Me claiming all my fav characters as Mexican and/or Autistic because I'M Mexican and Autistic 🤭
This is my Winx self insert, they're a moon fairy 🌙
(I know Stella is the fairy of the Sun and Moon, but she always seemed to lean more Sun to me)
They have some light powers but they mostly manipulate darkness/shadows. Water does react around them, since the moon controls the tides, but she cannot manipulate it to their will.
So, it's debated, but the word Mexico likely means Moon Lake which I've always identified closely to the moon. So both forms have a lot of Mexican inspiration.
The student/normal one has embroidery motifs inspired by one of my favorite Mexican Clothing brands, Cadena Collective. And the ruffles on the shorts are inspired by the Sinaloan Mestizo dress. And the Necklace she wears is reminiscent of the obsidian mirrors used throughout a lot of the indigenous cultures.
The fairy form also has a lot of Mexican motifs. So, the silver collar has an onyx stone with a diamond inlay. onyx for the night, the diamond for the stars. Then below is a pearl cradled in a crescent sapphire for the ocean/tides. And I'm extra so the carvings in the collar is my birth chart. The leather boots have huarache weavings on the sides and on the toe. On the side weavings I did a braid beneath them. The leather corset has the same weavings as the shoes, only with the braided being along the collar. I also added that blue wrapping as a kind of serape, like she can wrap the night sky around themself. The stars on the skirt and the serape are the constellations from my birth date, cuz they can be 🙂↕️
I don't super love the school/normal form, but I'm very proud of the fairy form and how that turned out :)
Race/Ethnicity head cannons for some of my fav DC characters!
Jason Todd ♥️♥️ - Always gave Mexican 🙂↕️
Dick Grayson - I love him as Romani 🩷🩷
Tim Drake - Asian American, specifically see him as Singaporean American. Cuz he got that 💰
Stephanie Brown - She is Irish American 💯
Duke Thomas - Ghanaian American 🇬🇭
Beast Boy - Really love the Filipino head cannon for him
Raven ♥️♥️ - she is Indian, can't convince me otherwise
Starfire - my black queen fr 👑
Selina Kyle - She's afro Latina, just light skinneded
Lucius Fox - I just know that man is Caribbean
Any way that's all for now, toodles!
Rewatching legend of Korra and Bolin is very very autistic coded. My boy cannot read a room to save his life 😭😂 I love him.
So I'm adding him to the list of my fav characters who are now autistic like me cuz I said so 🥰

I'm part of the "Starfire is a black girl" camp. So I decided to do a design of her based on the Masai tribe of Kenya and Tanzania.
The beadwork/jewelry was a lot of fun. I did accidentally fuck up and didn't continue the pattern on the shoulder drape the way I should've. But oh well lol.
I've been trying to connect to my indigenous roots for quite some time now. And it's sucks how little resources there are for native Southern Americans.
My great grandmother is nearly native but married a Spanish man and choose to completely assimilate to the colonial mindset.
At first, my research lead to the fact that a very small portion of the indigenous people from my hometown are actually from there. They were and still are the bread basket of the country so even before colonization there were crazy amounts of migration throughout the area. And I also found that very few records were left of original languages and practices. It was suspected that because of how much migration there was and how far the Mexica empire stretched that mostly those traditions and Náhuatl language were what were practiced by the time Spain came along. BUT recently I found out that the Yoreme (Mayo) are one of the peoples that have been there from the beginning.
I'm really excited about this new discovery and although I haven't been able to research much lately, I'm hopeful in continuing to learn more about my roots.
So so so late to the game. But since I've recently gotten into digital art I just had to make my own Spidersona!
This is Estraña! Her name is a mashup of estrella ⭐ and araña 🕷️. But also kinda sounds like the word stranger in Spanish, which I quite like.
Her suit has the mappings of my constellation birth chart and I like to think that she's a bioluminescent spider 🕸️
Made myself a lil challenge of doing some county designs on some underrated strawberry shortcake characters a while ago. This was my first time getting back into drawing after a few years. And first time doing digital art. I'm actually pretty happy about them!
