Hi, I’m Kit! I love to draw and yap about my fandoms. That’s what this blog is for! I will primarily be posting my art + tadc related stuff for the time being. Maybe a little hazbin (don’t support viv), dandy's world, warrior cats and pokémon stuff as well.

I will probably block if you are a pro/darkshipper, especially a vocal one. Though, I don’t dig thru people’s profiles just because they liked my posts or something. I don’t really have a dni besides that because I block a lot and I find that works better than an actual dni for tumblr tbh. But if you’re in that group and I block you, that’s why.
That aside, I block if I feel I need to, do not take it personally at all or think you did something wrong. Sometimes, it might just be that you post a lot about something I personally don't like.
Just a shorter intro/pinned post because my other one was getting kinda long! You can see the other one under the introductions tag if you would like to know a bit more about me :)
Yes, the leaks were real. No, I'm no longer coping. I think there is only one TADC ending and this is it. I want to focus on Jax in this post. It is pretty critical/negative, so watch out.
Spoilers under the cut.

I found Jax's arc to be sincerely underwhelming, now that I've seen his whole arc across the series.
Goose wrote a great, compelling character but kind of fumbled him towards the end.
We see that Jax is a troubled guy from the beginning and only gets meaner as the series progresses. In episode 6, Jax tells Pomni that nothing is real and everything is an archetype.
What really bothers me is that in episode 7, he joined Abel's adventure upon Pomni's request. He had hope to leave the circus, yet it was crushed by Caine and he called him out for it. Even he was devastated by the fact that he was right.
In episode 9, Jax gets the confirmation that everything was fake and he goes off and abstracts.
It makes me wonder what I'm supposed to get out of that situation? Like, I see what Goose was trying to do. Jax kept spiraling downward and hurting everyone along the way. Not even Pomni could save him. Now he's forever stuck as a lobotomized digital dog. Even his last words, "I don't want to go" annoyed me. There's not really a point to that line other than to twist the knife and make everyone feel bad, since there was no saving him at that point.
I know seeing his human self do better was supposed to be a source of comfort, but it kind of bothered me. You're saying that Jax actually did have the potential to be a better person, but if he's placed in a situation where most of his autonomy and personhood is stripped, he become abusive, depressed, and ultimately ends his own life?
If Jax was less central to the story, I'd be a lot more fine with his ending. I wouldn't really think twice about a guy that was destined to die from the beginning. But Jax and Pomni's relationship is central to the story, and the execution of his plotline leaves a bitter taste in my mouth.
Also, as a fan of IHNMAIMS, I don't think Jax's inversion of Ted was well done. Ted's character worked because, while he was paranoid and cruel like Jax, he ended up sacrificing himself for the good of the people around him. He did this by doing something very consistent with his character: ending everyone's lives but his own. I was really hoping for some kind of ending like that for Jax. He clearly loves the people around him, and it became more clear as the series progressed, especially since he completely stopped bullying around episode 7 after his fight with Pomni, so I was really hopeful that something huge would have happened with his character. He didn't need a happy ending or anything, but I wanted SOMETHING that wasn't just exactly what you'd expect. There really wasn't a lot of payoff for the series' investment in Jax's character, since he ended up as just another abstraction.
Another bit I want to talk about is trans Jax. I don't mind this bit. I personally think that Jax is closer to nonbinary/genderfluid, since his human self seems to use he/him pronouns and his given name, but he also frequents Zooble's gay bar. He also might be closeted, but I lean away from that just because of the gay bar thing.
Overall, I'm really disappointed. I do love this series, but I think the ending was fumbled pretty badly.
If anyone wants a deeper explanation on any of these points, feel free to ask. I'll be venting about the finale for a while.
Best video on goose's racism! Never let her edgy newgrounds "im just joking" ass live this down!! https://www.tiktok.com/t/ZP8s18jXV/
so many good points in this holy shit. YES time does not equal ‘oh theyve changed theyre better now’ fucking thank u!!! ‘it was years ago!’ do u think that bcuz the dude who stalked me did it years ago is innocent now bcuz its been years since he started doing it? no! there aint no statute of limitations on problematic internet fuckery!
something about people insisting someone did no wrong but simultaneously trying to get any evidence of their less than savoury behaviour taken down by submitting wrongful reports is so funny 😭 oh the irony, or whatever imagine dragons said (FAKE WORDS TIKTOK) #tadc #theamazingdigitalcircus #gooseworx #rant #analysis
I wish I’d seen this sooner. It has some stuff on Goose that I genuinely did not know about before watching the video. It’s well compiled and does show some concerning behaviours. I agree with the creator of the video that the biggest issue is the quantity and repetition of these situations rather than any isolated incident. Thank you for sharing this, anon.
