her back.
"Yeah, don't get used to it...," she said playfully.
Following your gaze she noticed that you were looking at Cody again. As she looked back at you she couldn't hold back anymore.
"Cody wanted to talk to you ever since your first day, you know?"
She got your attention, "Really?"
"Oh yeah. He was almost too eager. But he waited and after seeing you alone all the time he finally approached you."
Hearing her say that made you blush, mumbling softly as you looked at him, "I'm glad he did."
"So are we," Yvonne said, getting your attention back. "You like him, huh?"
You scoffed as you nodded, "I like all of you."
She rolled her eyes as she nudged you, "You know what I mean."
And you did. Sighing you looked at Cody again as if you had to consider.
You did like him. A lot. He's the sweetest and most considerate guy you ever met.
"I know," you eventually said as you looked back to her. Without saying another word you just gave her a subtle nod with a pout that said it all.
"I knew it," she quietly replied as she got even closer to mumble, "He does too, you know."
Turning your head to look at her, you couldn't quite believe it. Even though deep down you knew it too. The compliments kinda gave it away.
You looked at Cody again who watched Jesse throw the ball now.
"Yeah," you whispered.
Jesse hit a strike and Cody got so excited. Watching him celebrate with Jesse made your heart flutter, blushing like stupid.
It was like Cody felt you were watching him because he met your gaze, smiling at you warmly before looking back at Jesse again after he got called over.
"I think you should ask him out," Yvonne suddenly made you snap out of it.
Your eyes widened as you looked at her, "What?"
"You heard me. Ask him out. You two should do something alone."
She was so serious about this it kinda made you feel like she knew even more than she already led on. But it weirdly made you trust her.
"You know what?... that actually sounds nice."
"Good..," she said as she looked towards Cody, doing something that made your heart jump, "Cody! Come over here."
With joy Cody came over to the two of you, towering in front of you two sitting on a couch. "What's up?"
Yvonne nudged you and started the conversation, "Oh not much. Just chatting. But Y/N over here had a little question for you."
She looked at you, giving a promising nod.
"Right uhm-", you started and she got up to leave you two alone.
"I'll leave you too it," she mumbled as she got up.
Cody sat down where she was sitting.
"Okay... what is it?", he asked curiously, leaning his elbow on the back of the couch, facing you.
You turned to look at him. Suddenly realizing how close you two were, you had to swallow. "I- uhm- well... I was wondering.. if you wanna do something on Friday?"
"Next Friday?", he asked, probably to buy some time. You gave him a nod. "Sure. What did you have in mind?"
Your hands suddenly started sweating, "Uhm- Nothing in particular. It's gonna be nice outside so maybe something outside?"
He smirked softly, probably figuring out what this was about. "Just us?"
His question was so casual it made your heart jump.
"Uhm- yeah. Just us."
His smile was wide and made you relax a little.
"Okay....," he thought for a moment before continuing, "we could.. go out for ice cream?"
Cody cursed himself for this silly suggestion but he wasn't sure what else to suggest.
You on the other hand loved it.
"Oh my god, yes. Please tell me you know a good spot? I have been meaning to try some ice cream in this town."
Considering you just moved here, you haven't had the time to look for a good ice cream shop yet.
He was simply surprised by your reaction but showed none of it. Just smiling widely he nodded, "Oh, do I. You will love it. They literally have a flavor called pink."
You laughed at that. "What does pink even taste like?"
He shrugged, "Probably bubble gum or something."
"Oh, I definitely gotta try."
"I think you basically have too," he confirmed.
With a huff through your nose you gave him a nod. You just looked at each other for a moment before you spoke up.
"So uhm- how does 3 pm sound?"
"Great," he agreed easily, excitement rising, "so... it's a date?"
The question got out so easily, you didn't even realize you went along until it was done.
"Yeah," reality hit you and your eyes shot open. "Wait- like a date date?"
Honestly? He was glad you wanted that clarification because he needed to get it off his chest.
"If you want it to be. Yes."
Cody was kinda hopeful too. He wouldn't want to mess this up. So he said up straight, looking directly at you as he waited for an answer.
"Uh- yes- yes, I would love that," you eventually agreed.
Relief rushed over the both of you as each others grin grew wider. There was this feeling of comfort rushing over you. Something you never felt before and certainly never wanted to loose.
So it was settled. You two would go on a date together. Just like that. You two felt giggly the rest of the night.
Yvonne knew obviously. The rest just wondered what it was between you two after they noticed but never dared to ask. Sure Kyle made a funny comment but Cody just shook it off.
The night was great fun for the rest of it but all you could think about was what will happen on next Friday and what it could mean for your relationship with Cody.
a/n: the end got a bit rushed but I needed to finish this hehe... hope y'all still like this!
