ꕥ —hey hey again guys, i definitely didn't crash after putting out my first two intros :') which i will get to all your lovely ims as soon as i finish writing about my third muse, the amazing idiotboy sejoon! (or joonie as most people call him) who enjoys uploading dumb skateboarding stunts, flirting w/ cute girls and drumming for kim aera's band! on his blog you will find a profile of course along with some lovely plot ideas, and under the cut i will provide some bullet points about his life! just like last time, simply leave a like on this and i'll hyu in the near future on his behalf! ♡
sejoon was born seaside in busan south korea in august of 1999 — no really, his mom was on her way to deliver a forgotten lunch to joonie's father only to go into labor 2 weeks early right there at the marina (his father likes to joke that joonie was too dumb to know he wasn't at the hospital lmao)
his father worked as a captain aboard a deep sea fishing vessel which brought in a ton of money for the family, while his mother was able to follow her dreams of being a schoolteacher without worry of the cost of such an endeavor.
he has an older brother which will definitely be a wc at some point! i picture someone more intelligent, successful and altogether more refined than joonie lol but that would be entirely up to the mun bringing him in!
a lifelong lover of both drumming and skateboarding. in fact, he loves to upload drum solos as the backing audio for the insane stunts he shares.
joonie greatly enjoyed growing up in busan and has always been a huge beach bum, but when he went away to school in seoul (waste of tuition since he ended up dropping out lmao) he fell in love with the city so a compromise had to be made.
he stayed in the city, the complex above brewed awakening to be exact, but he'd take occasional weekend trips home to busan so he could have the best of both worlds.
sejoon joined up with kim aera's band when he moved out to seoul and is now a drummer by trade, able to live off what he makes from his part in it along with some supplemental cash from his parents. his mom is his biggest supporter and is very sweet and buys the band's albums while his father is always justifiably roasting him (with love tho sldkfjdkm)
literally always has women on his mind i'm sorry, GOOD LUCK GETTING HIS ATTENTION WITH A PRETTY GIRL IN THE ROOM (unless ur the pretty girl)
personality wise: he is an emotionally simple comic relief himbo, but he does have a lot of creative chops when it comes to music and filming videos so he may not be a complete lost cause yet. that said, he does dumb and dangerous things on a pretty regular basis so maybe he is. he can be a fun person to hang out with as he loves to make people laugh and feel good, but his dedication to never leaving the fun party headspace can be exhausting for some.
important note: whenever something catches his eyes as being spicy on netflix or the like, he likes to hold a watch party in his apartment! idk why my muses love having mass gatherings in their tiny tiny lofts but let them cook 😭
scanning over all the various colors and textures in front of her while also attempting to tune out the wheel as nothing more than background noise alongside the in-store radio, yubin hummed in recognition, looking over at sejoon with a polite little smile. "i may be getting paid, but you're getting a very generous discount. consider it my own thanks for not frying my brain by way of demanding the most structurally unsound part of your home be open concept with no support beams." she let out a small snort of a laugh, shaking her head as her mind wandered to a particularly difficult client she'd had just a few months earlier.
she could only bring herself to watch him blankly as he moved the curtain, a fleeting thought of 'at least he's cute' floating through her brain in the brief second of silence before he spoke again. she turned her attention towards the curtain that he'd played around with, the lightbulb in her brain flickering on after a moment of consideration. "actually, you know what..."
she held up her pointer finger in his direction as an indication to wait, quickly pulling up a search tab on her phone and typing something in. upon finding her desired result, she let out a quiet sound of triumph. "layered curtains! we could do something darker like those with a lighter, sheer paneling on top. sort of a... sea foam vibe?" she stepped closer to show sejoon the images in question, looking between her phone and his face to gauge a reaction.
sejoon had to blink for a few moments to register the possibility he'd actually done something correctly. taking another good look at the fabric he was gripping and then at yubin's phone, he envisioned precisely what she was talking about. "oh yeah! yeah, i see what you mean! like when the waves are crashing on the shore and lighter shades of blue come out until you get to white..." he agreed, nodding his head and retrieving the chosen drapes. "these'll go great with the sand-colored throw rug we got too," he chirps, confirming his suspicions as he placed the curtains on top of the rug.
he sends a glance back toward the draperies, an inquisitive expression dominating his features. "so i guess that means we need to pick out some lighter shades now?" is his next question, choosing instead to follow her lead rather than taking it upon himself to choose. he was okay at color coordination to a certain extent, but differing shades of blue that would mesh well together was outside of his wheelhouse.
"this one's all yours," he offered sheepishly, an arm leaning on their squeaky cart. he ignored the 'aws' and giggles of adoration from two elderly women who passed them in the aisle, knowing full well they probably thought he and yubin were a young couple preparing to move in together. his cheeks felt warm until their presence finally passed, refocusing his eyes on the task at hand. "so, how long have you been an interior designer?" he queried, in hopes of making some casual conversation.
the february air was crisp and cold outside of the small beachfront villa as the waves of a winter ocean walloped the shore; sejoon could see the nostalgia in his dim reflection as it peeked back at him since he'd been watching the beachfront and reminiscing for a good five minutes now. now that he and haesol's weekend bags were packed away and night was falling, they could finally take a minute to relax.
joon headed over to the fireplace, the quick turn of a dial causing it to roar to life lightly. the wind rattled the sliding glass door from outside, and sejoon was suddenly very happy he was in here with warmth beginning to expand throughout the room rather than on the chilly balcony. as he flopped onto the sofa, one corner of his mouth pinned upward — a flood of childhood memories of winters spent in the house hitting him once again. he chuckled, thinking of all the crazy things he and haesol would get up to, namely daring each other to jump into the pool before the warming mechanism could take effect as teenagers.
it was honestly a wonder his mother hadn't banned them from staying at the house, but even the most ridiculous of parties he threw never had his privileges revoked. like clockwork, even thinking about a party got sejoon's mind set on what they would be having delivered for dinner that night. "hey haesol!! you hungry? we should decide what to order," he called through the house to his friend, while picking his phone up from the cushion beside him.