'Wow you r so critical about the show you must hate it'
Well uh...
Thing is i don't, i am critical about the way the female characters were treated, Jax whole wasted potential , everything in the finale.Queenie and Ribbit character execution etc
But i still like this show, it not perfect but it still a very comforting series and special interest to me.I love drawing these characters and there designs and personalities.
i believe people should criticise the things they love because it makes them more receptive to those who don t like it.
An piece of art can t be perfect but it doesn't mean you can't love it.
Being critical doesn't mean you hate something, but are abel to see it flaws and still enjoy it.
I don't like what the voice actors or Goose did ,but there shity actions can t broke the validation Ragatha ,Gangle and Pomni gived me as a abused survivor who loves to draw
honest opinion no one asked for, no spoilers but just a warning!! (tldr at the bottom) ((look for pink text for tldr))
ONLY IF YOU WERE PLANNING TO PAY TO SEE THE FINALE (TADC EP 9) IN THEATERS :
if you are a genuinely passionate fan of tadc, I honestly HIGHLY recommend hearing out people talking about the finale or even watching the leak before you pay money to travel and see it in theatres-PLS HEAR ME OUT!!
my pov:
I really love and admire the show and have supported and defended it always, even making content about it, and have openly shared my love the show and my love for indie animation making more impact!!!
I was originally planning to drive two hours to the nearest theatre to see it. YES I KNOW but again, I really love the show and knew this would be a huge moment for indie animation getting more support (online and financially)!!
I got so angry when I heard there were leaks. Like, this is such a huge chance for indie animation to show it can have just as much of a large impact in theatres especially with its beginnings, being on youtube, then netflix, and now a theatre release. Like this is so amazing !!! and probably a dream come true it looks like for aspiring animators wanting their passion projects to get support to fully come to life!! hope core !!
well ofc I had heard/seen some comments, and honestly they seemed all over the place at first. Like I couldn’t get what was really happening? I had been actively avoiding spoilers but these just came through in people’s passive comments or making references to what happened. Then ofc the inevitable happened and when I thought I was watching a trailer or edit, it seemed to be like a super cut of the finale. I read the comments explaining further(i was just appalled at what i saw and wanted to confirm it was fake, so so badly), and though i’m not too proud of it, followed a link and watched the whole portuguese leak myself. I KNOW I KNOW I KNOW THATS HYPOCRITICAL BUT YOU WILL UNDERSTAND IF YOU KNOW AN SAW WHAT I SAW!! I KNOW THAT SUCKS WHEN PEOPLE ARE VAGUE ON THE INTERNET BUT IT IS YOUR CHOICE AT THE END OF THE DAY IM SORRY IM JUST A GIRL CRYING ON HER BLOG TRYING TO PREVENT DISMAYYYYY😭😭😭
honestly? I’m glad I did before following through on the plans to travel to see it. And show my friends the show. I don’t want to be associated with it when they see it. I’m sorry but my honest reaction to everything I saw in the leak was just: if I saw this in the theatre after driving 2 hrs, paying for tickets the same price as my weekly gas, and constantly defending this show I think I would’ve crashed out and gone insane trying to convince myself this was all just a huge prank and the real finale is in the popcorn bucket or something 😭 like i do think it’s would’ve been another stranger things season 5 type of deal/reaction but this time people paid money and drove or traveled in general to watch it. to which im sure would make a lot of people MORE pissed and aggressive than the dark parts of the fandom already are like 💔
Not too many details because I don’t want people to be spoiled by my hints before they make the choice to see them. but Even if i did, if I read everything that happened in the finale before watching it I think I would had the same reaction as goose and assume it was all fabricated. Like nothing made sense. and it never will. I genuinely thought being were being way too crazy about this, like everything else that’s happened recently. and now my foot’s in my mouth lmao
Not everyone will agree I’m sure, but it was just so upsetting how they handled this show. I was so hopeful and even calling out the fandom for being so disrespectful. BUT I KINDA SEE WHY THEY LEAKED IT, everything was just so appalling I couldn’t believe glitch approved this and no one even pushed back on this even a little. The last 12 minutes had more impact on my than the entire thing and even then I couldn’t enjoy it because I was so ragebaited by the shit from a butt I just watched. IM SORRY I CAN TELL MUCH LOVE WENT I TO THE PROJECT EVEN THE ANIMATORS WERE TRYING TO HARD TO SAVE IT AND MAKE UP FOR THE ABSURDITY BUT NOTHING COULD HAVE PREPARED ME.
anyways pls consider finding out how bad it does get before committing to watching in theatres, I know others might not want to support this release either if they knew what they were signing up to watch!!
