Luckily, Stuart didn’t have to wait long for his coffee and the second he got his cup, he took a careful sip from it ( burning the tip of his tongue but he pretended he didn’t ). Taking the waiter’s resume, he looked over it for a second, before writing it down on his laptop while Elliot told him about ‘Kendra’. The Googler can’t help but shake his head a little and roll his eyes at her.
❝ Why would she even think that? Don’t attractive people usually get discounts? Why would they tip more? Makes no sense to me but okay. ❞ , he muttered while he finished up typing his resume into a word document. He was about to add a few things when Elliot asked if he wanted something to eat. It’s strange. No one usually cares about him and if he ate or drank enough. But then again, this is Elliot’s job.
❝ While I do love chicken, I should concentrate on your resume first. Maybe after we’re done here. Okay, so.. I took some stuff out that isn’t important to Google. And I want to add some things they deem important but I should ask you about that first. I don’t want you to go into an interview being asked about thinks in your resume you don’t know about. So… ❞ , and with that, he began asking a few questions. What would Elliot deem his strong suits, his weaknesses and so on. Filtering out all the things Google seems to think it important. And then he adds some of these things. It takes them about fifteen minutes before Stuart nodded his head.
❝ Give me your e-mail address. I will send you the resume so you can send it to Google and apply for the barista job there. ❞ , once the waiter gave him his mail address, Stuart forwarded the updated resume to it. Then he closed his laptop and emptied his cup coffee in one big swig.
❝ I’d like another coffee. And yes, I would love some chicken tenders and some fries, please. Oh and also… Do you consider me attractive? I am trying to figure out how big of a tip I am going to give you. ❞ , a playful wink followed his words, obviously mocking Elliot’s coworker with his words.
“ Your guess is as good as mine, ” Elliot replies, watching as Stuart typed. He sat there for a moment, until the Googler responds to his question. He nods his head and offers a sweet smile. “ Okay. Sounds good to me. Let’s go over it, then. ” When Stuart asked his questions, Elliot responds as honestly and openly as he can. He tries to make the process as easy for his companion as he could -- especially since he was going out of his way to help him land a better job. If he manages to work for Google ... even if it is in the house cafe ... he’ll be stoked. He writes down his email address on a napkin to make it easier for the other brunet before passing it to him. He watches as Stuart finishes his cup of coffee and closes his laptop shortly after sending the document. “ Cool. Thank you so much for helping me, Stuart. I really do appreciate it. Maybe we’ll end up being coworkers. ” He beams at his companion, all too happy to have made a connection with the other. However, Stuart’s question completely blindsides him. However, he doesn’t bat an eyelash with his response: “ You’re a pretty attractive guy. But that’s why I’m giving you a discount, remember ? ” He returns the wink, although his words definitely didn’t have any malice or false nature to them. In fact, he was being completely honest -- maybe except the discount part. That was because Stuart took the time out of his day to help him. “ I’ll be right back with your coffee, and I’ll put in your order for chicken tenders. ” It takes a couple minutes, but Elliot returns with a fresh and hot cup of coffee, just the way Stuart asked for it. He sets it down in front of the other brunet. “ Can I get you anything else while the kitchen works on your meal ?”