as the agonizing cries of a squeaky, awkward wheel echoed in his ears, sejoon knew this would likely be the first and last time he got to choose the shopping cart on one of these loft renovation outings. in an attempt to distract his companion from the prospect of rolling her eyes and ditching him in the drapery section for good, he handed out more gratitude for their agreement. "thanks again for doing this! i mean, i know you're getting paid to, but still," he spoke, a lopsided grin joining in the mix.
there were numerous types of curtains hanging in every direction, coming in seemingly every shade known to man. the mission today was garnering items that would transform his boring, regular loft into a beach inspired paradise in dedication to his beloved busan. "hmmm, what about these?" he asked suddenly, lifting up a bit of cerulean fabric that clearly did not match anything else that they'd accrued since they began shopping. not that it mattered, he immediately got sidetracked. "hey look..." he muttered, causing the curtain to move. "the store is haunted!" he bellowed dramatically, making a defined hand shape glide through the fabric.
upon coming to the realization that, once again, he'd slipped solely into 'unhelpful' territory, he cleared his throat awkwardly. "sorry, right. back to the task at hand!"
𝜗𝜚. 𝐀𝐍𝐘 𝐎𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑 𝐏𝐄𝐑𝐒𝐎𝐍 𝐖𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐇𝐀𝐕𝐄 𝐁𝐄𝐄𝐍 𝐇𝐄𝐒𝐈𝐓𝐀𝐍𝐓 to invite someone they suspected had feelings for them under the conditions of a fake date, but chiyo visibly lit up at his confirmation. it wasn’t like this was her first time navigating a friend’s crush, and she never let such affections interfere with her friendships in the past.
“don’t be silly,” she waved his offer away with a playful grin. “since you’re doing me a favor by coming along, you can have the churro. in fact, i’ll buy you twenty!” stepping beside sejoon, chiyo looped her arm through his and flipped over the flyer to reveal a list of attractions positioned under a poorly printed map of the park.
she brought it close to her face, her soft brown eyes examining every detail etched in black ink as she slowly began to take steps toward the subway. “they have a lot of fun stuff, but i mainly want to ride the draken. oh, — and the ferris wheel because i heard it’s one of the tallest in korea.” she handed him the flyer so that sejoon could look over the options. “how about you?”
sejoon's eyes widened at the prospect of twenty churros, though knowing him, he probably could easily put away that many. in all fairness, it was a far more shocking revelation that chiyo would want to do this with him at all. it was a fake date, sure, but she'd still have to spend a few hours in his presence to make it convincing to the park employees. he may not have been the sharpest tool in the shed, but he knew well enough to know that chiyo was out of his league. that's why even a day together as friends was more than enough for him.
as chiyo held the flyer towards him, sejoon took a good look at what the park had on offer. "i'm definitely with you on the draken, it looks awesome! and i'd definitely be up for a ride on the ferris wheel. as for me, i think the phaethon seems pretty cool! and i'd love to go on the megadrop too," sejoon's voice had taken on a lightness that could only be caused the childlike joy of theme parks.
as his eyes scanned over the waterpark, still obviously closed for the season, his grin drooped if only slightly. "it's a shame it's not summer. we could have gone on the surfing simulator! not to brag, but i do have mad skills," he chuckled, mind awash in memories of growing up in busan.
𝜗𝜚. 𝐉𝐔𝐒𝐓 𝐀𝐒 𝐂𝐇𝐈𝐘𝐎 𝐒𝐓𝐄𝐏𝐏𝐄𝐃 𝐎𝐔𝐓 𝐎𝐅 𝐁𝐑𝐄𝐖𝐄𝐃 𝐀𝐖𝐀𝐊𝐄𝐍𝐈𝐍𝐆𝐒, she stumbled right into what she had been looking for — a nice man that may be willing to play pretend for a day. “ah, sejoon!” she blurted out a little too eagerly, her glossy lips curving into a bright smile. chiyo held out a dark red flyer towards him which read:
it was an advertisement for an amusement park just a short subway ride away. one that she had been eyeing for the past couple of months, but couldn’t muster the courage to visit alone. "are you free today?” she asked, tilting her head slightly. “i figured they won’t be checking for marriage licenses at the door, so . . .”
as the early afternoon sun shone brightly overhead, sejoon's hand lifted to create a shield over his eyes to peer down gyeogang street. there seemed to be a lot more people out and about given that there'd been a bit of a break in the weather; things seemed altogether more spring-like today. even he'd taken advantage of an early morning trip to the skate park to work some excess energy out of his system. it hadn't really worked apparently, as he was still looking for something to devote said energy to.
it was then that chiyo had popped out of brewed awakening, directing her attention towards him. he sent a flustered look in her direction, standing up and bowing quickly yet deeply towards her. "ah, chiyo!" he greets her, cheeks, ears and neck all tinged a rosy pink. it was something of an open secret that sejoon had a pretty massive crush on chiyo, but it wasn't really anything that got in the way of their connection as friends. "oh, you want me to...?" he looks from the flyer to her face a couple of brisk times, before an awkward grin breaks out on his handsome features. "yeah, um, i'm free! i'd be happy to accompany you to the park," he agreed, though his golden retriever eyes hinted there was something else he needed to say. "one thing, though...you don't have to share the churro with me if you don't want to," he speaks through a goofy grin, though his expression reads as sincere.