edit: i wanted to add that it’s more uncomfy than you may realize, which was my main reason for not wanting other to travel to see it especially if seeing in a different city than you are familiar with. there definitely should be some tw for the episode and i don’t wanna share them in case people think it’s spoilers, but some scenes were triggering for me, and this is after years of working on getting panicked less easily and emdr therapy so idk how else to lay it out that it might be worth looking into if you’re cautious if those things
vvvvvv TLDR vvvvvv
TLDR: if this is going to be a costly event for you, I do think you should hear people out about about what happened in the finale. I won’t spoil it for you if you don’t want to know as this won’t be tagged as a spoiler, but I do think a large amount of people, like a majority of fans are going to be upset about it. Especially if you’re in a situation where you want to pay money to see it. I get that and I want to support indie animation more too, but with what I’ve seen in the leaks i’m happy to have seen them before I went through with that, as this is no longer something I want to support or show passion in and know others will not want to if they knew what it entailed.
TADC Episode 9 spoilers under the cut! Though, I do think that was obvious.
Hello! I know most of you all hated Jax even before Episode 9, so I figured I could come in and talk as someone who actually used to be a fan and invested in his development(in fact— I used to selfship with him!). I figured I should offer my perspective. I would like to add that I haven’t fully finished Episode 9 yet, as I did get a bit too uncomfortable during Jax’s fantasy sequences to continue. So, do take most of this with a veritable grain of salt.
To start off, what was there to fail to begin with? Jax’s character is based upon facades, the falsifying of his personality(and others’) in order to let go of his feelings of his current situation and his own actions. In the beginning episodes, this was an interesting premise for a character, especially for one that I think was originally supposed to be a side character. Jax was a character who was implied to care about the other characters(we’ll come back to this part later), beneath his deep facade and general dickheadery. In the beginning, his actions were barely— if not excused at all. In fact, Pomni called him out for it multiple times, and whether it be from a lack of understanding or simply a lack of tolerance, I think it was what Jax deserved to get a wake up call. If they continued with Pomni being generally empathetic, but not to a fault, leaving Jax with a choice in the end: “Put your act together or I’m leaving,” it would have been a compelling way to “redeem” Jax but not excuse his actions at all.
I think that Pomni continually giving Jax excuses was what led to the utter destruction of his original, intended character honestly. This is especially prevalent in Episode 6 onwards. While I enjoyed the exploration of both Pomni and Jax’s general characters, I found that the slow pushing away of other main cast members became only detrimental to both their characters in the end. With this isolation, Jax became the sole focus and Pomni simply became a device to find out more about him. And with this, Pomni slowly became less of a character and more of a robotic hug-giver to Jax, not the outgoing and generally well-rounded Pomni we used to know, who used to actually stand UP to Jax!
And as we transition from Episode 8 to Episode 9, I believe that this is where the true deconstruction and rebuilding of Jax’s character happened. And I do not mean this in a positive way, they took all the possible routes to go with Jax’s complexity and threw them out the window, instead making him ENTIRELY unsympathetic and completely retconning his care for members of the circus other than Ribbit and maybe Kaufmo. Jax was originally a very interesting character BECAUSE of this dichotomy, his inexcusable abuse towards others paired with someone who’s.. actually very observant. Someone who does understand the members of the circus, but chooses not to most of the time! The original Jax was someone admittedly very complex, and very interesting as a character. He was teetering on the edge of irredeemability because of this inner implied character, and yet, when I watch Episode 9, it’s all… gone???
His character turned from someone very centered around the OTHERS, to a character centered around himself. All of his slightly positive feelings about the others was completely removed to in favor make the very facade that he swore upon.. his only character. I suppose his backstory was also something they focused on, but it wasn’t really anything that added to the story because all of his other character got removed for the sake of woobifying and victimizing him.
Part of what made his portrayal so bad is that they never focused on how his abuse affected others. How they only treated it as a passing joke, and how most of the characters he mistreated were pushed to the sidelines and never were able to show their TRUE feelings about Jax. They, too, became devices to victimize him. They never showed if he actually felt guilt or any sort of negative emotions to how he treated the others later in the series, so I guess we’re supposed to assume he didn’t give a fuck…?? The only time it’s shown he feels guilty is in Episode 6, where he has a momentary falter after his argument with Pomni. Personally, I think this was the last episode his character remained intact.
And sadly, I know exactly where it went wrong, because I’ve written a character like this myself. I’ll introduce their very bare-bones characterization: Neres is a character from my book. They, like the other characters in my book, are in a godlike position of power. Neres is also someone who desires control within their situation, and thus, lashes out and takes it out on others when they do not get it. This comes from a need for distraction as well. This is their basic character, and now we’ll move to what I originally did with them. As I wrote my story, they gradually went from a character who did what they did because they felt it was right, to a character who acted out of general malice, selfishness, and disregard for other characters. I ended up simply looking at the IDEA of them as a character, and not the problems their one-dimensional character would bring. And this was because I couldn’t handle actually bringing consequences down upon them. In my original first draft, I ended up giving them an ending like Jax’s: simply killing them off and moving on. There was no musing on what they did, no understandable traits about their character. They went from a complex person to a moral lesson of sorts. And the funny thing is, I accidentally created a near-exact Pomni replica for them, without even knowing it. The basic premise of Ivory’s original character is that: She’s cautious, likes Neres and has a mental breakdown somewhere in the book idk. Ivory was essentially a betrayal-farmer and hug-giver for Neres until the very end, and had no actual feelings about what Neres did other than Ohh Nooo Sad :(. I Want To Redeem Them!
Eventually, I had a realization that Goose seems to not have, because she seems to have projected herself on Jax too much. I realized that Neres could simply not continue like this as a character BECAUSE of the lack of consequences for them. The lack of other characters forming thoughts on them, and the lack of elaboration on THEIR character. Eventually, I realized that making the book all about Neres and just angstfarming for the others was heavily unsatisfying— so I changed it! I gave Neres and actual backstory, and toned down the severity of their actions to make them redeemable, and made Ivory her own character(in fact, she’s now one of the least close to Neres). I replaced Ivory with Trin, who’s unafraid to tell it how it is and gives Neres a final choice in the end, instead of simply asking over and over for them to change. In the end, because of their shared issues that simply could not be solved in the spaces they were in, they flipped the switch that returned them to being mortal, and removed all their memories of being gods. Together. Both of them have problems because of the circumstances they were forced into, and without getting into the nitty gritty about my own story(since I know this is long winded and boring!), the general message of the story shifted from “Uhhh, don’t be selfish and don’t abuse others?” to “Sometimes the only escape from our circumstances is to start anew, and that’s okay.” I will admit, my story is imperfect, and a bit rough on the edges currently(I’m still working on how to give Neres consequences and keep the ending intact) but I still think it serves on a good example on how to fix bad character development early. The main point is that I sacrificed the version of Neres that I personally really liked at the time to create a better message and more coherent story as a whole.
And I WISH THAT WAS WHAT GOOSEWORX DID WITH JAX! 💔 Instead, she doubled down on his flawed and inconsistent characterization to excuse what he did since she didn’t seem to be ready to accept that some things need to be changed, even if he’s a character she personally projects onto, and in the end, it created an incomplete character and a butchered version of him. I consider Episode 6 and below Jax and Episode 6+ Jax different characters, honestly.
I’m just… so upset on how they handled him. How they turned one of my favorite portrayals of a character like him to one of my least favorites. It makes me genuinely so upset, because he used to be one of my favorite characters, and I was excited to see what they’d do with him. So that’s my Ted Talk on Jax, and why I think his characterization was completely forgotten. I hope you enjoyed! :)
Ignore if any of this reads as clunky, I wrote this shellshocked at like 2:00 AM LMAO.
having negative thoughts about the tadc 9 leak again. spoilers.
it just breaks my heart in so many ways. Everything that I was invested in was discarded.
there's no redemption for Jax. there's no reconciliation or regret expressed for the people he abused. there's no confrontation from said abuse victims. there's no dialogue about the relationship between his femme-leaning gender dysphoria and his abusive behavior against women. there's no lore drops or hints about abstractions possibly un-abstracting, so that one day Jax could be saved.
there is absolutely none of these things. Any of the topics or concepts that I found interesting about TADC, about Jax himself, anything at all that I wanted to see on screen, is completely disregarded.
he just dies, and now the series is pretty much ruined for me. what was any of that for????
(Jax haters might wanna scroll by this probably won’t resonate much)
Wdym Jax canonically came out to her mother as trans NOT EVEN IMPLIED BUT CANONICALLY APPARENTLY SAID SHE THOUGHT SHE WAS A GIRL TO HER MOTHER… but never got a chance to be herself in the circus nor is confirmed to come out irl. Are you kidding. Ough. As someone who was initially a Jax fan (I never excused his/her actions, and my opinion very much soured after the leaks) and rooting for him to improve and grow, and wasn’t part of the critical sphere until episode 9, this hurts. Just a bit. I’m glad I didn’t watch in theatres, I would’ve been crying my ass off over that stupid rabbit even though it’s her own fault she pushed away the one person she could trust (Ribbit) 😭 aueueueueeu
I think it clicked for me that Goose was trying to do something I Saw The TV Glow-esque (haven’t watched it but for those who don’t know what it is it’s a horror movie that focuses around a trans allegory of someone repressing their identity/not living as their true self) with Jax’s ending. While I do wish she’d gone a diff route/don’t think the conclusion to Jax’s arc tonally fits with the show, at least my mind can parse what she was kinda going for with that?
